1 out of 5 eggsThermaltake Chaser A71 VP400M1W2N Black SECC ATX Full Tower Case

Pros: Lots of room / good cooling

Cons: bad power button and rebate

Other Thoughts: Power button bad computer shuts down and restarts all on it.s own. I read about this problem but I though it was 1 in 1000 chance of having this problem. Also if you have a rebate coming like I did good luck getting it. I sent in everything an got a email telling it was declined because I didn't sent in the invoice. I made a 2nd copy sent it in still on rebate. I also had two other items on this order with rebates I have received 1 the other is in the mail. As for the power switch I'll have to fix it on my own I'm not paying to ship case to Thermaltake to get it fixed. I won't be buying Thermaltake cases any more because of rebate and power button this was case #5 they lost me forever

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
If there are any issues with the rebate, please contact Customer Service. We will look into the matter and assist you with any issues you may be experiencing with the Rebate Center. Customer Service can also help determine the cause of the power button issue and replace any parts if necessary.

5 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: Good case. Nothing wrong with it so far.

Cons: The only thing that bothers me is that the docking station does not work - nor the 2 3.0 USB ports in the front, but I think it's more of a mobo issue.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Design, Questionable Construction

Pros: Quite a few up sides to the case
1. Awesome cable management
2. Plenty of space for standard builds, longer video cards and lots of hard drives. I don't like building computers in smaller cases as it can be a pain, this is not a problem here.
3. Nice front usb connectors
4. Convenient hdd docking for quick file transfer
5. Plenty of fans

Cons: Unfortunately, a decent caveat for this case is that despite the wonderful overall functionality and general design, the construction and quality is shaky.
1. Plastic piece on front rattles from from fan operation.
2. Plastic piece will depress reset switch by itself if you move the case around, so your comput may restart if you touch it
3. Fans noise is ok, although not super silent
4. A few minor pieces that i didn't mind much are that the power button led is too bright (can put sticker over it) and side panels are pretty difficult to close, and are easy to close improperly. Both are manageable, although panels are annoying.

Other Thoughts: Would be amazing case if quality of construction was better. I may have defective plastic front panel or poor fans that create too much vibration.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
The front fan for the Chaser A71 should product around 13dBA of noise. The front panel, however, should not be rattling and your system should not be reseting from minor touches. You may indeed have a defective front panel. Please contact Customer Service who can help determine the issue and provide RMA instructions if necessary.

5 out of 5 eggsWow Expected Less

Pros: Huge , put my GTX760sc and had 3 inches of room. Can't see any draw backs. Tons of space to run cables behind backplate.

Cons: $140.00 case and built like it. Not a $600.00 case. It's worth every penny.

Other Thoughts: Can't beat it for the price. It's my new Tech Machine with (2) 2.5" and (2) 3.5 "hot swap bays I installed 3 of them.

4 out of 5 eggsNice case.

Pros: Big case, lots of room for cable management and it fit my h100i water cooler without an issue in the top of case. you have to remove the top fan that comes with the case in order to install the radiator.

Cons: the specs state that there are 3 led fans, top, side and front. Front: 200 x 200 x 30 mm Blue LED fan (600rpm, 13dBA), Top:200 x 200 x 20 mm Blue LED fan (600rpm, 13dBA), Side:200 x 200 x 20 mm Blue LED fan (600rpm, 13dBA). Mine only came with a side and top blue led fan. I took one of the 120mm blue led fans from my blackhawk gaming mid tower and installed it in the bottom of case and the water pump led is set to blue so the whole inside of case is blue and black.
To take off the right side of case for cable management I just about had to use a pry bar to get it off. after installing everything and putting the side back on i needed to get back into it and it was even harder to pull the side off the case. I had to literally give it everything i had to get it backoff like it was concreted into place.
The other issue i had is the side fan sounds like its rubbing something very lightly, I check the fan and such and couldnt see anything. the top fan wobbles and both those fans look and feel cheaply made. The front fan is the only one that look and felt like it was of good quality but didn't have the blue led as stated in the discription however it did have the ports along the side of it for leds. The fan itself is black. I do like that all 3 fans are really large and push alot of air through the case. And don't let me forget about the rear fan, it works really well however it looks like the cheapest fan you can have in a case and which I don't mind cause it works and helps keep the case cooler. Other then these many problems, everything I installed in it went in with no effort at all except almost having to pry the 1 side off to open it so i could hide all my cables behind it. I can't think of anything else I found as a con.

