1 out of 5 eggsChaser MK-I

Pros: Great looking, has lots of space on the inside for large components. Wiring was easy with a decent amount of space to hide most of the wiring.

Cons: The bad thing about this case is the Color-shift fans went out in it about 2 weeks after I bought (bought January 14th 2014) it and tried to order a replacement fan since I couldn't wait to send the entire tower back since I am using the computer for work and had major deadlines to meet. I was told that the fan would be back in stock 2- 3 weeks and it has been nearly 3 months and they are telling me 2 more months. The way it looked with the Color-shift fans was a deciding factor why I chose this full size tower over a couple others that were the same size. All I have been told by Thermaltake is buy a different 200mm fan to replace it just don't hook it up to the fan controls and wait to purchase the Color-shift fan when (if) they come back into stock (don't get how they keep building the towers if they are out of the fans) So basically waste cash by buying a new fan to wait for the right fan to come back in which looks like it will be out a total of 6 months if it comes back in.

Other Thoughts: The customer service with Thermaltake has been ridiculous besides the issues I have had with the Color-shift fan I had also bought the Extreme Liquid Cooling unit (so I know it would mount inside my tower correctly and I couldn't get it to work right and trying to get support to so long I had to just send it back for a refund and had to go to the Big Box Electronic Retailer and get a quick replacement one cause Thermaltake said it would be at least a 2 week turn around to get me the replacement one when I had work deadlines to meet.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
The Chaser MK-I is backed by a 3 year warranty and Thermaltake will always replace defective parts. We can do warranty replacements for parts without having to send the entire case back. We also have the option to do an advance service in which we would send you the replacement part ahead of time to avoid long turn around times. We apologize about the negative experience you have had thus far, but Thermaltake always strives to support our customers the best we can. Please contact Customer Service and we will be happy to have these issues resolved.

4 out of 5 eggsfront usb ports

Pros: all in all its a great case for the most of it. love the room inside these cases for builds, makes life so much easier.

Cons: front plastic screen filter clips on side broke 2nd time taking screen out to clean. front usb 2.0 and 3.0 ports cause system crashes and slow running performance, thought all this time since i put this build together that it was my MB but after a long process with tinkering discovered it was the ports/cable that came with the case. will be contacting Thermaltake on this to see if they will go good for it.

Other Thoughts: I gave 4 stars because of screen/front ports, if Thermaltake goes good ill bump to 5, if not well going to drop a couple for service issues

5 out of 5 eggsThermaltake Chaser MK-1

Pros: 1. Nice big case for all your goodies. I have the Noctua NHD14 fans installed and there's still some room to maneuver.
2. Cable management is really good. Has a little bit more room on the side to hold down better.
3. Customizable with different top and front fan combinations, though I'd recommend only using 200mm fans on the top.
4. Airflow is really good. After a month of pretty decent use I popped the doors open and there was much less dust than I expected.
5. Higher leg stands allow for use of a good bottom mounted intake fan. Just know you'll be routing your PSU cables around it.

Many more pros than I can write at the moment. Suffice to say I'm very pleased with this case!!!

Cons: None so far. Read Other thoughts for possible issues I've had but I didn't feel strongly enough to list them as cons.

Other Thoughts: 2 main problems I've had, and these may not be universal:

1. I originally installed 2 120mm Cougar vortex HDB fans on the outside of the front fan mounts. The front bezel closed but it kept popping open with the slightest touch. This also has the disadvantage of not being able to use the front filter. I finally switched them to the inside (a pain using rubber anti-vib mounts) and put the filter in. Front bezel looks like it's a sturdier seal now. So do not install fans on the outside.

2. My front/top I/O panel seems to not work even though it's plugged in. I attempted to use the USB ports and it froze my mouse, which was plugged into the back USB. Had to constantly reset. The back USBs work just fine when everything is plugged into those.

These are more of an inconvenience than anything else. There might be an error on my part which is why they're not cons.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Perfect Case

Pros: -Lots of room so you can expand to your heart's content
-Easy installation of everything
-Decent cable mgmt
-Great airflow (the colored fans that people like are cool but they are really hard to come by)
-Stock fans are very quiet

Cons: -Panels on case almost too easily come off so you got to be careful if/when you move the case
-The power button light for me was DOA, but I didn't buy this case for the pretty lights

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent case

Pros: My back up pc has this case as well as my new build. Plenty of room to work inside and airflow is great. Love the removable drive bays. This is a must have for any build.

Cons: Just wished it came with a side fan, but other than that, no cons.

Other Thoughts: Having a case like this is a necessity due to having a enough room to work inside and having plenty of air flow. Your components inside would very much appreciate having plenty of room and air flow.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome case, minor design nit-picks

Pros: -Plenty of space, especially for cable management.
-Love the Black w/ blue accent (inside and out!).
-Handles even the largest of GPUs and CPU coolers.
-Custom fans are cool (figuratively and literally speaking), but hard to come by.
-Easy to service.
-Built-in filtration.
-SATA3 dock on top!
-USB3 ports on top!

