Proving that a standard mid-sized tower isn't the same as an obsolete tower, Antec's SLK 1650 comes to bat. Housing three 5.25" and two 3.5" external drive bays, it hasn’t forgotten the internal hard drives that are so necessary today, leaving space for three 3.5" internal drives. It also gives easy access to the ports for two of your USB 2.0 devices up front. This case makes cooling a literal breeze. It comes with one 120mm fan located in the rear of the case for exhaust, a side vent for your CPU, and a vent in the front that can easily be converted to house an additional van.
This causes a constant cooling cross breeze over all your sensitive equipment, protecting them from the ravages of heat. The SLK 1650 supports ATX Motherboards 12" x 9.6" or smaller, with 7 PCI expansion slots in the rear. To set it above the rest, this case is made of steel to stand up with the bumps and grinds of day to day living.

Decent Case, but the P.S. Stinks
- Pros: Neat case, that all I'll say about it, its plain and mostly matches other biege items like drives. They have rubber cushions on the screws for the HDD cage which is pretty neat, the front fan enclosure is useful. Although that fat squeeze of their power supply nullifies most of the benfits of there top drive design.
- Cons: Rear fan will die within a year to a year and a half. Period end of discussion, most of our customers do not even know about the fan so they don't tell us. The lubricant insode the fan is the problem. We just disassemble and use super lube after a cleaning, then works great. The power suppoly is got to be one of the worst on the current market. We are at one-sixth of all deployed systems now having a replaced power supply in the first year of use. These are Point-of-sale terminals, not gaming rigs. These power supplies should last ten years under these conditions, its a cake walk inthe park comparatively for load pressure. Will be moving to something else. We had inthe last two years 1500 about units of these ship. One-sixth, that is a high number for that many units shipped.
- Other Thoughts: There is no benefit to usign these over anyone else. Also, Antec is now making it harder to RMA things, wonder why, anyone see the reviews of the Antec SP-350 on this site? Antec has not got game anymore, go somewher else.
Bad power supply
- Pros: It's a nice case with a well thought out interior layout.
- Cons: This is the second SLK1650 case we have. The first had slightly warped panels and was missing the power cord. The second was in good shape, but the power supply failed after a week. I think Antec has to improve their quality control.
- Other Thoughts: I've been using Antec cases for a while, but my recent experiences with the SLK1650 may mark the end of that relationship.

Power supply may be a problem
- Pros: Sturdy and easy to assemble.
- Cons: Have bought 3 in the past 2+ years. One power supply failed without damage to other hardware / software. It is possible that it might have got overloaded when I changed the processor from a Pentium to Pentium-D.
- Other Thoughts: May be an excellent choice when power requirement is low.
It is possible that they have corrected the problems with the power supply in the newer models. However, I am not going to buy this again.
Nice solid case
- Pros: It's a great starter case for anyone to use. It also has excellent cooling and a descent power supply.
- Cons: The power supply could be bigger, but it's enough for a Dual Core X2 3800+, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 250GB 7200rpm Drive, & a 7600GS 256 meg card.
- Other Thoughts: I've always used Antec cases as of late and I've never been disappointed!
Works Well - Built for friend
- Pros: It's a case - not much to it. Power supply sufficient for what I put in it. Runs quiet, front USB and lights work fine. Keeps machine cool.
- Cons: none.
- Other Thoughts: wish they made the same case in black.
