5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good case for $50, not much else to say. I have never been disappointed by Antec in the ~10+ years I have bought their products and I'm still not. I will continue staying an Antec customer for my cases and PSUs.

The case is VERY light, UPS said my package weighed 10lbs and they must have been out of their minds. I'd be shocked if it weighed more than 2.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: Not a con, but it's obvious this was made for micro ATX. It only comes with standoffs for microATX preinstalled, and regular ATX covers up some case management holes in the backplate. Not a big deal.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Looks good.
Not heavy by itself.
Looks like it has decent wire management.
Spacious.

Cons: So far, issues with rebate. First request was declined and I'm afraid my second will be declined.

Other Thoughts: I'll be honest and say I only bought it because of the deal. $24.99 with free shipping after $20 rebate. You can't get a much better deal for a case like this. Now I'm going through the all-to-common rebate troubles you hear about. Not Newegg's fault, though I really would like to see distributors honor manufacturer warranties.

Otherwise, this seems like a solid case and when I get to it, should be a fun build.

5 out of 5 eggsWould buy 50 times over again.

Pros: Case has plenty of room, space for cable management, great airflow - many vents. Comes with 3 fans. That's SUPER nice. Easy drive installation, comes with fan speed regulators, PSU dust filter, airflow filter on front. 2 USB 3.0 on front. AWESOME CASE. I would buy this case over anything, especially because of how cheap it is. Arguably better than many high end cases. The top and front vents are removable for easy cleaning, etc. That's awesome too.

Cons: SSD tray - space for SSD is on top of the HDD slots. Strange however...you might want to mount the SSD on a 3.5" bracket. The 2.5" thing on the top of the drive bays is weird, and the SATA cable cannot be attached to the SSD unless the SSD is upside down (this is what I did).

Motherboard speaker did not work with my board, however I didn't care about that - got it all right the first time.

The unmarked molex cable is for the fan speed regulators, and gets power from the PSU. It took me probably 20-30 minutes to figure this out, and then I felt like an idiot. Not really much of a con...

That's pretty much it...it's a pretty much perfect case.

1 out of 5 eggsRevision to my earlier review

Pros: The case looks cool

Cons: After just building a system with this case, I'm revising my earlier 5 star rating. They have absolute junk ALUMINUM MB standoffs that you can't even get a proper screw into, the threads were just..BAD. I tried 3 of them, then I pulled them out and replaced them all with decent standoffs. Two of their standoffs were cross threaded when they put em in and they were just spinning in the holes, I had to pull up with pliers to unscrew them.

The card retainer screw holes on the back were horrible, I basically had to push and force screws to cut their own threads through the paint/half threaded holes.

The connectors for the top and back fans connect to extensions and the connectors were so cheap the first time I moved them they fell out of each other. They didn't SNAP together at all they just sat inside each other and a small shake would just make them fall apart.

One of the top fans RATTLED in the bearings, not cool, made a nice little annoying rattle when running. I removed both top fans and replaced them with good CM fans.

The front fan mount holes were filled with paint and two of them weren't even threaded properly, same deal up there had to force and push the screws to cut a half-baked thread to get them in properly.

The front filter for the fans is barely removable, you have to yank it out so hard you think it's going to break because where it inserts is slightly defective and bowed in enough to jam the filter. Unbelievable.

About the only good thing about this case is the appearance. I have NEVER had to fight so much with a case to build a system and I've built many.

This thing isn't worth 10 bucks.

Other Thoughts: Take a pass on this one...it's just sooo cheaply built that even for a low-budget build it isn't worth it. Thin metal they couldn't even thread properly, painted screw holes, junk standoffs, bad fans, bad connectors. Good Lord!!

Antec makes a few good cases, but this is the most horrible excuse of a case that it doesn't compare with the cheapest case out there.

NOT recommended. Either spend a little more or pick ANY case out there at any price and it will be better than this one!

4 out of 5 eggsVery Good For the Price

Pros: It's inexpensive. It is not that heavy. Good cooling case with 3 size 120mm fans . Good looking. Plenty of room inside. Space for plenty of disks. Good cable routing. USB 3 front. Large cutout on motherboard tray for CPU cooler installed. 3 pin fan connectors.

Cons: -The face of the cd drive does not display nice!
- Can not reuse the PCI plates in the back after you break them.

Other Thoughts: My Build:
-Antec GX500
-CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W PSU
-8GB GKill RAM
-MSI Geforce GTX 650OC 1GB VDDR5.
--PNY 240 GB SSD.
-HGST 1TB HDD.
-Intel I5 4670K.
-ASRock Z87 Extreme 4.
-Thermaltake V1 Max-Performance CPU Cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat budget case!

