The Thermaltake V3 Black Edition is coated in black from the inside to the outside, lending it stylish looks and a degree of individuality. A transparent window at the back end of the left side panel allows for a look inside the case. This way the brilliant blue beams of the pre-installed 120mm rear exhaust-fan can emanate in a black-bluish array. A perforated black mesh front panel offers optimized airflow and a sleek design.

As characteristic for all Thermaltake chassis, the V3 Black Edition is also optimized for most effective airflow with the option for 3 additional case fans: the front panel allows you to add a 120mm intake fan, the top panel offers the possibility for a 120mm exhaust fan and on the bottom is room for yet one more intake fan. The standard ATX PSII PSU can conveniently be placed at the bottom of the case where you find an intake exhaust hole to immediately blow cold outside air into the PSU. An extra dust filter is attached to this fan hole in order to keep dust and dirt out of the case and the PSU, effectively prolonging your power supply’s lifetime.

With dimensions of 430 (H) x 190 (W) x 473 (D) mm the V3 Black Edition is a conveniently sized mid-tower that still offers more than enough room for system upgrades and expandability. There are four 5.25” and one 3.5” bays accessible from the front, and further four 3.5” and one 2.5” bays are accessible from the inside. Peripheral connectivity is given through the implementation of two USB 2.0 and HD audio connectors for MIC and speaker at the front panel.

  • newegg Supreme Expandability with 9 Drive Bays Featuring four 5.25" external drive bays, and five 3.5" drive bays (one external and four internal), the Thermaltake V3 Black Edition provides supreme expandability.
  • newegg Efficient Ventilation The Thermaltake V3 Black Edition features a mesh front panel to maximize airflow of the inner system. A rear 120mm blue LED fan improves interior airflow and looks simply amazing too.
  • newegg Tool-free Installation The tool-free design ensures quick installation and upgrade for expansion cards, 5.25" and 3.5" devices to save your time. Start enjoying computing rapidly!
  • newegg Convenient Front I/O Panel The convenient front I/O panel enables easy access to two USB 2.0 ports and two audio ports.

4 out of 5 eggsSick case

Pros: Keeps all the parts together and looks pretty sick. Power button has a nice satisfying click

Cons: Some of the metals are warped and bend easily plus some of the screw holes for the fan vents aren't properly measured. But these aren't really huge problems. Area inside is a little tight but workable.

Other Thoughts: Overall, still a strong and good case

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome case

Pros: Simple, light, durable, well designed with great flexibility of configuration.

Cons: Not a big fan of "butterfly" clips used to hold drives in place, but luckily you have the option to bolt them down if you want.

Other Thoughts: One of the best cases I ever owned (and I had my share of those). This one is light and super easy to work with with plenty of room for all kinds of stuff. Basic in design - but that's the whole beauty of it. After 1 year of usage I gave mine away to a family member after I broke his heavy old case in transport, but I still miss it dearly till this day.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent case.

Pros: Case is decently built for the price and has good airflow. Plenty of vents for more fans.

Cons: Poor cable management. Feels somewhat cheap.

Other Thoughts: Good deal for the price. I used this case for a build for a customer who didn't care about the case, just what was inside it.

3 out of 5 eggsPoor cable management

Pros: -Comes with a nice fan
-Simple
-Aesthetics

Cons: -Poor cable management
-Not enough room to work

Other Thoughts: This case looks really nice however there is hardly enough room to work. When installing my motherboard i had trouble screwing in some of the screws at the top because there was not enough room to fit the screwdriver. Also, if you plan to have top fans they must be incredibly thin.

This case has absolutely no room for cable management and i could only route a few wires through the back side of the case, the wrest have to be stuffed at the bottom. This means there is no room for additional drives.

5 out of 5 eggsForty dollars of excellence

Pros: Cheap...modders delight...who's afraid to hack and slash a forty dollar case?
It's light...it's black...scratch your chin, think a little, save your hard earned dollars and spend the money you save on hardware...

Cons: Ignoramus reviewers with self appointed 5 star tech knowledge who can't figure out you can move the fans twords the door and get them ALL in...simply by using the other screw holes...

ARRGH, Newegg, give me the ability to upload simple pictures and help the assembled masses, ain't got time for a video...

Other Thoughts: Grills can be cut out with a simple pair of diagonal cutters making it cooler and quieter...with a tad more skill you too can slash the back of the case and hang the h100i out there with four fans...h60 fits in the forward top fan hole BUT you've gotta get the optical drive in the bottom drive bay...

3 out of 5 eggsA tad mod unfriendly/overall amazing case

Pros: Very nice looking case, high quality finish.

Cons: Be VERY VERY careful with some of your purchases for this case. Your motherboard sits pretty high in the case enough to where 2 of the 3 motherboards I have put in it have obstructed one of the top vents to where I couldn't put a 120mm fan. The psu is going to cover the 120mm vent at the bottom of the case so atm 2 of the 5 vents are unable to hold fans. I got a Antec H20 Cooler and tried to mount it onto the back 120mm vent location and the radiator doesnt have enough room to clear no matter how you turn it which resulted in me having to drill new mount holes a quarter inch from the existing holes just to mount it. The case comes with only one 3.5" tool less mounting bracket and one for a 5.25" drive.

Other Thoughts: If you don't plan on really adding a aio liquid cooling solution or putting 120mm fans in all the vents then this is the case for you, For the rest of you, might want to look at a bigger case, at least one that gives you loads of clearance.

5 out of 5 eggsLoved it so much bought a 2nd one

Pros: Great overall value
Everything fits well
Lots of expansion bays

Cons: None that I have been able to find thus far.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this case for myself a couple of years ago when I build my new machine. Everything fit inside perfect no hangups, no issues. Even with just the standard case fan (no additional purchased) My CPU and hardware temps always stay right in the Safe to Cool Range.

I liked the overall performance and value of this case that when it came time for my father to upgrade and build a new machine I bought him the exact same case. Neither one of us has had an issue.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Case

Pros: Light, feels sturdy and make installation of components very easy.

Cons: One very minor, my board POWER LED was only a 2 pin and the case's was a three pin connector. Had to cut in half.

Other Thoughts: Its been a long time since i built a pc, i have been a Mac user for such a long time. The last time i built a pc the power supply was mounted at the top and water cooling was just coming out. I was very impress with the simplicity of the case and the pre-form for the board and minimal use of stand offs. I also like Thermalake and they deliver good on the case.

1 out of 5 eggshorrible

Pros: looks good from the outside
cheap case
lots of reviews
good rating

Cons: after hours switching my hardware from old case to this case I finally gave up on this case. I don't think im ever going to be any more cases online, this case looks okay from the outside but difficult to setup. First my motherboard wont fit correctly and it is a new msi ATX and then my powersupply didn't fit easily aswell. After hours of forcing my hardware to fit when its suppose to fit easily. my computer is not booting up and I think its because of how my motherboard is on the case. I am not happy with this case and I do not know how it has all these stars with all the reviews and such. I am also forced to keep this case because if I RMA it, it would be point less when paying the shipping to ship this back

Other Thoughts: spend more money on a case and you may not have the same problem as me.
