The Antec NSK2480 case is the first desktop case in their award-winning Solutions Series. Designed for locations where space is at a premium, the case combines quiet computing with environmentally friendly features. The high-efficiency EarthWatts 380 Watt ATX12v v2.2 power supply is certified 80 PLUS and has Active PFC (power form correction) to help you save energy and money. Silicone grommets and rubber feet isolate drive vibrations and reduce noise.
The case's external styling will easily fit into most entertainment units and compliment your other electronics. The case fits micro ATX motherboards along with 2 front-accessible 5.25" drives and a pair of internal 3.5" drives. Two side-mounted 12cm TriCool 3-speed fans draw air out of the case to keep the components cool. Three internal chambers isolate the PSU and hard drives. An adjustable baffle system lets you maximize airflow.
Construction is 0.8mm cold-rolled steel and internal surfaces have been carefully crafted to prevent scratched hands while working inside. Cable management is a breeze with strategically placed holes and pre-mounted wire ties. The hole leading from the power supply is adjustable to reduce the amount of heat and noise that escape into the component bay.
Pros: Quiet. Good Looking. Great case for a HTPC build.
Cons: Not sure that it is worth the extra money over the original NSX-2400.
Other Thoughts: Every once and a while you stumble across a product that was designed by somebody that was really into what they were doing. This is one of those. This case was a colaboration between Antec and a guy that writes online reviews of silent PCs. There are so many little tweaks in this case that add to the experience that I will probably never find all of them. This case is pretty much designed to work with an ASUS M2NPV-VM motherboard, a Scythe mini Ninja CPU heat sink, and a low wattage processor. You almost don't need to run any fans in this configuration. The co-designer has a big article on this case that is a great read if you want to fully appreciate this case. http://www.silentpcreview.com/article591-page1.html

Great HTPC Case
Reviewed By: Gabe on 11/4/2007
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
Pros: Clean, simple lines which fit in well with other HT components. Well designed interior organized to deal with space constraints and airflow issues. Good power supply.
Cons: The paint on the outside is easily scratched, so be careful when tilting the case or messing with the exhaust fan screws. It's also tight, sizewise, so be careful when choosing your components.
Other Thoughts: I chose to pair this case with a Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H motherboard. If you do so, realize that the SATA connectors don't face upwards, but rather outwards directly into the side of the case, with < 1" clearance. I've heard that others were able to bend their cables and jam the mobo into place but I was worried about breaking something. Cables with 90 degree connectors will work, but you need to make sure they're going to point out and UP, not out and DOWN (which was the case with the two I ordered. Even with those, you'll only be able to use two, since plugging them in while block the port above or below it. I ultimately took my Dremel to the case wall and cut a hole out, so I no longer have any fit issues.

Good overall, but fans old and noisy compared to 2009 fans
Reviewed By: mkchiu on 1/30/2010
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Uses high efficiency Antec-branded Seasonic 380W P/S. Usable and efficient internal layout. Remove one screw to remove the top of the case. Wide case "legs" and other anti-vibration details.
Cons: 3-speed fans are relatively noisy or inefficient (noise/CFM). Unit received is either a customer return or (front) scratched from factory--I don't pay attention enough to see it beyond 1m.
Other Thoughts: I'll probably buy another in another few weeks or the shorter Antec NSK1480 (low profile cards only).

Very well designed, can't go wrong with it
Reviewed By: Wade on 12/11/2009
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Internally, it is very well designed. It 3 compartments for the power supply and DVD drive, for the motherboard, and for the hard drive. Included are 2 extra cable ties that are like the ones you get with a power supply. This makes it easy to get good air flow in the motherboard compartment. The hard drive compartment uses thick soft rubber grommets to eliminate hard drive vibration noise. Clearly, the people who designed this knew what they were doing. This case also continues Antec's tradition of virtually silent cases.
Cons: The included power supply only had 2 SATA power connectors. The two were on the same cable as well. Antec clearly forgot that even many DVD drives are SATA only now. This is a huge negative because one of the reasons for buying Antec cases is because of the included power supply.
Other Thoughts: It gets 4 eggs and not 5 because of the power supply's lack of SATA connectors. Still, using this case reminds me why I love Antec products so much. The case is better suited for a server than for a HTPC because it can only support 2 hard drives.

good value HTPC cases
Reviewed By: gigadude on 12/10/2009

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Cheap include 380 power supply.
Cons: Silver front plate and black body. Must be designed by a developer and not someone know anything about HT rack. Most home audio equiqments are black. Antec sells a similar case all black but no power supply and a lot more $$. Fans better off in the rear rather on the side.