Other Thoughts: With all the issues now that I have everything installed in the case, it does look really nice. Not as nice as the original case I wanted to order ( Rosewill BLACKHAWK Gaming ATX Mid Towers big brother) the Rosewill THOR V2 Gaming ATX Full Tower. 2 reasons i didn't buy the thor v2 is 1) I wanted a side window, and 2) I wasn't sure if i could fit my h100i radiator in it without having to modify the case. I have the blackhawk gaming mid tower and love the case alot but in order to put the radiator and fans in it I would have had to cut the top of the case and I wasn't going to do that. All and all, this case once everything was installed and running and my blackhawk 120mm blue led fan installed in the bottom of it does look really nice.

5 out of 5 eggsA Pretty good case!

Pros: Roomy! of course that is to be expected with a full tower.

the provision for liquid cooling is excellent for me,I had no problems installing a Antec Kuhler H20 1250 cooler.seemed like they were made for each other.has excellent air flow through the case.

Cons: none really!

Other Thoughts: My build.
AMD 8350 CPU.
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Case, Even Better Service

Pros: -Cable management
-Its deep/long, it can accomodate the longest of graphics cards
-Face and Top can be removed without opening the case to access the fans or foam screens for cleaning
-Can accomodate a radiator and fan setup without being visible/ruining the aesthetic of the case
-Removable bottom screen for cleaning the PSU intake
-4 removable front facing 5.25 bays
-Cubby/tray on top to hold usb flash drives and other knicknacks
-Weight, its very light and fully loaded with all my parts still weighed less than my gutted previous computer that was missing half its parts.

Cons: Functionally, none that I've seen so far. My window-less door came with a slightly bent bracket but it took 5 seconds with needle nose pliers to bend back.

Aesthetically, my only complaint is the front blue bezels arent actually low power futuristic LEDs, theyre just blue plastic. Similarily the front fan does not have any LEDs either, though this isnt much concern as most of the light would be blocked by the foam and front face.

Other Thoughts: About 2 weeks after buying the case the front fan started grinding and making noise as if the bearing was wearing out. Flexing the front of the case would change how the fan sounded. I contacted thermaltake and received a response after getting through the automated system about 9 hours later the next day. From there the email support was extremely fast and quick to respond. I told them of my problem and they instantly believed me with no hassle or overly complicated process for proof of purchase. I applied for an advance RMA and was greeted with the nice surprise that the fan will be free, and they won't need to get the old one back either. From the time I sent my RMA details, to my fan being in a box and shipped by UPS, the total time was about 2 hours. Now THAT is service. They are based in southern california, and the customer service rep was extremely helpful and articulate.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Plenty of Room
Looks Nice
Easy Setup
Moves Air nicely

Cons: Side door slides in a bit wonky so you can really tell if it's sliding in correctly.

Other Thoughts: Upgraded from a Thermaltake Armor+ that I got back in 2008.

The A71 has a lot more plastic bits but is a lot lighter weight.

The A71 also is slightly smaller but still has plenty of room.

Hope it last as long as the Armor + did.

5 out of 5 eggsLots of room and many bells and whistles

Pros: This a full size tower with many features that make this case a dream. I like the LED lighting as it looks cool. Tool free drive bays are fantastic. Cable routing makes for great air flow and a cool system that makes for an efficient and trouble free operation.

Has plenty of room for expansion and an extended video card so no worries for high end builders.

Cons: While a nice system tower, it is a bit pricey. But, you get what you pay for.

3 out of 5 eggsChaser A71 case

Pros: Nice size, great cable management, good airflow, easy access front ports.

Cons: Front fan was DOA. It also came with the wrong model. The specs said it was supposed to be a blue LED fan, it came with one without the LEDs. I got in touch with Newegg customer service - I just wanted to exchange the DOA fan for the correct model. They wanted me to exchange the whole case.

Considering that I had just finished putting the computer together, and that I had spend close to 2 hours dealing with them through the chat service (and that two of the reps just up and left my session without a word before finally saying something), I was not happy with that solution.

So rather than need to take apart the computer, then ship the case to Newegg, then wait to get the new case, then rebuild the computer, I just decided to blow another 20 bucks on the fan I should have gotten in the first place.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
Please contact Thermaltake Customer Service. We can have just the incorrect fan replaced through warranty service.