Cons: -WAY too easy to accidentally remove a panel.
-Filters seem to fray too easy and they don't exactly keep all the dust out.
-Tricky wiring for the top panel.

Other Thoughts: I had to learn how to hold the case when accessing/moving it because it was Way too easy to accidentally grab a panel for support only to have it break away and leave me scrambling to keep it from dropping.

This almost needs more/larger filters because there are plenty of spots where the vents are simply open-air. The filters themselves aren't exactly built for repeated (Read: More than annual Maintenance) insertion. I'm already having most of them fray at the points where they contact the trays.

The top panel was rather tricky to handle as you have to hold it in just a certain way when adding a fan to the header. Since I maxed out the fans in this, I wanted it to control all four fans for both speed and lighting. This lead to some Very tricky caballing, a couple splitters and not being able to simply remove (and set aside) the side panel (one with the window) because of the limited length of the fan wires.

The one draw that this case may have to people is the neat multi-color (with options) fan configuration. It was more of a novelty to me, but a chore to acquire more fans when I decided to max out the cooling as only the custom fans would work with the controller (couldn't mix & match while keeping the colors).

Overall it's Really whisper quiet when not under stress and fans on low. When on high, the fans are still quite quiet, but you know they're on (yet not distracting). The lights can be turned totally off if you're not into that.

Note: Make Sure you've got the top panel SATA doc connected to a hot-swappable header!

5 out of 5 eggsawesome

Pros: lots of room
easy 5.25 bay swapping
easy hard drive swapping
lots of fans
great air flow

Cons: would use more 5.25 bays just because I ran out and had to sacrifice swthing but you probably won't have this problem. other wise none

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: I love this case, plenty of room and holes for cable management, great air flow with room for a few more fans, the external hard drive slot is a nice feature, the removable fan filters are great they collect the dust before it can get in and there easy to remove and clean, and it looks cool too.

Cons: It can be kinda tricky to pick it up because the top and front pop off with very little force. The expansion bay removable covers look cool and are easy to pop off but may bee to easy because they seem to pop off every time I pick up the case, but that's not very often so no big deal.

Other Thoughts: A picked it up for $110 with $20 rebate, $160 is a bit much

5 out of 5 eggsThermaltake Chaser Series Chaser MK-I (VN300M1W2N) Black SECC ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: This case is large! I will note the top things about it that impress me:

Ventilation on top for a triple radiator.
Large included cooling fans with the option built in to turn off the LED's if desired.
Adjustable fan speed controller built into the case.
2 - USB 3.0 2 - USB 2.0, eSata, and a hot swap dock built into the top of the case.
Internally:
Sleek black finish, which is very rugged.
Plenty of storage options.
Plenty of space for large GPU's.
Great cable management capability behind the motherboard tray. (I hid cables from a Thermaltake toughpower 1200w NON-modular version!

Overall an excellent case. I have built a few systems inside this case, and it always goes very smooth because there is plenty of room to move around inside even after your hardware is installed.

Sleek, rugged design, very nice color scheme, sturdy swivel out feet at the bottom which not only give the case more stability, but also allow added ventilation for the lower section of the case. Nice dust filters to keep the dust level inside the case to a minimum.

Cons: I have had my systems built in this case, air cooled, or using a Thermaltake Water 2.0 AIO water cooling unit. This has sufficed because the case has plenty of ventilation for any cooling solution you may choose. Why is this a con?

I am currently working on a custom water loop, I have a water pump with a tube reservoir mounted on top of my pump. I wanted to use a larger tube (200MM tall version) instead of the 120MM tall version. There is not enough space between the graphics card, (Asus GTX780) and hard drive cage for my reservoir to fit. This is not necessarily a con, because I could have used a bay reservoir, but I just thought I would mention that for anyone looking to water cool and use a tube reservoir. There is possibly space to mount it in front of my graphics card, but I am using PrimoChill rigid tubing, and do not want to lock my hardware in place should I decide to swap my graphics cards which will stay air cooled at this moment.

Other Thoughts: I have used thermaltake cases for some time now, and everyone I have used has impressed me, build quality, structural integrity, and usability. Thermaltake FTW in my book!

5 out of 5 eggsGaudy? Yeah. Quality? Oh Yes.

Pros: Hey I get that not all of us are gamers looking for flashing lights and that stuff, but this case is probably the best I have ever built a PC on in 25+ years of IT.

* Large, but not massive.
* Quality design. Cable management etc is nice.
* Fans. Eh. Had a problem with one. Fixed it. Wanted to buy two more to complete the case but they are sold out even at Thermaltake.
* I *LOVE* the external SATA connector for SSD drives. You can also use full size HDD but I haven't tried it yet.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Okay so it's a bit gaudy, but it's good quality at a decent price. If you don't like the flashy lights you can switch them off. I have already bought a second.
