Ultimate gamer case? Just maybe. With a partially perforated package that still finds room for four huge yet quiet fans, you have a seriously cool gaming case, and that's no joke. You expect the Antec Nine Hundred to be ready for lift off, especially with the 200mm TriCool exhaust fan and perforated port atop this stylish case. You can even mount a 120mm fan on the side panel! Contrary to some expectations, this case is very quiet, unless you have all the fans going at their highest settings, at which point you might hear . . . something.

The 5.25" bays will hold optical drives, burners, or even (gasp!) your aging floppy drive, and up to six 3.5" drives can be installed in cages behind the fans, and these can be arranged along the front any way you like. This case provides a plethora of possibilities, and room to explore placement of all the pieces. The PSU, in a departure, is at the bottom of the case, for better case stability and thermal environment for the CPU.

The side window into the case, in addition to letting you show things off, provides additional ventilation, either by way of the vented screen, or by the fourth fan in the box, mounted into clear plastic, for a clear and elegant mounting. This is a sturdy case built of steel, with enough cooling technology to keep things frosty in the hottest action. Take one home today and build yourself the "coolest" rig around!

  • newegg 200mm TriCool Fan The Antec Nine Hundred features a unique top-mounted 200mm TriCool exhaust fan to cool even the hottest systems.
  • newegg Superior Expandability with 9 Drive Bays The Antec Nine Hundred’s nine drive bays provide three possible configurations including 3 x 5.25-inch external and 6 x 3.5-inch internal drive bays, or 6 x 5.25-inch external and 3 x 3.5-inch internal drive bays, or 9 x 5.25-inch external drive bays. With the included 3.5-inch drive bay cover and Floppy Adapter, install a floppy drive in any 5.25-inch drive bay as well!
  • newegg Transparent Side Panel Window The Antec Nine Hundred's transparent side panel window provides a direct view of the inner system and a 120mm fan can be installed on the side panel for maximum heat dissipation.
  • newegg Extreme Airflow and Cooling The Antec Nine Hundred features one 200mm TriCool fan on the top, two 120mm front blue LED fans, one 120mm rear fan and optimized internal airflow for peerless cooling performance.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent, but not without problems

Pros: Nice looking

Relatively innexpensive

Lots of fans

Nice, platic ended screws, so you don't have to use a screw-driver for everything

Big

window

Cons: AWFUL 2.5'' drive mounting

Not only can you only mount one, but it's a royal pain to mount that one.

2.5" drives get mounted at the very bottom of the case, literally pressed against the bottom, so you have to try and get your SATA cables plugged in, when you have literally less than half an inch of space to work with. HORRENDOUS design flaw!

Other Thoughts: They really should have just included some brackets to mount SSDs

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Ample space
4 Onboard fans
USB 3.0 on the top front panel

Cons: Uses screws/thumbscrews for everything (hard drive bays, panels, etc.)
Only a couple of holes for cable management

Other Thoughts: I would have preferred this case to have more holes for cable management, and use releases for the panels.

Also, the case I received was bent on the bottom of the back panel. I was able to fix this easily, but one of the feet is still not level with the other 3. Makes me question the QA department of the manufacturer...

Manufacturer Response:

Hi,

We're sorry that your case didn't arrive in flawless condition which it should have. We're more than happy to work with you on this as well as with any questions you have regarding cable management. You may contact us at VIP@antec.com and we'll have someone get in touch with you. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: The airflow on this thing is awesome.. with the 2 up front low 120s and the larger 200mm and the 120 in the back for exhaust its all you need. I have yet to play while OC'n but my comp stays very cool when I turn everything to high graphics and thats all i can ask for.
awesome cable management (i put all the power and extra cables in the back case and on the drives side where you can't see. hides everything well.

Cons: Theres no manual and I'm slightly confused on what this little plastic piece elbow looking thing is used for... also the inside is grey, not a big deal at all too me but for some people that may be.

Other Thoughts: Never going to buy another case again.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case, but Antec made changes that I don't like!

Pros: I've built several computers using this case, and have seen its evolution over the last couple of years. It's always a great case and gives the PC lots of ventilation and airflow. The pull-out drive bays make hard disk installation a snap.

Cons: Their product engineers need to leave well enough alone:

They don't put enough standoffs and screws in the package anymore if you happen to get a 9-hole motherboard. It wasn't a problem if I hadn't ran into one with a new socket FM1 board from MSI.

They decided to change the fan connectors to 3-pin mainboard style connectors. That's all well and good if the mainboard has enough connectors on it. They need to include 3-pin to MOLEX adapters for the fans in case the board doesn't have enough fan connectors.

The fans included aren't smart fans. They're dumb fans with smart fan connectors on them and speed controls. For the price of the case, they should be including fans that can be controlled by the mainboard.

Other Thoughts: People complaining about the cable routing in this case just need to bundle them up with some velcro and pull them to the side. I've managed to get a very neat appearance to the cabling without hiding it.

5 out of 5 eggsTech level vs. the 900

Pros: Awesome case. Great cooling. Easy install. Quiet

Cons: Like every case ever made, cable management.

Other Thoughts: I have owned the first 900 for years (bought when it cost $150+) and I agree that without filters it is a dust magnet and needs a regular cleaning to remove any build up. But, for cooling and stability, I have never owned a better case. With a proper CPU cooler and proper mounting of the HD"s no one should have a problem with heat build up in this case. I look through the reviews and see a lot of complaining about the lack of a manual. Why? The 900 is a standard build HAF or NZXT (both of which I have used.) If you're a noob you may have a little trouble figuring out where all the cables connect to the case and motherboard but, anyone that has built before should have no trouble. Fan noise, set the controller selector to the second selector, not high. If you have a good CPU cooler the rear and top fans will dissipate the heat and you should never get over 70c. Just to recap, maintain your case with a regular cleaning, buy a good CPU cooler, and set your fans on medium.

4 out of 5 eggsGood case

Pros: Good looking, roomy, and cooling is great.

Cons: Cable management is very poor. Once i put my mother board there were NO places to route my power cables to the back of the case. Now I have a giant ball of cables in my computer.

Other Thoughts: If cable management was better this would be a five egg review. Other than that con it is a great case.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent Case - Poor customer service

Pros: Case is light-weight, looks cool, and has sufficient cooling. Manual case-fan switches are also very much welcomed (L/M/H settings).

Cons: Front audio cables are very poorly insulated against interference. Because the PSU is situated at the bottom, if your mobo has its front-audio connections near the bottom as well, chances are you will get lots of static in your headphones/speakers if you are plugged into the front.

One day upon trying to disconnect the audio cable to wrap it in foil myself, I accidentally broke one of the wires on the plug. Went through Antec's warranty replacement and they said they would send me a replacement front audio console for free. That was 2 months ago. After the first 3 weeks I sent them an email saying I haven't received anything and they said they would try again. Its been another month since then and still nothing.

Other Thoughts: Antec cases are nice but if you ever need a warranty replacement, be prepared to either look elsewhere or simply live with whatever defect your case came with.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great looking case, plenty of space for all your components, and plenty of fans to keep it cool.

Cons: Reset button is largerthan power button, but thats not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: Looks great with a lighted psu or fan. Make sure your mobo supports usb 3.0, or you will not have any usb ports in the front.
