3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent looking case; extremely quiet. Much lighter than previous Antec cases like the P180. Great clean looking case. Antec Support was very responsive and agreed to ship a new front panel.

Cons: Case came with the front snapped off.

Other Thoughts: 1-2 weeks for the panel to be shipped from Antec is a little frustrating, but since this case was bought for internal use and not for resale, it's not a deal breaker.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent case, great value

Pros: Case dimensions permit installation of most any video card(s) or CPU cooler. HD/SSD easy in/out. Cable routing options very good. Ease of access for PC building is better than most cases. Quiet enclosure with stock fans, still pretty quiet with WC, although pump is noisier than most fans at normal speed.

I was concerned about the 3x120mm stock fans providing adequate cooling. With an added 240mm WC taking up the two top fan positions I relocated the 2 top 120s to front of drive cage, so I now have excess cooling capacity.

Stock Antec fans are pretty decent. I have a 7-year-old Antec 900 that's run 24/7, fans set on low or medium speed, all four stock fans still functioning without any signs of quitting.

Cons: The side doors are large and have a slight warp/twist , causing them to spring right off the sides when you remove the second thumbscrew. Would prefer them to stay in place until I got hands on to lift out of way.

Bottom air intake for PSU precludes placement of the P280 directly on carpeted floor. Must use a piece of wooden board or something rigid to raise off of carpet. I went nuts and built a custom dolly with vent and casters sourced from local hardware store for ~25 bux. Better solution would be for Antec to include elevating casters in future P280 design revision, or even taller feet.

Other Thoughts: This is nice, quiet, adult-styled case. Received rebate in less than 4 weeks, no hassles, final cost <80 bux. An excellent value.

This is my second Antec case, and I like this one much better than the old 900 without the blue LEDs. The P280 is superior to the 9/12 series in terms of space/cable routing and possibly their equal cooling-wise if fans are added. P280 has front and bottom easily removable filters which may reduce cleaning frequency and cost of ownership in terms of quantity of canned air required to keep this box clean.

5 out of 5 eggsIts big

Pros: Its big but I knew that before I bought it.I have a MSI Z97 MOBO,MSI GTX 750 Ti which is long but no problem,1 SSD,2 HDD,1 DVD burner,750 Watt PSU and besides the 3 fans it came with I added 2 more 120s.Going by the gadget on the desktop it runs between 120 and 130 f.Overall it is well made, the side doors dont flex,it is very quiet. There is still a lot more room in it for more stuff.

Cons: When it arrived the box showed no signs of damage but when I got it out of the box one of the feet was broke so I called Antec and I explained the problem and it went out in the mail the next day and was here the day after that.Im not going to deduct any eggs because Antec was very good about taking care of the problem.

Other Thoughts: The shipping was very fast and got here in good shape. Thanks again Newegg for another good job.In my opinion you people that work for Newegg are #1.

5 out of 5 eggsVery quiet, rock solid

Pros: This case is very quiet and stays cool! I've had it for a little over two years now and has survived two moves with me. I would definitely buy it again though I wish it came in a slightly smaller form factor - I have an SSD, an HDD, and a DVD-RW in it and it just looks empty. Solid constructions, tons of space inside, great looking, ports on the front, just love it.

Cons: It's very heavy which is either a pro or a con, depending on how you look at it. Annoying to move around.

Other Thoughts: I had issues getting the faceplate for my motherboard to sit correctly on the back of the case so my mobo is basically hanging open in the back.

3 out of 5 eggsDented case but intact box

Pros: nice case with plenty of room and nice cable management

Cons: Same as other reviewers have pointed out, the case I just received has a significant dent on the top, and some of the paint even came off, but the box it shipped in was in good shape. I am not sure the reason behind this. I hope that this is not a refurbished item being marked and sold as 'new'

5 out of 5 eggsCan't think of a real flaw

Pros: Plenty of room, very easy to work with; padded, slide-out brackets and cable holders abundant. Muffles noise just fine. Room/cable management contributes to decent airflow.

Cons: Might be a little larger than whatever size you imagine it is.

