Antec 900 Ultimate Gaming Cases

Antec Nine Hundred

The Most Versatile Gaming Case Ever!
Ultimate gamer case? You bet! With a partially perforated package that still finds room for four huge yet quiet fans, you have a seriously cool gaming case, and that's no joke. You can expect the Antec 900 to be ready for lift off, especially with the 200mm TriCool exhaust fan and perforated port atop this stylish case. Even mount a 120mm fan on the side panel! Contrary to some expectations, this case is extremely quiet, unless you have all the fans going at their highest settings, at which point you might hear...something.

The 5.25" bays will hold optical drives, burners, or even (gasp!) your aging floppy drive, and up to six 3.5" drives can be installed in cages behind the fans, arranged along the front any way you like. This case provides a plethora of possibilities, with room to explore new configurations of all the pieces. The PSU, in a departure, is at the bottom of the case, for better stability and thermal environment for the CPU.

The side window on the case, in addition to letting you show things off, provides additional ventilation, either by way of the vented screen or by the fourth fan in the box mounted into plastic for a clear and elegant installation. This is a sturdy case built of steel, with enough cooling technology to keep things frosty in the hottest action. Take one home today and build yourself the "coolest" rig around!

4 out of 5 eggsGood Product

Pros: Pros:
- Solid and strong case, meaning your computer case will not set on fire like a plastic case.
- nice layout
- manufacturer gives you so many extra screws and items for this case

Cons: cons
- not enough space
- fans are quick to fail
- terrible to clean fans for dust, terrible to clean out dust especially when the fans conch out so fast.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend you buy this product but do so at your own peril. Buy extra fans, It took mine 2 years to fail.

I really enjoy the quality of the metal but I would like antec to integrate the new plastic hard drive clips and to make an easy design to remove and clean the fans in the front of the case. i paid 150 dollars for this case 7 years ago but I would have paid an extra 100 if they designed it better.

below is an excellent product of antec that incoporates my ideas however the case is plastic and is prone to being set on fire. I wish the company made the case below steel with the link below design.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent case

Pros: The case looks great with the blue LED's on the front of the fans. Nice way to show off a new PC build.
There was plenty of rooms and options to move and configure the case to exactly how I needed.

Cons: Fans are 3 pin controls. Not a big deal if you know it up front, but I had a little trouble finding that but did know before I purchased.

4 out of 5 eggsLike it enough to use it again.

Pros: This is a nice-looking functional case; haven't had any major issues with it after nearly a year. The multiple fans are not too noisy, and keep the temperature down nicely on all but the hottest days (and they do get pretty hot around here--I don't blame the case for the few times I had heat issues this past summer.)

The tray on top is handy (I use it to stow an external HD) and the blue LED's are quite lovely.

ETA: I am still happy enough with this case three years later that I've decided to use it for my new build. The updated USB 3 ports on the front panel are a nice touch. Should have noted in my original review that the side panels are very easy to remove and replace.

Cons: Cable management can be an issue, especially if you have many drives or other devices that require bays. Rat's nests easily form between the MB, PCI cards, and power supply at the back and the bays in front, making working with the cables difficult.

On the other hand, there are enough bays that unless your PC is really loaded for bear, a little careful planning and arranging will give you empty bay space where cables can be tucked and not impact your airflow too much.

Minor annoyance: the small, apparently purely decorative cutouts on the top at the front collect dust. So does the tray and the angled front panel with the USB, audio and firewire ports.

ETA: The last one was built for me by a friend, so I've never taken the whole thing apart to customize it before. In doing so, I can understand why someone who builds many computers might not care for it. Nothing is tool-less, and there are a lot of screws. But if you're just building one PC once in a while and possess a screwdriver and a bit of patience, it's still perfectly serviceable.

Video cards have gotten larger over the years, and a large one or a dual setup may require some creativity to work around. The drive cages tend to get in the way, but they can, if necessary, be moved, or even removed while still keeping the attached front fans.

I would probably not recommend this case for a water-cooled rig, especially if you've got the aforementioned large or multiple GPUs, though I'm sure it could be done.

Other Thoughts: I don't think I'd recommend this case if you intend to stuff it to capacity with multiple drives, dual graphics cards and the like. I've got one PCI Express card (my GPU,) three hard drives and a BD combo, and I'd hesitate to put any other cabled components in without removing one of them. But for a simpler setup, it's fine.

