The Thermaltake V6 BlacX Edition is coated in black from the inside to the outside, lending it stylish looks and a degree of individuality. With the world’s first single bay docking station on the case top, you can conveniently swap 3.5” or 2.5” SATA drives, avoid the hassle of opening case and installing drives. A transparent window on the left side panel allows for a look inside the case. This way the brilliant blue beams of the pre-installed 200mm blue LED top exhaust fan can emanate in a black-bluish array. A 120mm turbo exhaust rear fan also helps ventilate the heat for optimal system cooling.

With dimensions of 462 (H) x 220 (W) x 490 (D) mm the V6 BlacX Edition is a conveniently sized mid-tower that still offers more than enough room for system upgrades and expandability. There are up to eight 5.25” and one 3.5” bays accessible from the front, and further three 3.5” are accessible from the inside. The 2.5" / 3.5" adapter can convert the external 3.5” drive bay into 2.5” bay, allowing you to install an SSD for blazing fast speed. Peripheral connectivity is given through the implementation of two USB 2.0 and HD audio connectors for MIC and speaker at the front panel.

  • newegg Top Docking Station Featuring the world’s first single bay docking station on the top, the Thermaltake V6 BlacX Edition allows easy-swap for 2.5” or 3.5” SATA drives to help on the go data transfer, eliminating the hassle of opening case and installing drives.
  • newegg Stylish Appearance With black-coating from the inside to the outside, the Thermaltake V6 BlacX Edition adds overall quality and neat looks.
  • newegg Efficient Ventilation The Thermaltake V6 BlacX Edition features a mesh front panel to maximize airflow of the inner system. A rear 120mm fan and a 200mm blue LED top fan improve interior airflow for superior system cooling.
  • newegg Transparent Side Window The Thermaltake V6 BlacX Edition comes equipped with a transparent window on the side panel to deliver a direct view of inner system, and the fan with blue LED improves the heat dissipation and looks simply amazing too.
  • newegg Tool-Free Installation The tool-free design ensures quick installation and upgrade for 5.25" and 3.5" devices to save your time.
  • newegg Bottom-Placed PSU The bottom-placed PSU design offers power supply independent and optimized cooling, and an extra dust filter attached to this fan hole in order to keep dust and dirt out of the case and the PSU helps effectively prolong your power supply’s lifetime.

Pros: Beautiful case, works great, plenty of room, but not huge. great for mid to high level rig.

Cons: none so far, i can see this baby working for many a year.

2 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: For reference, I purchased this case elsewhere. The case has a nice overall design, and is put together well. The external hard drive bay is great, I use it all the time.

Cons: I didn't receive a fan in front of my hard drive bays. Both the back fan and top mounted fan died and had to be replaced. The drive bay is just awful for installing HDs and screwing them in. It's also a pain that it doesn't include native SSD support. The metal is also rather cheep and dents easily. I bumped it up against a wall once and then it got a giant dent in the side. I was able to get it out for the most part, but a slight bang shouldn't dent the whole side of the case.

Other Thoughts: I don't like it. I'll be buying a Cooler Master Storm Stryker or Storm Trooper next time.

3 out of 5 eggsMeh. Alright for the price.

Pros: Decent features, SATA dock is kinda nifty, though I haven't had any luck hot-swapping it. Relatively light, and lots of fan attachment points. Good airflow.

Cons: Hard drive cage is not tool-less. You need to screw hard drives into the cage, and the cage will lock into regular 5" bays. They're also oriented lengthwise, i.e. SATA ports facing your motherboard. So by default you lose one bay to a graphics card.

My brother has a cheaper case that's easier to work with.

Front facade isn't flush with the case. It has a slightly annoying pyramidal shape. If you put this near a doorway, people may accidentally kick the front off.

Would not buy again. Would rather go for a better-laid-out case that's geometrically simpler.

Other Thoughts: Power supply cable may not/barely reach CPU power plug on mobo.

4 out of 5 eggsThermaltake V6

Pros: Decent case for the money, has sufficient cooling options for a budget build, SATA dock is a bonus, paint job and fit are above average for this price range and it has nice understated look to it. Runs very quiet with 4 case fans + CPU cooler fan, moves a lot of air.

Cons: Top fan is not 200mm, more like 170mm, and very close to touching the MB, but works fine. Clearance may be an issue with some MBs, but large fan can be swapped for 2 120mm fans if needed. I don't think there's enough headroom for a radiator, though. Also the cable management is nominal (bread-ties included).

Other Thoughts: Asus P8Z68-V LX
i5-2500K
T'take V6 case
Corsair Veangeance 1600MHz 8gb (2x4gb)
OCZ ModXStream Pro 500 watt modular
Seagate Barracuda 500gb 7200rpm SATA2
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
fans - 200(actual size 170) x 1, 120 x 3
stock intel CPU cooler (for now)

4 out of 5 eggsI really like this case!

Pros: This case has a lot of spce, lot's of air entrance and it's beautiful! It has a lot of bays for expansion and plenty of ventilation. The blue fan on the top is silent and I used the hard drive bay on top which works fine. You must only setup on your motherboard the "hot plug in" feature for the SATA connector you're using.

Cons: I gave four starts because of two things: the hard drive bay. It's really hard to install a hard drive. You need to take out ALL the front cover and then use a screwdriver to release the HD cage... Also, there has space for 3HDs only. Another point was the blue fan that on the beginning looks like it was stopping and I had to help with my finger to run. Now I believe it's fixed as the time passed and the bearings got on the position.

Other Thoughts: Despite the 2 issues, I'm really happy with this case.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice features.

Cons: Top bay will only work with a 3.5 drive, no way to fit a CD/DVD drive, as the external drive connectors are in the way. Front USB 2.0? Why not 3.0?

Other Thoughts: Not bad for the price. Definite room for improvement, but not bad.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT CASE!

Pros: Plenty of space
Quiet
REALLY NICE power button
Plenty of room inside

Cons: VERY tight between motherboard and top fan, but it wasn't a problem
Covers on the bays were hard to take off
Not much room for cables in the back, beind panel

Other Thoughts: Nothing was bad enough to take off an egg, but something Thermaltake could rethink on their next design.
