Antec’s Nine Hundred case was acclaimed for its combination of style and cooling design. The Twelve Hundred is an evolutionary improvement that capitalizes on the original design and adds even more for a design that can take whatever you throw into it. Even the largest 10.5” graphic cards like AMD’s Radeon HD 3870 x2 and Nvidia’s 9800 GX2 fit into any of the 7 expansion slots within its cavernous interior without limiting hard drive placement within any of the 12 bays. Mini ITX, Micro ATX or standard ATX motherboards likewise fit with ease.
A pair of three-speed 120mm blue LED fans exhaust heat out the rear of the case while a 200mm fan does so through the top. The speed of the fans, can be controlled from the outside of the case. Space and mounting points are provided for two more 120mm fans – one in the middle to cool the CPU or graphic card, and another bringing air in through the side panel to cool the expansion cards. Knockouts for liquid cooling systems are built in as is a platform for a reservoir or pump.
Because excess heat will kill any system, the case is designed to maximize cooling. The perforated front bezel offers maximum air intake by the trio of 120mm blue LED fans that pull air through the washable air filter. The front panel is finished off with top-mounted I/O ports for easily connecting an eSATA and a pair of USB 2.0 devices along with HD audio inputs and outputs.

Lovely
- Pros: This bad boy does what it is suppose to with some nice cable management features to boot. With 7 120mm fans ( 2 optional) and 1 200mm big boy installed, My whole set up runs about 2-4Cs colder over my 900. The back panel fan control for the exhaust fans are also very nice.
- Cons: Doesn't cook.
- Other Thoughts: I had very little trouble if any getting this case together. This thing cools anything immediately around it. I'm getting chills just sitting next to it.
Antec HAS NOT listened to their customer!
- Pros: BOOOOO to Antec!
- Cons: Regarding Killer's review a view posts earlier: Antec has not listened to their customers! Only select boxes of the Antec 1200 received extra fans because those cases had possibly faulty fans mounted within them. I recently received this from an Antec representative explaining why my 1200 had not come with those optional fans:
"It has come to our attention that recent production of Tri-Cool fans may suffer from a minor defect in the speed control that prevents some units from working properly at the low speed setting. As the problem was discovered in post-production Quality Control there is no way to determine precisely which units suffer from this issue without opening and testing tens of thousands of cases. So, in the interest of customer service and satisfaction, Antec has included a complete set of new, fully tested Tri-Cool fans with this case, free of charge.
If any of your pre-installed fans suffer a performance problem, you can simply replace it with one of the units"
- Other Thoughts: He then finished up his email to me:
"We’ve since corrected the problem, so the need to include extra fans is no longer required."
He then proceded to link me to where I can purchase them off of their site for TWENTY DOLLARS A POP! So post shipping $50+ to complete my matching fan setup... slap in the face considering you can get their clear counterparts off of here for 10 bucks each plus the shipping, so ~$20ish cheaper.

Manufacturer Response:When we were including additional fans with this case, there was a piece of paper with it that stated the reason for their presence. Many people do not read the paperwork that comes with products they purchase, and this can result in confusion. Purchasers who receive a case with possibly faulty fans will have spares already included with the case. If the case has known good fans, as yours does, then we will include only the fans described in the NewEgg product specifications. The reason we link to our own site for parts is that we don't want to be seen as biased in recommending one reseller over another, and we know for sure that we have stock. Fans Fans Fans!
- Pros: Using this case to house my 10TB server for just shy of a year now... never had a heat issue, this puppy keeps all my drives cool and running. The individual controllers for the top and front fans is a major plus. The cable management also provides for excellent airflow throughout the whoel case. The way the fans are placed make an awesome wind tunnel cooling system. The top fan on full blast is powerful enough that I can feel it when I sit at my desk!
- Cons: My biggest gripe with this case is the filters. You need to take the case side off and unscrew the HDD units to remove the filters for cleaning. Just annoying enough for 1 egg. The mesh cover for the top fan was also bent in slightly, so the fan would grind against it. I blame the shippers for that one, and it was easily fixed with a narrow flat head screwdriver anyway. Also, this case is HUGE. I had to modify my desk to get this bad boy to fit in my computer shelf with less than .5" clearance on top.
- Other Thoughts: Take heed of the measurements of this case and plan accordingly. If you have a lot of drives, or just need real good airflow, GET THIS CASE.

Vigor Monsoon fits...kinda
- Pros: After coming from a generic full tower, I have to say that there are huge improvements.
1. Dropped the temp on my 9800 gx2 almost 20degrees. I had a sunbeam transformer case (budget at the time) and in that case I had to underclock gx2 to the lowest it could go, with the fan on 95%, and it would still overheat and shut down playing l4dead, and last remnant after 15 minutes. Now at 70% i over clock and the temp still stays in the low 70's. Before I had a quarter inch clearance, now i have much more room
Vigor monsoon III finally fits, but i had to do a lil mod. First, it fit without the side fan, but when i added one, i had to chop off about an inch worth of plastic on the fan (not the fan blades) because the monsoon was taking up that needed space, which kept the door from closing.
Space for the cables and wires is spectaco.
Very solid, doesnt feel like it will break.
Dust covers are nice addition.
Lots of room for expansion slots, and extra fans, which i maxed out.
- Cons: In order to clean the dust filters, you have to take off both sides of the case, and unscrew everythang, just so that you can clean them. You spend 5 minutes unscrewing, just to spend 10 seconds cleaning the dust filters, and then 5 more minutes putting everythang back together. That is epically a huge downfall, bcuz i would like to clean them more often. I got the procrastinator way and use a high power vacuum (attachments) and run it over the fans, but it still doesn't clean them all of the way bcuz the cage is an inch from the fan. Accessibility should be much easier.
Maintenance is a pain so i took an egg off
Can't distinguish between mic and headphones.
- Other Thoughts: If you can afford it, dont waste money on a generic full tower, i did, and in the long run i paid more money than i anticipated. Im glad i bought this finally. It was either this or a coolermaster cosmos, and i heard that the monsoon wouldnt fit the other case, and so i chose this.

Nice Case
- Pros: This case is sturdy and very cool. I did plenty of research before settling down on what case I wanted. I really like that the front fans have a screen in front to block dust and animal hair. The adjustable fan speeds are really nice as well. Plenty of room for my motherboard and EVGA 295 graphics card.
- Cons: None. Came with all parts, nothing broken.
- Other Thoughts: This case is massive. I had a full tower for my last computer and this thing is about 2 inches taller.
- The cable managment options are very nice.
- It's built like a tank. Feels very sturdy and stable.
