Antec 900 Ultimate Gaming Cases

Antec Nine Hundred

The Most Versatile Gaming Case Ever!
Ultimate gamer case? You bet! With a partially perforated package that still finds room for four huge yet quiet fans, you have a seriously cool gaming case, and that's no joke. You can expect the Antec 900 to be ready for lift off, especially with the 200mm TriCool exhaust fan and perforated port atop this stylish case. Even mount a 120mm fan on the side panel! Contrary to some expectations, this case is extremely quiet, unless you have all the fans going at their highest settings, at which point you might hear...something.

The 5.25" bays will hold optical drives, burners, or even (gasp!) your aging floppy drive, and up to six 3.5" drives can be installed in cages behind the fans, arranged along the front any way you like. This case provides a plethora of possibilities, with room to explore new configurations of all the pieces. The PSU, in a departure, is at the bottom of the case, for better stability and thermal environment for the CPU.

The side window on the case, in addition to letting you show things off, provides additional ventilation, either by way of the vented screen or by the fourth fan in the box mounted into plastic for a clear and elegant installation. This is a sturdy case built of steel, with enough cooling technology to keep things frosty in the hottest action. Take one home today and build yourself the "coolest" rig around!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case

Pros: it has good space for smaller builds, but it wont fit a large graphics card without moving some stuff around. it has amazing airflow and the built-in fans have 3 settings so you can adjust them if they're too loud. i also added 4 more fans just to optimize airflow. while the bays are kind of a pain they help with sturdiness and if you have to change something you don't have to take a lot of other stuff out to get to it.

Cons: the same problem as a lot of other: no dust filters. but for 12 bucks i got some that work great and weren't that hard to put in.

Other Thoughts: ive only had it for a few months and the only issue i have had is the dust. but once i got the filters and blow it out every so often like you should anyway, its not a major issue, just an inconvenience.

3 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely not worth the money compared to other cases

Pros: I bought two of these cases, one for my personal PC and one for my brother. The cases were great at the time, however after owning them for 3-5 years and seeing the evolution of case design and standards I felt I needed to leave a review on this case, because in my opinion, this case does not deserve a 5 star rating. There are SO MANY cases that you can get for this price ($90 or even the sale price of $70) that are significantly better.

-Great airflow, seriously...that top fan.
-Solid build quality
-looks great

Cons: Where to begin? I feel like the case industry has just moved on and has much higher standards than when this case first came out. Things such as tool-less installation, better cable management, better support for things like radiators, etc... all come standard on many cases, even at the 50 dollar price range. Regardless, this case has some issues that make it something I would never use for a new build.

1. The drive bays are attached to the front fans and come out as an entire unit, which does not come out easily. Each of the 2 drive bays has eight thumb screws that requires you to take off both side panels(4 screws per side). I ended up just putting 2 screws on one side for each drive bay so that it was easier to do maintenance.

2. Zero dust filters, and both cases i bought, collect dust like crazy. My brothers case has had both front fan stop working from, I would imagine, the dust(not faulting the case for my brothers lack of maintenance). To replace those fans annoying because you have to take the drive bays out and the fans are in a compartment that you have to take apart through unconventional(by PC case standards) methods.

3. No support for radiators. Its not a big deal to me, however this is just so common now, even for 50 dollar cases, that I see it as a reason to skip this case in favor of a different one.

Other Thoughts: The case functions just fine, and I wouldn't say its a horrible case, however the bottom line is you can get so. much. more. at the 90 dollar price point that I could never recommend this case to anyone anymore and even felt the need to write this review and give it 3/5 stars.

4 out of 5 eggsVery efficient case

Pros: I had previously owned the Antec 300 and although I was satisfied, I I had some minor gripes about the case. A friend of mine swears by Antec and this product was rated very high, so I tried Antec's high end case and I must say I am very, very pleased. Even though it's a mid tower, the case is very roomy and is very easy to disassemble. I was able to assemble my new computer in under an hour because of how easy it is to fit all the pieces into the case. The airflow is very good, when you turn on the machine and put your hand in the case, it feels very cool inside. Lots of room and also very stylish.

Cons: Really none

Other Thoughts: Highly recommend.

1 out of 5 eggsMuch Better Choices Out There Today

Pros: Very high airflow.....that's about it...

Cons: Interior chassis not painted, no dust filtration (and because of high airflow it collects dust like mad), the fans are a PAIN to change out.

Other Thoughts: Boy, when I bought this back in 2008 I loved it. Now it is left behind by much better cases out there

5 out of 5 eggsAntec Case

Pros: This is the case to have. I like how you can interchange the bays, that is great. The side panel with the window is great. Which I prefer myself. The motherboard fits easily into the case with no problem. I like the power supply that is on the bottom and the Atec power supply that I installed looks great. It is the case to have.

Cons: Have no cons on this case.

1 out of 5 eggsNo longer a fan of Antec

Pros: Good airflow, room for big cards, quiet

Cons: Faulty USB 3.0 ports, Poor customer support, difficult disassembly

Other Thoughts: This is my second rig built using an Antec 900. The first one has had no problems for 7 years, but the recent version I bought in November has faulty USB 3.0 ports on the front. One doesn't work, and the other doesn't register as a 3.0 port.

A little research determines that there have been several problems with the 3.0 USB ports, most related to faulty hardware.

A call to customer service directed me to the website to generate a ticket, where a less than helpful rep by the name of Enrick Calalang posted this gem of a response...

Hi Jeff MacIntosh,
The 900 USB Modules have been out of stock since April of 2013, I would recommend getting an aftermarket one. Unless you're willing to wait? No one knows when they're coming, if they're even coming...

Something similar to these
(Rep posted two links to aftermarket Rosewill USB hubs here)

So let me get this straight, they have been out of stock since April of 2013? I bought this in November of 2014. Poor excuse to not honor a warranty or replace a defective part. Needless to say, this will be my last Antec case. I am very disappointed in how they handle known problems
