5 out of 5 eggsthermaltake red black amd case

Pros: if your an AMD fanboy, this is it! just the looks make up for minor inconviences. red and black color.

Cons: no cable management but with a modular power supply..no big deal

Other Thoughts: Buy it.

3 out of 5 eggsCable Disaster

Pros: Looks great, price is good. Perfect for AMD fanboys. Bottom mounted PSU is easy to slide in. Plastic drive holders are great, wish it came with more.

Cons: Well for starters, there isn't ANY cable management, you have to use the drive cages. I ended up getting a cable stuck in between my front fan and drive cage and I went absolutely Frazer McLaren and ended up hurting my thumb pretty badly. Anyways, the HDMI slot on the graphics card is right at the top of the expansion slot, hopefully I'll be able to actually plug it in. They could have used 2 USB 3.0 slots instead of one and a 2.0 slot.

Other Thoughts: This is a good case if you're on an extreme budget, but there are much better cases you can get out there for the same price, if not, lower. (Cougar Spike or Phanteks Ethoo Pro) There is absolutely no cable management, and it will bring you a TON of frustration.

1 out of 5 eggsDecent case, poor service from Thermaltake

Pros: Looks great, inexpensive, functional

Cons: Difficult cable management, cheap plastic.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this case about a year ago and the plastic clips that hold the front panel of the case on have since broke. I've emailed Thermaltake at least 4 times regarding this matter over the last 5 months. They stated they would replace the clips, but never sent them. On two occasions now, they didn't even reply to my emails. Twice they've promised to send new clips, but they never do. I even submitted an RMA as instructed but with no avail. I'll be avoiding Thermaltake products from this point on.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We apologize that you have not yet received the clips. Thermaltake is always happy to replace parts that have broken under warranty. Please try contacting Customer Service again and make sure to grab an RMA ticket number. You can use the RMA number as reference if the replacement clips are not received.

3 out of 5 eggsCable Management Nightmare!

Pros: Looks, Exhaust Red LED, AMD case for those fan-boys, side optional fan and big cooler support. As long as it works it doesn't bring a big issue.

Cons: No cable management anywhere, all my PSU extra cables have to be zip-tied up in a big bunch at the bottom of my case.
Also, it needs an includes front fan, seem reasonable since I'm doing a $700 build in this and it looks really ugly with cables zip-tied as much as possible but everywhere.

Other Thoughts: I don't know if its the power switch header, motherboard, power-supply, or something else but I can't turn on the system. Everything is fine, plugged in, power supply is on and plugged into the wall. Going to my local computer help and repair store to do a free diagnostics for any help tomorrow.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case

Pros: Great case, nice design and good quality for price.

Cons: well not many things bad i can say about this case just a few things i would like to see in future cases from Thermaltake. first would be just make both front usb port usb3, second maybe offer some water cooling support? Third and a sure must, cable management slots honestly that would be a big help. last thing is actually really im important, the top two from bezel locks are plastic which sucks! I pull the from bezel off (lightly) and the top left one broke! I went Mahavir on the case and used a silicon strip a washer and a longer screw to hold the left side of the bezel. its a pain to remove and put back if i want to replace the dvd drive or add one.

4 out of 5 eggsIrony FTW

Pros: Its a nice looking case with decent build quality. I really enjoy the amd logo and scorpion.

Cons: Nothing much as long as you realize that this case is made mostly for looks not cooling (but it does an ok job at it).

Other Thoughts: I love using these cases when I do intel and nvidia builds, the irony brings a smile to my face.

5 out of 5 eggsJoy to build in!

Pros: This case was a joy to build in. I am an AMD fanboy so this was the perfect choice. For fifty dollars it does not get much better.

Cons: It came with something that allowed you to attach things to the drive bay without a screw. Unfortunately they break really easily. But it isn't really a con because I never really planned on using them. Nice that they included them though.

Other Thoughts: Best case for fifty bucks!

4 out of 5 eggsgreat case for the price!

Pros: case looks great. mant fan attachments. cheap! mostly metal. filter for powersupply fan

Cons: expansion slot covers are cheap and a hassle. not enough mobo lifters.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
The V3 AMD Edition has built in standoffs. The two included standoffs are only required if you are using a Micro ATX motherboard. If you require additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact Thermaltake Customer Service.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat V3 AMD Edition Case

Pros: Roomy, looks awesome, great case for the price. Thermaltake makes nice stuff. I would buy again. Perfect feeling switch and reset button.

Cons: No fan included to cool hard drives, so I moved the rear 120mm to the front to allow the hard drive to be cooled by forced air.

Other Thoughts: 1. Some modern cases do not require stand-offs for motherboard mounting..there are raise spots on the motherboard back plate for mounting.
2. To get the optical drive covers out of the front of this case you must remove the whole front panel...Gently pull from the bottom end outward on the front panel...you have 2 metal friction? clamps at the bottom and middle. The top of the front panel has plastic friction studs/clamps, so I used a butter knife to help separate the top so I would not break off the plastic studs/clamp thingys. You now have access to remove the optical drive covers and add a 120mm fan to cool hard drive if you like. I had to research how to remove the optical drive covers as i didn't want to hurt myself or the case trying to force them out.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case for the price

Pros: Lots of space inside, aesthetically pleasing on the outside. Lots of options for fan placement and provided features I didn't see with other cases in the price range.

Cons: The front panel is a pain to take off. Has to be handled with a delicate hand. The tabs at the top are very easy to break off. Be picky on what fans you choose for this case. There are many options for your chosen fan placement in the case but if other components such as your cpu and ram and your PSU may prevent you from using thicker fans. The 2.5" HD bay is a joke, I ended up having to celcrow my SSD in a spot where the cables would actually properly reach the drive without creating a havoc of wires in front of my intake fan.

Other Thoughts: The pros outweigh the cons here. I have lots of room to whatever I wish to do with this case. Cable management is tricky but overall I love this case and I'm thinking about getting the non AMD version of it for my next build. PCI slot grills and a 2.5" drive bay bracket are things I recommend to get with this case.
