4 out of 5 eggsLow-cost, good looking Full ATX HTPC case

Pros: - Very affordable pricing (free shipping ATM)
- Fits full ATX boards
- Fits Huge Zalman 9700 cooler with ease
- Solid build
- Good exterior looks
- Built-in Card-reader (see 'other thoughts)

Cons: - No reset button (small gripe)
- Must mount components in order (DVD must go in before motherboard, etc.)
- Could use rear exhaust fan (as big as an Antec solo, but no rear fan)
- Must removed DVD drive face plate to install in 'hidden' drive bay

Other Thoughts: - I read the reviews on this case BEFORE buying so I knew in advance that I would need to mount the DVD drive before the motherboard, and the HDD before the video card, so no stumbles there (still a con, however, IMHO).
- I had no issues at all getting the DVD eject button to line up properly, just needed to set the spacing correctly (front-to-rear) to make sure the actuator would work properly.
- Did have to remove the face plate of the DVD drive to get it to fit in the bay.
- I've tried the card reader plub on all of my internal USB headers and XP detects the drives, however, none of my SD cards can be read by the card reader. Not sure why, something of a bummer.
- Fan speed sesor and temp sensor are gimmicks in my book. A fan speed controller would have been better, but I'll take it for the low price.
- Really is a good basic full-sized HTPC case for the money.

3 out of 5 eggsLooks good, difficult build.

Pros: Nice looking case for the living room. Front panel inputs, card reader and audio. Temperature and fan speed display, also big light around power switch.

Cons: The screw holes for power supply (Apevia 680W) did not line up, required some drimmel treatment. DVD eject button does not work without mod. No reset switch or hdd led. Wire fell of power button; two emails to ARK not answered. Must install DVD drive before power supply and larger cpu cooler. Fan speed sensor should have been inline to motherboard connector; get BIOS warning about cpu fan not connected.

Other Thoughts: Looks good, difficult build; required patience. The rebate should help if it comes.

4 out of 5 eggsMedia Center PC - HTPC400

Pros: The title above is what it says on the case. The front panel is aluminum and rather thick. Overall the case is sturdier than the low price would make you expect. The paint is fine too. This is my first HTPC build and I would have to rate assembly effort high and near a custom level; there are many non plug and play spots along the way. CPU LCD works, reads close to Speed Fan.

Cons: 1. DVD eject button needs custom fit. 2. My Raptor HDD needed custom holes in the cage as it was too long for the holes given. 3. I had to super glue a power button LCD back. 4. This case is a good 1/4" to 3/8" taller than stated, that changed my plan. 5. If you find the card reader cable unplugged it is fun to plug it back in and socket is bendy, not breaky.

Other Thoughts: System - Asus P4GPLX full ATX - Raptor HDD - Pioneer BR ROM - Aspire 680w PSU - XFX 8800GTS [G80] ********* It's all in there. You will not drop in a PSU if you add a rear fan like I did. PSU 1st - fan 2nd. It got to me for less than $100, what's wrong with that.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Value -- No Limitation On Usable Components

Pros: •Standard Power Supply Mounting/Venting
•Full Height Card Slots
•Card Reader / Front Ports
•Temp / RPM Display
•Good Quality

Cons: •No PSU
•Large Size
•Could Be Styled More Subtly
•Optical Drive Must Be Mounted Before Power Supply

Other Thoughts: It's hard to find a Media Center style case in this price range. However, for the money ARK makes an excellent offering. The large size permits the use of a standard PSU in the proper location, (not in the front like some cases) which helps aid airflow. Basically a tower system on its side.
