1 out of 5 eggsGood Case

This review is from: Thermaltake Commander MS-I Epic Edition Black / Red SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: I installed everything and i looked at the fan with "Blue LEDS" and mine has none it had the spots for leds but there are non 1/5

Cons: The Blue LED fan yeah mine has none

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
This chassis come with one 120mm rear exhaust fan. It's been stated on specifications page. We did not say that is "Blue LED" fan.

1 out of 5 eggsLooks great but...

This review is from: Thermaltake Commander MS-I Epic Edition Black / Red SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: love the looks and the side panel window

Cons: the power button on the front of the case is super flimsy
there was no header for my usb 2.0...
and the usb 3 is just a plug not a header, why they did this I have no clue. It's not false advertisement but it's pretty close because most people are going to think it's a header. that's actually why I bought this when browsing part picker for a case.
Also because of that you have to buy an adapter for the usb 3 to work inside the case.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this at all, I now have a 55$ paper weight sitting around and I have to browse for a good case instead of this one.
Next time Thermaltake put actual headers on the usb. and if they were going to do it the way they did it should have been advertised as such

4 out of 5 eggsOverall solid, but misleading overview

This review is from: Thermaltake Commander MS-I Epic Edition Black / Red SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: It's solid and sturdy enough for me.
This case looks awesome with the black and red color scheme!
Big enough to hold my Theramaltake Nic C4.

Cons: Okay, When I got it I was a bit frustrated to find that the front USB connector was a USB Plug, not a motherboard USB 3.0 header. The overview shows a picture of a USB Header in the motherboard but that's not the case! I guess now I have to buy an adapter...
Also, the top fan spots are irrelevant as the CPU cooler blocks them. off.

4 out of 5 eggsconfusing

This review is from: Thermaltake Commander MS-I Epic Edition Black / Red SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: looks pretty cool.
supports many fans
very easy to set up

Cons: the specification are misleading. it says that it includes a 120 mm blue led fan, well it does not. the fan included is a turbo fan.

Other Thoughts: good case overall, quite easy to work with, especially for the price. however thermaltake should definitely take a look at the specifications for this case, and correct the incorrect information.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We at Thermaltake would like to apologize for the misinformation regarding the rear fan.
We are working to correct the information to avoid further confusion, as the Blue LED fan is supplied with the original Commander MS-I.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the case, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Support team.

2 out of 5 eggsNice Look..Missing some things

This review is from: Thermaltake Commander MS-I Epic Edition Black / Red SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Nice looks! Purchased for an AMD build and the red and black combo looks great with my scheme. It has nice features for this price. Nice for a first time build on a budget.

Cons: User manual is very vague and not the most helpful. Back panel could have just a bit more depth for cable management. USB 3.0 must be plugged in outside the case, I purchased a MB adapter to avoid this. The front USB 2.0 does not work at all as it was missing a connector to the mother board which I figured out when my build was nearly complete. Wasn't going to turn back at that point. This is a common issue come to find out when researching online after. The case did not come with the lower PSU filter as it was supposed to. Looked into RMA on Thermaltake website to get the part but after filling the info out the form it wouldn't send. I guess I can live without it. Just disappointing about the case missing those items and function of the 2.0 USB port. Im not going to take it all apart after hours of work to get a new case. Just be aware that these issues could happen to you if you purchase. Look it over really good to make sure everything is intact. A lesson I have learned. This is a nice case especially if it is complete. Wish I had one to begin with.

Other Thoughts: All in all my build is up and running and I like the look of the case. I have over come the missing usb 2.0 with a media card reader with one build into it. Currently a sticker covers the non functioning one. USB 3.0 works fine. The air filter thing isn't the end of the world just wish I had it and it was an easier process with Thermaltake to get it sent to me. Looks like I will have to go without it.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We at Thermaltake would like to apoligize for the inconvenience this has caused.
Please give customer support a call at your earliest convenience as we will be more than happy to walk you through the RMA form,
and help get your components replaced.

2 out of 5 eggsPretty Meh

This review is from: Thermaltake Commander MS-I Epic Edition Black / Red SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Looks nice
Decent Air Flow
Fair cable management(but the back panel makes it annoying)

Cons: This case is pretty cramped. Using an ATX board and there's no way I can mount a 120mm fan on either spot on top(hits ram and cpu cooler). Forced to use small fans, which I just ordered. Also the front mount fan spot has to be drilled to actually accept a fan, which was also annoying to install because the frame is in the way of the guides.

A huge negative is the lack of a usb 3.0 header up front, its just a USB extender that they actually suggest going through the middle and out the back(really dumb seeing that there's a window)

Pretty flimsy, my case was warped and I had to do some bending to get it right, rear panel sucks for cable management.

Other Thoughts: If I got to do it over I would choose another case. The cool looks of this case don't really make up for it's faults. And don't even think of watercooling if thats something you want, this case is super cramped as it is.

2 out of 5 eggsCheaply made

This review is from: Thermaltake Commander MS-I Epic Edition Black / Red SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Looks nice on the website.

Cons: Cheaply made product. The case is so thin and flimsy I thought it was a $19.99 China special. The front USB ports are so flimsy I am afraid they are going to break off when inserting a usb device. As noted by others the front USB 3.0 cable has to be routed out the back and plugged into the rear USB 3.0 port or you can do like I did and buy an adapter. The front cover looks cheap and does not match up flush with the case. They only provide one plastic stand-off for the motherboard and no nut for the center stud.

Other Thoughts: Over all the case is cheap and should not cost more than $19.99 or $9.99 on sale. I have used cheap $19.99 cases before that were built better than this one. I have used ThermalTake cases in previous builds and I am totally shocked by the poor quality of this one for the price.
