The Thermaltake V3 Black Edition is coated in black from the inside to the outside, lending it stylish looks and a degree of individuality. A transparent window at the back end of the left side panel allows for a look inside the case. This way the brilliant blue beams of the pre-installed 120mm rear exhaust-fan can emanate in a black-bluish array. A perforated black mesh front panel offers optimized airflow and a sleek design.
As characteristic for all Thermaltake chassis, the V3 Black Edition is also optimized for most effective airflow with the option for 3 additional case fans: the front panel allows you to add a 120mm intake fan, the top panel offers the possibility for a 120mm exhaust fan and on the bottom is room for yet one more intake fan. The standard ATX PSII PSU can conveniently be placed at the bottom of the case where you find an intake exhaust hole to immediately blow cold outside air into the PSU. An extra dust filter is attached to this fan hole in order to keep dust and dirt out of the case and the PSU, effectively prolonging your power supply’s lifetime.
With dimensions of 430 (H) x 190 (W) x 473 (D) mm the V3 Black Edition is a conveniently sized mid-tower that still offers more than enough room for system upgrades and expandability. There are four 5.25” and one 3.5” bays accessible from the front, and further four 3.5” and one 2.5” bays are accessible from the inside. Peripheral connectivity is given through the implementation of two USB 2.0 and HD audio connectors for MIC and speaker at the front panel.
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: less than 1 day
Pros: -Nice finish -Fan slots -SSD ready -Window -Decent airflow -Bottom mounted PSU -Space -Included LED fan is very bright :D -Bezel in front is very nice -Dust filters on this case EVERYWHERE -Tooless drive bays/HDD bays
Cons: -The metal is a bit flimsy -When removing the drive covers and PCI covers they leave little sharp edges that need to be pushed down -Not a lot of cable management room but I wasn't expecting a lot
Other Thoughts: I had a choice of either this case or the Antec 300. Got this one because they were out of the 300. I am using this case for my first build and i really like this case it has nice airflow and quite a few 120mm fan slots. The fan that came with it is VERY good and it's nice and blue. If you plan on installing a fan on the bottom of the case be sure to have the airflow blowing out of the case or the fan blades will scrape the fan cover. Another thing is that this thing is pretty long for a mid (or at least from the ones I've seen) but that's good if your like me and want to use this as gaming case because you can fit up to 10 or 11 inch GPU without cutting into HDD bays which is nice because I've got a HIS 4670 and it fits fine. Sorry for the long review but i would DEFINITELY recommend this to a friend.

Clean looking case!

Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: This case looks great. Has great ventilation with lots of places for fans, even on the bottom of the case. Front panel connections are plenty long. Case is painted inside and out. Bottom mounted PSU has it's own intake and filter (unless mounted "upside down" which IS an option if you need that extra slack in the cables).
Cons: Pretty thin metal, but that's expected for the price. Quick mounts for the drives aren't great, and only secure the one side. I ended up just using screws. Doesn't come with thumb screws. Only comes with one fan, although this is pretty common (case will take at least 5 or 6 120mm fans) CPU cooler size height limitation is 160mm (6.3"). This isn't a problem for me since I am still using a stock heatsink, but you have been warned if you have a large cooler.
Other Thoughts: I really don't know what people are complaining about with removing the front panel, all you have to do is pull it off. It has metal retaining clips, so they are designed for semi-repetitive use. This is a pretty sturdy case for the price range and fit my needs perfectly. I needed a clean looking case, that still had a "gamer" appeal, for my personal media center build. The LED fan glaring through the little window is a bit annoying for this purpose, but that's an easy enough fix. All in all, I am very satisfied with this case, and wouldn't hesitate to buy again!

Great Case at the $50 Price Point
Reviewed By: .46caliber on 2/13/2010
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: Black interior. It makes the case look complete. The case looks more professional than cases that cost several hundred dollars because the un-treated metal looks so bland. It's as though the manufacturers don't take the last step because it's inside. Good airflow. Two top vents allow plenty of heat to escape. Simple clean design.
Cons: Finger prints. Use gloves when you assemble the parts in the case. If you have a fan that moves a ton of air, don't use it to cool the HDDs. Use it as an exhaust fan only. Grilles on the case will restric airflow enough that my 80 CFM fan that is normally silent makes noise because the airflow is so restricted.
Other Thoughts: Didn't buy this at Newegg. Local store was having a sale so the price was a bit better, it was small enough that I would have spent the extra for Newegg except for one thing...shipping. Cases have higher shipping costs cause of their size, so I will probably buy cases locally unless they are on sale with free shipping at Newegg.

Pros: Inexpensive. Roomy enough to work in. Plenty of ventilation and fan mounts. PSU mounting at the bottom of the case makes for better balance. The connectors for the front USB and audio ports are solid blocks rather than individual wire ends.
Cons: The frame is sturdy enough, but the sheet panels are pretty thin. The bay covers are just punched out of the mesh and folded, so they have some sharp edges. There is only one of each type of tooless drive locks included, so additional drive will need screws. The system to lock down expansion cards works well enough, but it's clunky and awkward to use reasonably often. If your CPU is mounted at the outer left edge of the motherboard, it will likely be difficult to access the outer pair of mounting pins on the heatsink. Mount it before putting the board into the case. A removable motherboard tray would be really nice, but it's a luxury at this price point.
Other Thoughts: More expensive cases will blow this away, quality and feature-wise, but for the money, it's pretty good. Take note, tho, that it ships in the retail box, rather than a extra-protected one. Mine came beat to hell. After getting Newegg involved, they replaced it promptly. Kudos, Newegg.

Pros: It seem to be a good case for now ... I'm not impressed
Cons: Cheap quality. Plastic tool-free cheap as hell ... broke 2 of them My micro atx board wouldn't fit ... The motherboard feets were weird... With my mobo installed or not, no way to put two fans on top... Not even one xD Side windows eh ? Not really .... Cable management is very basic ...
Other Thoughts: Go for the 300 or nzxt m59 two very good case for approx $10 more

Top fans in the way
Reviewed By: Case ajuster on 7/25/2010
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: This case is nice. I was able to run the wires behind the motherboard and on the side of the hard drive cage to make the inside vary neat and free from wires.
Cons: Motherboard is to high inside for top fans to be used. Thermaltake should have made this case another 1" higher so the top fans and motherboard can both fit or moved the top fans off center, closer to the side with the windows.
Other Thoughts: It looks like I can move the top fans to the left side with out to much drilling. I may write an up date after I do some work and let you all know, but as is, the top fans will not fit. I have been able to alter a lot of cases in my time to fit more or larger fans for better cooling.
