4 out of 5 eggsVery good

This review is from: ENERMAX OSTROG ECA3253-BR Black/Red SGCC / SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Looks awesome... very worth your money. Comparable to something that costs three times what this did.

Update: I recently bought another case, and one of the rivets was rolling around in the case when I opened it.

Cons: Update: I recently bought another case, and one of the rivets was rolling around in the case when I opened it. Couldn't find out where it went, so not gunna change the eggs as the case is still pretty epic. I will however deduct one egg because the new one I got has a nice deep scratch on the top, and the box was poorly taped when I received the package, so much so I thought my roommate had opened it already and left it open.

Other Thoughts: One of the things to consider, when doing cable management the CPU power cable that goes from the power supply HAS to be put in before the motherboard. It won't fit through the hole otherwise, just trying to save somebody a lot of hassle so they don't have to unscrew the motherboard if you put the power supply in last like I do to get perfect cable management. The cable management of this case is pretty good otherwise, if I could change one thing I would give it another 4mm of clearance to hide more cables in the back, but otherwise it is awesome for the price. Definitely will get more in the future. Plexiglas side shows off your brand new system, recommend lighted LED fans to further plmp it out.

5 out of 5 eggsNo fans needed

This review is from: ENERMAX OSTROG ECA3253-BR Black/Red SGCC / SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Tons of cooling
Excellent USB 2.0/30 front panel placement
Tool-less
Bottom-mounted PSU location
PSU-intake filters

Cons: Stupid name.. "OSTROG" ?!?!
The top is almost completely open - be careful of spilling something on the case - component damage will ensue.

Other Thoughts: This case is pretty slick. Tons of passive cooling. It comes packaged with a fan or two (pre-installed,) and that's honestly all you'll need. The top of the case is almost completely open, allowing the hot air to escape. No fans needed to blow hot air out the back when it can simply rise up and out! Also, the bottom of the case has filter-screens for the PSU - another nice feature.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Case For The Price

This review is from: ENERMAX OSTROG ECA3253-BR Black/Red SGCC / SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: This case is well made, lightweight, has plenty of room for case fans, and water cooling capability. I enjoy the USB 3.0, and audio plugs in front. The red trim looks nice. For the back of the motherboard under the CPU the case has a nice cutout to improve CPU cooling. The 120mm fan included is nice.

Cons: No SSD mounting but they are easy to stick anywhere without a designated spot. The case only has 1 filter for under the Power Supply.

Other Thoughts: The front 120mm fan location has the best filtering so that is the only intake fan I am running. I'm using 3x80mm fans on the top, another 80mm on the bottom near the Power Supply, and the 120mm rear fan all for exhaust. My hope is this setup will keep the computer cool and the case free of dust.

3 out of 5 eggsNice case; power button broke after 3 months of normal daily use.

This review is from: ENERMAX OSTROG ECA3253-BR Black/Red SGCC / SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Well constructed, good thick metal.
Nice side panel.
Front fan options are good, removable drive cage is great.

Cons: You get what you pay for, and with this case using all good metal, the plastic holding the buttons and whatnot is cheap and brittle. The plastic holding the power button broke.
Top interface kinda sucks.

Other Thoughts: I would get it again at this price point, maybe for myself or somebody local. This was a customer's build I did and shipped out, it's very annoying trying to troubleshoot "my computer won't turn on" and trying to explain how to take off the front panel to try and fix the power button. Sigh.

Cons: The big huge enermax logo up top makes it looks kind of tacky.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent case for the price!

This review is from: ENERMAX OSTROG ECA3253-BR Black/Red SGCC / SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Lots of extra space on the inside for installation of ATX boards and plenty of tool free options for all your optical and storage drives. Lots of available fan options and plenty of room for AIO and custom water cooling.

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Quality, Great Price

This review is from: ENERMAX OSTROG ECA3253-BR Black/Red SGCC / SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: - excellent ventilation
- great price
- super sexy transparent side panel allows for viewing internals
- sturdy enough
- I love the grill/dust filter underneath the PSU mounting area. I installed my PSU upside down to take advantage of this.
- lots of potential for installing extra fans if you wanted to get some.

