Antec 900 Ultimate Gaming Cases

Antec Nine Hundred

The Most Versatile Gaming Case Ever!
Ultimate gamer case? You bet! With a partially perforated package that still finds room for four huge yet quiet fans, you have a seriously cool gaming case, and that's no joke. You can expect the Antec 900 to be ready for lift off, especially with the 200mm TriCool exhaust fan and perforated port atop this stylish case. Even mount a 120mm fan on the side panel! Contrary to some expectations, this case is extremely quiet, unless you have all the fans going at their highest settings, at which point you might hear...something.

The 5.25" bays will hold optical drives, burners, or even (gasp!) your aging floppy drive, and up to six 3.5" drives can be installed in cages behind the fans, arranged along the front any way you like. This case provides a plethora of possibilities, with room to explore new configurations of all the pieces. The PSU, in a departure, is at the bottom of the case, for better stability and thermal environment for the CPU.

The side window on the case, in addition to letting you show things off, provides additional ventilation, either by way of the vented screen or by the fourth fan in the box mounted into plastic for a clear and elegant installation. This is a sturdy case built of steel, with enough cooling technology to keep things frosty in the hottest action. Take one home today and build yourself the "coolest" rig around!

5 out of 5 eggsStop giving this thing 5 Stars.

Pros: Yeah it's great. It does everything just fine.

Cons: I can't watch a movie, and have contact with the mother-ship at the same time anymore. And unless i stab the LED lights out with a sharp probe or something, i can not easily turn them off.

Other Thoughts: Yes, I have many other thoughts thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsAntec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower

Pros: Excellent box with plenty of fans to keep it cool. Can accommodate very large video cards. My son has had his for 5 years and has had no issues at all, so I bought one myself for a rebuild. I would recommend this case to anyone.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsNice case with a couple small drawbacks

Pros: Looks nice and solidly built. USB 3.0 is nice to have right up front. Comes with 4 fans for plenty of airflow right out of the box with additional room for a side fan and (although, rather unnecessary) an internal fan. Just an all around rugged and solid case. Another very nice feature if you swap coolers or CPUs fairly often, they cut out the back behind the MB for easy access to the back side of CPU. A great feature because you don't have to remove the MB just to swap out your cooler.

Cons: A little limited inside on space (see other thought below). The optional interior fan housing is a bit in the way as well, limiting the internal size even further. A large graphics card will basically run from the back of the case to this fan housing and takes a bit of work to get the card around it. Cable running is a bit of a chore with only two very small holes in the back to access the back panel and they are so close to each other they hardly seem necessary at all. Due to this cable issue, the beautiful window they place on the side becomes more of an eyesore than a glorious display of your hardware. You can't hide the cables, so you can see everything hanging inside; not very pretty! (Get a modular power supply to cut down on this!)

Other Thoughts: All in all, a great case for utility, but leaves a bit to be desired in space and cable management. ATX board is pretty much exactly the size of the inside of the case, so if you like a little more room for cable runs and/or to just get your hands in there to work, you may want to look for something bigger. Lots of air flow but no cable management.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case

Pros: Great airflow, lots of fans, ease of motherboard installation

Cons: Fan connections are all three pin, need at least one adapter

Other Thoughts: The case is fantastic once all the fans are working.

There are some advertisements for this case that I think are misleading. Not necessarily on this website, but some say that the fans for this case come with molex connections for directly connecting to the power supply.

All four of the fans, however, had 3-pin connections, implying that they connect to the motherboard system fan ports. The motherboard only has three system fan ports, and the top case fan did not reach one of the ports, so I bought a molex adapter for that one.

Now they all work great. Other than that, the case is fantastic.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Had this beast for over 7.5yrs now. I see they're still selling them, and for good reason I imagine. With all the space it gives i've had no problems putting 3 different builds into it. Its great and keeps your cords nice and neat, doesn't matter what the manufacturers specs are on the hardware you buy are, this case can fit them all easily.

Which goes a long way to keeping your temps down with the excellent air flow, and your blood pressure low as its a breeze taking components out and putting them in without fear of banging them or your fingers into stuff. You want to run multiple hard drives? No problem, stack 'em up.

Its built real solid too, which was a plus during the times i've had to move. Honestly I'd be more worried about the floor than the case and anything inside it if you drop it.

Also the little things are nice like the upward facing USB ports and that little space on top is a perfect spot to set your headphones or a controller without any fear of them falling off... especially when the controller has a Rumble feature and you forget you have it plugged in while playing a game with Keyboard and Mouse.

Cons: Can't think of any. All the stock fans are still working and they're still pretty quiet even at max spin, not silent, but quiet.

4 out of 5 eggsGood case for the money

Pros: Nice design. I like how the USB connectors and headphone/mic jacks are angled up. Includes fans that run quite. Beefy connectors on the inside. Can hold lots of drives. My MB doesn't have USB 3.0 connectors, but the front USB adapters on the case can be used with 2.0 also.

Cons: The power cable for the top fan was too short for my MB. You might need to buy an extension cable or a molex adapter/splitter. . The sides are metal, but the top of the case is plastic and it scratches easily. Antec only included 1 2.5" FDD drive bay adapter. There goes my dual FDDs!

Other Thoughts: My PC is ancient, but still runs great for what I need. The old case was falling apart though, so I thought I would try this one. Great little case! Smaller footprint than my old one, but seems to be more roomy on the inside. Got it when Antec was offering the rebate, so was a good deal at the time.

5 out of 5 eggscouldn't ask for more (update)

Pros: i bought this case nearly 7 years ago have over 18.2 k hrs on it (2.08 yrs) and it has been nothing but solid. Solid construction , solid performance . Thumb screws have been great and dependable for all the changes that have been made and all the times taken apart to clean it . Allows a very large amount of airflow through it and all but top fan can be reversed if needed.(that too might be able to be reversed never looked ) If you want a case and possibly the last case you may ever need to buy this makes the short list . i have had no issues fitting any video card I have put in here .

Cons: not as much a con but an observation is that it lets you know that you live in a dusty environment as the dust will show on the front of the case, letting you know when to clean it , Mine sits on a carpeted floor so that impacts the dust.

Other Thoughts: Having the 3 speed fans lets you adjust to your needs on all low its nearly silent, medium you can hear it but it is no louder than any other case i have heard and not loud enough that you cant whisper over it , never tried high even with 2 blowdriers (gtx280's) i never put them past medium the 2 gpu fans were way louder than rest of case and I have a fan on the side cover slot. Just recently after all the use has one of the fans started to make a little noise, i took it out used some silicone lube and back to normal. I plan on buying another one when I do my next build and giving this to my wife i think in another 5 yrs ill write another review.

1 out of 5 eggsDid they fix the buzzing front head port audio?

Pros: I have 2 of these cases that I've used for pc builds. Wire management was good, lots of space and everything felt durable.

Cons: I'm not sure if this issue has been fixed but there is a feed back problem with the audio on the front header ports. For instance if you use a headset from there you'll constantly hear a buzzing going up and down as power draws. There's quite a few posts on the net with people more knowledgeable than me who have diagnosed the problem and fix via re-wiring & soldering.

Most disappointing is I requested a replacement header port a year ago (December 2013). I've traded emails with Antec support (tickets) where I've constantly been told the replacement parts are not in stock yet. But yet they continue to buld brand new cases so I suppose they are just blowing me off and have no intention of sending the replacements.

Other Thoughts: The run around on the replacement parts will have me looking elsewhere as I'm planning 2 new builds currently.