Pros: Great case good lay out tons of space.
very thick metal and great front panel i/o.
has usb 3.0 but who doesn't?
love the lay out I know its not a big card but fits my hd 6850 with enough room to have another behind it (big enough for a r9 290x/7990/680ti/titan/780ti.
comes with great cooling, two 120mm fans at the top and one 120 mm rear exhaust fan has room for another 2 120's in the front and comes with a 3 pin fan controller with a switch at the top of the case for low high and off(would've liked to see a mid setting but oh well).
tons of room for cable management I have a total rats nest of cables in the back (rest of build looks tidy though!)

Cons: doesn't bring me red bull.
Out of all seriousness the front panel feels some what cheap don't get me wrong i love it i would bet smacking it with a keyboard though.
NOT PACKAGED WELL VERY ANNOYED I received it with a small dent on the side panel. it was thin enough metal were i heated it with a torch and popped it out looks fine now.

Other Thoughts: It is one of the better cases i have owned. smacks around the 30$ logisys Ive bought in the past. i would recommend for soho(small office/home office) builds or a simple gaming rig I have 2 one is my main gaming rig another went into a file server for a small local company.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Case

Pros: I have been building computers for about 10 + years. Rarely take the time to review parts unless they really stand out.. For the money this is an excellent case. It comes with 3 fans (two on top, one in back). It has good cable management, USB 3.0 removable front, and top panels for fan/ filter cleaning. I have built 1000's of machines and can honestly say that for the money, this is by far the best bang for the buck I have seen in a very, very long time. No clear side panel which for most people doesn't matter.. Its roomy, has great ventilation and looks a lot more expensive that it really was..

Cons: Wish it was cheaper, and came with a PSU :)

Other Thoughts: You wont find a better case for the money, Im really surprised at the price point that they are selling this case it can easily sell in the 60-70 dollar range.

3 out of 5 eggsAntec GX500 Black Computer Case

Pros: Neweggs price and rebate.
Delivery was quick for free shipping.(3 days).
Decent case with extras. Fan controllers, Semi tool less drive installation, 3 fans. Nice feet on the bottom, keeps it off the carpet. Front panel and bottom dust screens. Removable top and front panel for easy clean. USB 3.0 or 2.0 cabling for the front panel. A little rounder on the edges than most cases.

Cons: It is a budget case. The largest gripe I have is the product was misrepresented for it's size. It is not 8 inches plus wide. The case body is 7 inches. The side doors each have a 7/16 in. protrusion in each. This means no large CPU coolers. The dimensions given were the sole key to my purchase.
Cable management: Very basic. A modular PSU is mandatory as there is no room for extra cables to be hidden. A 4+4 pin EPS12V cable will not fit between the motherboard tray and rt. side door. 4 pin alone is tight. Cable was run overhead with a extension cable, strapped to sticky pads with zip ties. Case is more suited for a micro ATX board. Front of a full size ATX board (12.6" X 9.6") is right at the optical and hard drive bays.

Other Thoughts: Intentions were to install a Asus X58 board powered by a i7 950 in this case. The cooler and cable problem restricted it. Shift gears, since I really like the case, decided to install my Asus Z77 system in it out of my Antec 300. A swap, and problem solved. Modular PSU, smaller board, and less cooler.
Runs very well, cool, 22C, quiet.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat potential but falls short

Pros: -Looks sleek.
-Nice cooling setup.
-comes with 3 fans.
-LED's are pretty nice.
-Case wiring is very good.
-One thing I noticed is there was a tag on the wire that showed how to setup the USB 3.0.
-Really liked the tool-less Hard drive slides.
-Price was very good. $44.

Cons: -The first thing that bothered me with this case was that when I installed the CD Drive something didn't look right. The face of the cd drive is flat and the front bezel of the case is rounded. They just don't display nice!
-In addition to the previous con. I found that using the tool less screws for the CD drive you could not push the drive enough to the front of the case.. again aiding the front no longer looking nice!
-The second thing that bothered me was like previous reviewers i had much difficulty with the threads on some of the screw holes.
-The PCI plates in the back are very poor. You have to bend and break the plate off in order to use the slot. Be aware if you have a capacitor in the way, you might not be able to bend the plate off. Honestly, In this area I would have expected more from antec.
-After them plates are off you basically have to self tap your own screw holes. So If your installing a video card be sure to force thread in your screw first then try putting the card on.

Other Thoughts: I've had cheapo cases before and I had quality cases. I have had an antec 900 and a 1200. My biggest gripes with them cases were they were too open and they allowed for too much dust. This case seemed to be better in that matter.
-The layout of this case is very nice. The rooming and wire management was very good.
-I thought I was getting a deal on a superb case. Turns out I was buying a Good case at a good price.
-If your new to building and are looking for a first case. This at that price point is a great first option. However... For an enthusiast . You best look past this one.