Cons: I really don't see any cons. If you like how it looks in the images, you will like it when you see it in person!

-Ok, well maybe this case would collect dust more than others because the top is so open. But this isn't a problem if you are willing to do a little cleaning from time to time (you can see any dust buildup clearly through the window if you wanted). Also, you should be well aware of this before ordering since images clearly show how open it is.

Other Thoughts: I have not installed optical drives or large hard drives in my case, so I cannot attest to the quality of those bays, though they look fine. I'm using a 2.5" SSD and there was no place to mount it, but the thing is so light, the power cables fom the PSU seems to hold it in place well enough, so it's just floating free and I don't care, haha.

I have not attempted to redeem my rebate yet, but even if they fail to get that to me, this case was sold to me at a great price! ($55 +tax + shipping)

4 out of 5 eggsNice Design

This review is from: ENERMAX OSTROG ECA3253-BR Black/Red SGCC / SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Nice design, lots of flexibility, plenty of drive bays, great ventilation

Cons: Internal sheet-metal fabrication quality was not great; the 5.25" drive bays have support tabs in them that are bent from the same sheet metal as the side of the rack; the bend accuracy was poor so the optical drive wouldn't fit. I ended up having to un-bend and re-bend the tabs.

Other Thoughts: Nice screwless mounting devices, but they might not hold up to a lot of stress if you are carrying the machine to LAN parties... better to buy some mounting screws if you are going to move it a lot.

3 out of 5 eggsGood case with flaws

This review is from: ENERMAX OSTROG ECA3253-BR Black/Red SGCC / SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: 1) Sturdy case/thick material
-Metal is thick/sturdy enough to not be wobbly. My fans on the top and sides don't rattle the case thanks to its thick material.
2) Roomy/spacious
-Case is roomy and allows enough space to work with during installation. I have an ATX case and didn't find it cramped like some of my other midtower cases (eg. Cooler Master Elite 430)
3) Good cable management
-Has holes in the back panel to allow you to loop cables around and hide/manage cables very well.
4) Light weight
-Despite its sturdy materials, the case is pretty light
5) Tool-less design
-Most of my DVD, HDD, etc drives were easy to install thanks to the tool-less design
6) Design looks good
-Overall, this case looks just as good as my Cooler Master Elite 430, but this is subjective.

Cons: 1) Poor quality control
-The metal mounts for the 5.25 drive bays were bent incorrectly, rendering one of the drive bays totally useless. I had to use pliers to bend it back into the proper shape & angle to make it useable.
2) Has 3 USB connectors to power the 4 USB ports
-The fact that it has 4 USB ports sounds great, except for the fact you need 3 USB connectors on your motherboard (including 1 USB 3 connector) to power them. I have a full size ATX motherboard, and my motherboard didn't have this many USB connectors...meaning many motherboards can't possibly hook up all the front USBs.
3) Front USB ports don't work.
-I don't know if my model was defective, or if I needed to plug in all 3 USB connectors. I plugged in the case's 2x USB 2.0 connector and NONE of the USB ports worked. (I use a 3rd party USB 3.0 device to connect to my mobo's USB 3.0 slot). Thus, this case's USB ports are either defective, or you need to plug in 2-3 connectors just to use a single USB port (can't just plug in 1 connector).
4) Blue LED is extremely bright
-not a huge con, but the front panel's blue LED is extremely bright. It shoots up and makes a blue glow on my ceiling like a projector. If you look at the light from the top, it is actually blinding to your eyes. I suggest disconnecting the LED or putting something over it.

Other Thoughts: The detachable harddrive cage is right in the path of the PCI-E slot. If you have a very long graphics card, this harddrive cage might block your graphics card and you'll have to take it out. I have an Sapphire HD 7970 Dual-X, which is about 11 inches long, and it just fits with about 0.5 to 1 cm to spare.
