5 out of 5 eggsThermalTake V5000D Blue Buyer Review

Pros: this is/was a great case in its day. I'm making this review a decade post purchase. This has been a exceptional case for what i needed.

Cons: cabling, wires everywhere, the harness for this case is a monster and does not lend itself well to concealment.

Other Thoughts: if you come across one of these, make sure ALL components for the case controller are present. if they are, grab it... i love mine.

4 out of 5 eggsWell.....

Comments: This is a really nice looking case with too many features to list. The case weighs 34 lbs on arrival...its a beast. No help with the fan set-up. The idea is simple but the task is challenging. I ended up just setting them all to automatics purely to keep my sanity. Overall a nice piece of equipment.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case!

Comments: I bought this case a little while ago, and it had to be shipped overseas (where i live). It was in GREAT condition - the case is just huge, lots of room for everything. The only bad thing is that it took me and my friend an overwhelming 8 hours to put everything together, all the cables and fans and make it look good. If your thinking about buying it - GET IT! It look way better then on the pictures. Thermaltake did a nice job! And of course Newegg shipped it F.A.S.T !!

5 out of 5 eggsNo Regrets

Comments: This is one high quality case. It provides excellent cooling, offers more features than I can dream of, and is simply roomy enough to allow my hardware (and wires) breathing room. The features however come at a price. The price is time. It took me a while to get a hang of the screwless everything install. It took me half an hour to get my video card in because I did not know how to use the pci latches (the manual was not much help). The wireing also took a lot of time and re-doing. There are so many fans, sensors, and features (top USB, sound, and firewire ports; case open feature; etc.) that the wireing is almost overwhelming. Once you get through with the wiring it feels very rewarding. I am very thankful that this is not the first PC that I am building. My previous exprience helped a lot. I would recommend this case for any hobbyist who works out at the gym because this case requires a fair amount of strength to handle.

4 out of 5 eggs

Comments: The case is very roomy, have clip support so you do not have to screw in any drive. Only problem I have is that the thing is loaded with wires once everything is hooked up. They have sensor and data wires going to every fan and it took a couple clips to get it under control in there. Still have a slight problem with some fan/wire contact, but only when moved.

4 out of 5 eggsfor users w/ exp only

Comments: pros:
-beautiful case when everything is
done and works.
-very good quality material.
-easy to use tool-less features.
-do not buy unless you have built at least 3-4 computers prior.
-weighs almost as much as an air-conditioner
-gets quite hot inside cpu up to 55-60 C.
-one of the power switches attached to the case itself came loose and i had to fix it myself by unscrewing the external 3.5 housing.
-too many wires to tie together to fully show off your nice video/sound/mb cards.

overall, not bad, needed a little help setting up fans and the broken power switch.
everything is fine now that i'm finished.

5 out of 5 eggsLooks good, tough getting stuff in order.

Comments: I'll make this simple

What I like/Pros-
Exterior looks // Screwless installation on drives

What I don't like/Cons-
Weight // Wires (from fan controls) // Kinda loud (used to it already)

Neutral thoughts-
Size (hell, it makes my old dell look like a toy)

I love the case overall, takes forever to get all the fans hooked up to the fan controller, the manual really didn't help that much. So expect to take a lot of time hooking everything up. My computer inside is a mess, I should start re-organizing my wires. Other then that...all the work pays off.

3 out of 5 eggscomplicated setup, but good durable case

Comments: Durable and well vented. The fans that come with it are ample enough to keep the inside at decent temperatures.

I wouldn't recommend this case if this is the first time you're building your own computer. I never could get all the fan control knobs to control the fans they were supposed to. The instructions are sort of vague in the fan hookup area. I've had a friend who has built quite a few PCs, rearrange the fan wires inside and all the knobs still don't work the way they're supposed to. Only the two larger ones on the front of the case door work as of now, which is good enough for me.

It can get quite messy inside with all the fan wires going from fan to front controller knobs to power supply. If you like your case neat either get some cable ties or don't get this case.

Oh yeah, and it's heavy, but what did you expect for a steel case?

The USB ports on top are a nice little convenience.

It also glows nicely in the dark, but not enough to keep you up at night or anything.

Other than the problems I've mentioned above, it's served me well for the past half year and if you can deal with the wires, then go for it.

5 out of 5 eggswow

Comments: Wow, this is nice. If your interested in buying it, do so! Wonderful case, sturdy build, high quality, many fans (just how I like it) and definatly worth the $$$. Wee bit heavy though, so don't consider getting it for LANs, maybe get a Full Tower carrying thing off xoxide.
