Meet the LanBoy Air. Nearly every part on this case, even the motherboard and PSU mounts, is modular and customizable. Up to 15 exhaust fans create positive air pressure inside the case that blows dust and heat out through panel perforations. Up front, the LanBoy Air's AirMounts HDD mounting system literally suspends drives in mid-air for unsurpassable vibration and noise resistance. Along with its two internal 2.5" SSD bays and a front-panel USB 3.0 port, the LanBoy Air is the last word in high-flexibility PC case design.

  • newegg Fully-modular Design What highlights the LanBoy Air is its modular design allowing highly customizable installation. Nearly every panel, including the motherboard tray and the power supply cage, can be removed and relocated to suit your needs.

5 out of 5 eggsTHIS IS THE BEST CASE YOU COULD EVER WISH FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: It has FANTASTIC air flow, and HANDLES. Oh thank goodness for the handles. The hard drive is suspended by bungee cords, which is really nice. This is by far the best case I have ever seen. Especially since I travel from my boyfriends house to my house a lot and drag my computer back and forth, the handles are the best part for me. They are strong enough that I can lift my computer on just one handle, they also click into the case so they don't flap around. The air flow on the case is fantastic. I've been using this case since 2011, and I maybe have cleaned it out twice, and when I did there was barely any dust in it.

Cons: If I leave my computer on over night, the lights light up my room so because the case is so open. But really there isn't any.

Other Thoughts: Great size, sturdy build, and plenty of room for everything.

5 out of 5 eggsAbsolutley love this

Pros: This case is amazing not heating issue at all. It has tons of fans for a simply amazing cooling experience. Everything runs cool and its design is amazing. Handles at the top for east carrying/moving. You can move the fans anywhere. Perfect for water cooling with mounts on the top to screw the fans and heatsinks and spaces for the hoses in the rear of the case. The hard drive is basically hovering in the air right in the flow of the intake fans. Plenty of space inside. Mother board installation with the pull out tray is simply cake.

Cons: Not sure if these are cons but I will put them in here just o be safe. I live in southern Utah and it is very dry and hot here in the summer. And this thing collects tons of dust. However it very east to spot with this case. I simple weekly cleaning with some air and a vacuum and it is all good.

The power supply casing has a big metal piece going down the middle of it and it seems it may block airflow if your PSU. I cut the middle piece off with a dremel and it now blocks very little airflow. I was afraid of modifying that piece but it was easily cut off.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far

Pros: This case is very easy to work with, has plenty of space and just looks great.

Cons: None, I have had no issues with this case and have been using it for almost 2 years and 2 complete rebuilds.

Other Thoughts: I never did really get into case modding but I loved the look of this since I first saw it. It's functional, easy to use and it's portable - to an extent :)

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Case

Pros: Very easy to setup. I really like the fact that the hard drive location you can have it like a door so its easy to remove or add drives plus you can have the drives in two different ways where most cases only have one way you can put drives in

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case

Pros: Slits on the sides allowed me to pull my pci power cords outside the case and suspend them so that the side would not bend/push them down on the card then the bottom slit allowed me to tie said cords so that they would not lay on the heat pipes of my hd 7870

comes with 5 blue led fans each with two speed setting controllers.

since the case is pretty much full mesh you can install non 120 mm fans if you are a bit creative. I have a 80mm fan installed as an intake where one of the SSD mounts are on the bottom and still have enough room for one of the 2.5 inch drives to be mounted there.

PSU cage, seriously need to become a standard on cases.

did not have too much difficulty with cable management, but if you max out the fans I dont really think you need to worry about perfecting it unless you are going for aesthetics.

the rubber feet on this definitely have a quality feel to them.

Air flow is nice.

Cons: its yellow, after purchase I found out it came in red [ and blue i think] but newegg does not carry it.

nowhere to place case badges, well the larger ones anyways, ended up putting it on top underneath the front handle. [lol]

Front USB 3.0 is FAKE [plugs into rear i/o]
Manual is online but who doesnt have a second computer to look it up with.

Other Thoughts: the fake usb 3.0 did not make me too happy. I dont know if I overlooked it in the description or what but it cost my review an egg, otherwise I would have done 5 eggs.

This case is huge, and im glad since i barely got all my parts to fit, seriously a tight fit inside due to my absolutely huge graphics card

even under load the air pushing out feels pretty cold and i have only added a 80 mm fan and the 2 water cooling cpu fans [which freed up the rear exhaust, but i think it was set as an intake as shipped...]
I can feel a lot of air pushing out the top, and not much pushing out the sides This case does not fight the natural heat flow but rather works with it.

overall I'm very impressed.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome case

Pros: Cool looks
Lots of airflow
Removable plates everywhere
plenty of fan options
USB 3 on the front

Cons: The USB3 on the front requires a pass through cable, doesn't use a USB3 header on the motherboard
Top mount for liquid cooling radiators conflicts with the motherboard, not enough room.
Not the best case for cable management.

Other Thoughts: This case is fantastic to put a PC into, the plate for the motherboard is easily removed so you don't have to screw the board in inside the case, plenty of customizability enabled me to work around the issue I had mounting my Antec Kuhler 620 radiator.

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost there

Pros: I love the design and the 'openness' that this chassis offers.

Cons: Unfortunately upon receiving the case I have not been able to do anything with it - as Antec seems to have forgotten to include any of the required screws.

Manufacturer Response:

Hey Dan,

Please email us at VIP@antec.com and we'll send you the screws. Not sure why your unit didn't come with any but let's get this taken care of. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsSpectacular case / looks great

Pros: Fun and easy to assemble all your hardware. Can configure many ways. Case air flow. The air mount HDD suspension. H20 ready, although it would be unnecessary, case stays cool. Looks Great!!