Other Thoughts: Have 1 at home, 2 at work, easiest to work with case I've had so far.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case...Big

Pros: Layout is great, which makes working inside it easier. Cable management is wonderful, keeping the cables away from the parts, making it, again, easier to work around inside. Easy to remove dust filters.

Cons: It...is...BIG! May need longer cables to make all the connections, but worth it.

Other Thoughts: Definitely won't fit into a small or standard sized desk. Had to remove the door and the top drawer of the desk to make it fit.

Added Antec's TrueQuiet fans for more airflow, ventilation, and quieter fans.

Great case and highly recommend!

5 out of 5 eggsA quiet, clean and simple looking case!

Pros: The P280 is QUIET compared to my previous case which was the Antec Three Hundred. The 1TB WD Caviar Black emits a lot of noise to the case. With the anti-vibration mounts for the mechanical drives make a world of difference. The sound dampening materials keeps the internal noise inside also makes the overall feel of the case solid.

The sleek looks makes the P280 classy, especially with the front brushed metal door. The door hides the 5.25" drive bays and the two front 120mm intake fans. The door also leaves plenty of space on the sides and bottom for the front intake fans.

This case includes lots of cable management holes with plenty of room behind the motherboard tray. Useful if you have a non-modular Power Supply. The cable management holes also have rubber grommets to protect the cables from tearing on the metal edges. The black interior is a bonus.

Cleaning Dust filters is a breeze as the front dust filter can be easily removed without having to remove the front cover on the case. Also the PSU dust-filter on the bottom of the case can be removed from the outside without having to remove the side panel.

Cons: My only complaint I have with the P280 is lack of ventilation.

While the rear ventilation holes are great, the two intake fans aren't good enough to create positive air-pressure inside the case as there are three exhaust fans to fight against. I have a reference Nvidia GTX 660 Ti graphics card exhausting hot air to the back of the case. This maybe a problem as that hot hair from the graphics card gets sucked back in the case through the rear ventilation holes causing the graphics card to heat up at unpleasant temperatures.

My solution was to preposition the top two exhaust fans as intake fans to create positive pressure inside the case pushing that air out through the rear ventilation holes. Although it isn't recommended to use top fans as intake fans as heat rises, it solved my major heat issue happening at the back of this case.

Other Thoughts: I would highly recommend purchasing two quality intake fans as this cause only comes with three exhaust fans.

The P280 has a simple design, removable dust filters with easy access, awesome cable management, black interior and is noticeably quieter compared to other standard cases. The only con is lack of ventilation.

3 out of 5 eggsCheap fans

Pros: Great price for such a spacious tower. Definitely does not lack the airflow capability.

Cons: cheap fans.
I bought two of these, and out of 6 total fans, three of them have started making loose bearing style noises and I replaced them with cheapo cooler master fans that have yet to ever fail me.

Other Thoughts: If I didn't need these amount of PCI slots for the machines I built, I would of went with a Fractal Design Define R4 for a similar price. They are quieter too.

3 out of 5 eggsA Little Disappointed Coming From the P183.

Pros: Great design. Very spacious. Lots of place for fans, HDDs, etc. Great cable management. Doesn't have any useless rice/junk features. I didn't want a case that has stupid blue LED lights or a huge side panel window; this case is sleek and mature looking. Power/reset button on top is a welcome change from P183.

Cons: I guess I'm a little disappointed with this product. For starters, the case doesn't sit flat - the back left rubber foot is off by a little bit and the case will wobble if you press it. It seems like the bottom of the case got bent to cause this.

My previous build used an Antec P183. I guess I am a little spoiled by that; I think that is the best case hands down. The build quality is noticeably cheaper on this case. Plastic is used for parts that were metal in the P183, such as the HDD sleds. The front door magnet is also too weak in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, this is a great case, I was just expecting another P183.

Don't get me wrong, I like the case, the quality is noticeably lower than previous Performance One series cases.

Other Thoughts: As I mentioned, the back left foot is misaligned, so the case does not sit flat. I would return this case and try and get a new one, but that is too much of a hassle. I guess I loved my P183 too much and expected this to be better, but it simply is not.

Case is also quite big, that can be either a pro or a con.