A modular power supply is an absolute must.

A note on dust: I noticed a fair amount of it had accumulated on the case's perforated front grates in just a few days, though not too much was evident inside, so I built custom dust filters for the front panels (I used several layers of fiberglass window screen; it works well.) Not sure what the interior would look like at this point if I hadn't. The front of the case is recessed, which makes it pretty easy to fit them in place. I also purchased a simple Rosewill dust screen for the side panel cutout, and find that quite satisfactory too.

I covered the ports on the front panel that I don't use with black electrical tape to keep the dust out, and it blends almost invisibly with the case finish. Since I open the case fairly often, I'm using the same stuff to hold the side panel in place rather than messing with screws all the time; it fits snugly enough in place that I don't worry it'll fall off.

ETA: Haven't fired my new build up yet, but it appears that the rear fan on the current 900 is no longer LED lit. NBD, I moved it to the back of one of the drive cages and replaced it with an LED Rosewill model.

3 out of 5 eggsA nice design with a few issues

Pros: - Good airflow with lots of intakes.
- Easy mounting.
- Nice HDD mounts including a built in SSD mount.
- Plenty of hardware.

Cons: - Due to the intakes a lot of dust will be built up in the case quickly.
- Within two weeks the top mount exhaust fan broke down.
- The front mounted fans could have been connected together to save a fan slot on the mobo.
- The case also arrived with a minor scratch on the clear plastic side panel.

Other Thoughts: - A nice case with a few manufacturer issues.
- Be ready to RMA if you find issues.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat and easy to setup

Pros: Lots of cooling. Didn't need additional cooling system with all the fans available for my set up. CPU stays cooler that my previous setup.

3 out of 5 eggsAn aging case.

Pros: I really want to say great things about this and many of the Antec line of cases. They have served my customers and my family members for at least a decade.

Cons: In 2008 I wrote a review on an Antec 900 case and gave it 5 eggs.... this is not the same case! The top 200mm fan in the original 900 was an LED fan.... this one is not, instead they LED the back 120mm fan. The HHD front panel led light on this model that I purchased just this month doesn't work. The front panel 1394 connector that should go in the punch out next to the USB 3.0 sockets is not installed. For close to a decade I have purchased Antec cases for many of my customer builds, and for a while they actually improved many of their models. Antec.... let's get back to quality control, innovation of functional designing, and great lighting that made your gaming cases such a hit years ago.

Other Thoughts: The front panel should have a power LED and a working HHD LED. What about a spot for closed loop cpu water cooling solutions in multiple sizes and lets get some more splashy lighting variations, and lets leave that grey interior behind for a coat of flat black. You can be great again.

5 out of 5 eggsSturdy and Roomy

Pros: -Roomy enough to fit everything including an EVGA Nvidia 980 card, no problem.
-Plenty of airflow.
-Made of very solid materials.
-Wonderful price.

Cons: -I'm not one for fancy lighting and windows, would like to find an option to turn off all LEDs on the fans.
-Too much going for this case, my motherboard just couldn't keep up.

Other Thoughts: I bought this case but didn't think to see if my motherboard could support everything on it. Luckily, there are always ways around that with extra cables and cards. The case itself is rather silent and the little tray is nifty. Over all, a great case. I love Antec cases.

4 out of 5 eggsGood solid case, easy to work with

Pros: cooling, cooling , cooling, plenty of drive bays, has back plate access to CPU for a aftermarket CPU cooler, customization fairly easy
well built , sturdy

Cons: Ok so these are issues i had but non that i couldn't over come to far
i had to move my drives around to fit my GTX950 SSC
because of all the fans in the drive bays theirs a few extra screws over normal cases,
i havent found a easy way to remove the top fan to clean it.
only real issue i had is cosmentic and thats WIRE management its very hard without drilling holes, but theres a ton of videos online on how to manage it better

Other Thoughts: I love this case, a friend had this case and wasnt useing it and gave it to me, so at the price of free amazing
I have a MSI Z97 G5 , fit perfect
i would recommend this product , however there are alot newer cases for the same price,
at this point in CPU building its more of a cosmetic choice.

5 out of 5 eggsCool looking case

Pros: Have had the case for over a year and still looking cool.
Has Lots of room for fans.

Cons: Could barely fit the BFG tech GTX 260 in this case but that card is one of the biggest from Nvidia.

Other Thoughts: I am going to buy another one for my next build.