Cons: Lots of airflow = Lots of dust.

Other Thoughts: First build, specs: i7-3820; Corsair Hydro H80 CPU cooler; Asus P9X79 Deluxe MoBo; PNY Quadro 4000 video card; Corsair Dominator 16GB; Kingston Hyper X 120GB SSD; WD Black 1TB; 1Asus Blu-Ray burner / 1DVD/ROM; Powered by a Corsair HX850; OS Windows 8 Pro. Almost forgot the 4X Cooler Master red led case fans, making a total of 9 fans. Will be adding more fans in the future, not for cooling just for fun and looks. After owning pre-built machines in the past this case made first time build fun, and will never buy a pre-built again.

5 out of 5 eggsModular or easy to mod?

Pros: If you are reading these reviews, you're likely doing the same thing I was: Looking for clues to the level of modularity this chassis is capable of. Personally, I have the Red/Black version, but they are all the same in form and function. I'm sure you could find any of the known colors of this chassis by alternative means if they are still not available here. Anyway, key points of modularity are:
1. PSU mounting can be swapped above or below the motherboard.
2. Front fans can be relocated up or down in one-bay increments.
3. Front rack can mount up to 12 drives, but at most three 5.25" drives unless you buy more brackets from Antec directly. They are very cheap though!
4. Front rack side panels are actually doors if you leave the screw off, this allows sideways mounted drives. Only a small handful of chassis offer sideways drive mounting, and only this one offers both.
5. Base of the front rack has two SSD mounts and comes with soft rubber supports and dedicated screws. SSDs will mount facing the front or back.

Now for liquid-cooling options:
1. Rear exhaust port offers plenty of room for almost any 120mm radiator, the only possible exception being the Black Ice GT Stealth X-Flow due to having fitting points on both ends. Mounting a radiator here means fittings on top.
2. Both front rack side panels have proper spacing for up to triple-120mm radiators if you carefully drill-out the fan mounts. From here you could achieve push-pull with even an AlphaCool Monsta 360mm rad. If those air-mount brackets are in the way, they are easily removed. I have measured it out and there is exactly 200mm of usable space between both side panels on the front rack. Push-pull with a Monsta is 130mm, so you have plenty of room left for either a short bay-res or a tall tube res. You have 430mm to work with vertically if you still want to mount SSDs in the bottom. Yes these panels are plastic, but I have weight-tested them and they will easily support such a beast radiator.

Imaginations and theory-crafting:
Since this chassis is Yellow/Black, imagine the ASRock 1155 OC Formula board with Monsoon yellow anodized fittings, and a yellow fluid in clear tubing and clear tube res, along with yellow LED BitFenix Spectre fans. Imagine being able to do the same in the other chassis colors. The Lanboy Air is easily one of the easiest chassis ever to mod into an epic liquid-cooled PC.

Cons: Now the bad. I'm going to be just as critical here as my other review so get ready:
1. Motherboard cannot be inverted to the left side, the rails the tray is on don't have mounting points there. I'm sure this could be modded in with a Dremel though.
2. The entire frame is riveted together. Without serious modding, you wouldn't be able to transform this chassis into a respectable desktop form-factor without just converting it into a make-shift testbench.
3. The right side panel behind the motherboard tray is see-through. You'll want to cement in some custom-shaped black acrylic to prevent seeing your horrible cable management.
4. Cable management will be horrible since you cannot pass cables through to the front rack without going around the inner frame bar, and there are so very few tie-down points and only 15mm of room to work with.
5. Forget the top fan mounting points. They do not exist. Please, just leave it at that and move on.
...
...
You're sure? Okay... The top is recessed into the chassis so it's either right up against the PSU or the motherboard depending on your orientation. The screw mounts are raised to where the entire panel should've been, which leads me to believe Antec ONLY intended that to be used for an external radiator. It's so tight, only 13mm fans will fit respectably well internally.
6. Three fans included have molex pass-through and a toggle switch for high/low. The front fans however have a three-speed dial glued into their respective mounts, and the fans themselves are held in with clips. Well done Antec! Exclusive mounting and aesthetic for only that particular fan. Well done!
...
Okay, maybe I'm being a bit more cynical this review, but just as critical as promised!

Other Thoughts: I would like to point out that at the time of writing this, the Blue/Black, Red/Black, and Black versions of this chassis are unlisted and discontinued. If you'ld like to read my original review of the entire series, search Newegg for Antec Lanboy Blue and then search the reviews for the one by the same nickname. It wasn't anywhere near as nice as this one due to lack of foresight in liquid-cooling options. For this reason, I am changing my original 3/5 rating to a solid 5/5 rating. It's easily one of the best chassis ever thanks to how little effort it would take to turn a Lanboy Air into an epic liquid-cooled PC. I must reiterate something in a positive tone:
Well done Antec! Well done!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case...short on screws

Pros: The case is very modular and easy to work with.

Cons: This case would have easily gotten 5 eggs, but Antec only includes 10 long screws for mounting the additional 10 fans that can fit in the case. You can mount the fans with only one screw, but it seems flimsy. For a high-end case like this, I would have expected to have enough screws to ATLEAST use 2 screws per fan. I was forced to go to Antec's website and order an additional screw pack for 9 bucks. Shame on you Antec. NOTE: I was too lazy to research local companies that may sell these screws. If ya find one, it might help others out. I've saved all my extra screws from previous builds and nothing matches these screws. They may be an Antec special.
