1 out of 5 eggsCould be a great case?

Pros: Big enough, black, well meaning

Cons: Where do I start. The mounting holes for motherboard were stripped. The plastic cover for the for the card mounting broke in my fingers while removing. Now the cover will not stay on. The plastic mounts for the drives, while they do work, not too effective in keeping the drives in the slot. The mount for fans or radiator behind the front cover could have been better, hard to mount fans and hold in place. Not making the case taller in order to mount fans in the top of case. The board is too close to grill and no holes for fans if they would mount. A little more caring in the mfg, the case could be a good case. I have used Thermaltake cases and power supplies many times, but someone sure didn't think this one out.

4 out of 5 eggsperfect for custom builds!

Pros: Ample space for 3 (maybe 4, tightly fit) HDD, 3 SSD.
motherboard went in easy.
optical drives were super easy to install with the "no screws needed clips".
GPU I purchased (R9 390 8GB, so yeah large) fits snugly, but fits.
front panel has dust catcher and TWO 120mm or so fan slots which was a nice surprise.
clear window on the side is the best part, you get to see your build without the case being open and all.

Cons: Front panel was tough to remove to get to the fan slots, pliers needed.
also took me a while to figure out that the dust catcher in the front panel has clips for the fans, there are not screw holes so i didnt ecaxtly like just having a floating fan, until i discovered the fans clip into the front panel dust catcher.

Other Thoughts: Great tower all around, glad to have it for my first build, love the window in the side!

4 out of 5 eggsIf you can get it cheaply, it's a no-brainer

Pros: -Got this for a steal, plus a mail-in rebate. Let's just say it ended up cheaper than couple of music albums.
-It's fairly light and still felt pretty solid
-The smaller drive bays for SSDs were very convenient and a good feature
-Front-facing USB3 at this price point is great
-Lots of space behind the motherboard for routing PSU cables, there is a large track for routing the main ATX 24-pin connector. Makes cable tucking pretty easy. Contrary to other reviews I DID receive 3 zip ties with the included fasteners. These can be used on the main track I just mentioned by using pre-drilled holes.
-Filter on the bottom to keep the PSU clean
-Looks pretty cool. It's a little aggressive without being too over the top.
-Provisions for external radiators and coolant tubing. Didn't use it but it's nice for this price.

Cons: -Don't like the expansion slots being stamped/welded in place. Take one out and it's gone forever. (With the exception of the top slot for single-slot GPUs, that one can be replaced)
-I didn't like that the "extra" motherboard stand offs use a different screw thread pitch than the built-in case stand offs. All the included screws look pretty similar and it makes it easier to make a mistake.
-The apparatus for mounting front fans arrived loose and rattling around in the case. I wasn't really comfortable ripping the front face off of the tower to re-seat that mount. I didn't have to take it all the way off and managed to get it back into place without breaking anything though.
-The 5.25" bay covers were a little tricky for me to get off and didn't really have good instructions for removal. I managed to pull them through the inside of the case after about 5 minutes of struggling with it.
-Like others have mentioned, I found the top vent design strange. I don't think you can mount top fans there without drilling holes or getting really creative with fasteners or zip ties. This was not an issue for me, but I can see it being an issue for others.
-No side fan may be a deal breaker for some people, but there is plenty of opportunity for good airflow by mounting the right kinds of fans in the front and back.

Other Thoughts: This is an excellent case if you are aware of its minor shortcomings before you purchase. It's not exactly a builder's dream but it was almost as nice to build as some other more premium cases I have purchased. I wanted to give a 5 egg review just because it's great value for the money I paid but couldn't bring myself to do it with some of the confusion I encountered while building, especially due to having to use 2 different types of screws for particular motherboard standoffs. But if you spot this case around the same price or cheaper than similar alternatives, definitely pick it up.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Roomy Case

Pros: This case is well ventilated and roomy, letting all the hot air easily rise out the top.

Cons: Wish there were a couple of more usb ports up front.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Mid Tower ATX Case for the Price

Pros: - Very Nice Looking Case
- Very Good Air Flow inside the case
- Has Built in Standoffs for the Motherboard (the raised bumps are the stand offs) However the manual does not tell you that for some reason?
- A very sturdy and durable case that is worth the price.

Cons: - Cable Management is pretty good except theres no top hole to route the CPU Power Plug though from the back so the cpu power plug will be visible inside you case.
- The GPU Screw in Slots are not removable in the tradional way (usually slides out once you unscrew them) they are attached the shell of the case and you have to break then out of their slots for some odd reason.
- The Manual is very poorly made, the diagrams are very bad for follwing since you can barely tell that they are showing you. Only useful thing about the manual was showing you what screws were for what.

Other Thoughts: - The Case comes with 3 extra stand offs if you need them but for the most part they were unused.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: bottom mounted PSU. pre-installed fan. lots of HDD and SDD space. all drive mounts are tool free. raised quite high from the ground for good psu airflow. psu airfilter. front airfilter. *#NB#* you mount the intake fans DIRECTLY ONTO THE AIRFILTER!!! for air coolers it is great! not so great for liquid cooling

Cons: top vent does not support any fan, it is only an exhuast vent. the rear 120mm fan mount is too small for my radiator, i was only able to get 1 screw in (it's an enermax liqtech 120x). not enough room on the side for cable management. expansion slots are a pain to remove and cannot be replaced. no top airfilter. plastic feet. Misleading top vent.

3 out of 5 eggsIt was good for a first build on a small budget

Pros: I liked the black design and the dust filters in the front and bottom (for psu). Nice design and the tool free drive bays were nice. Separated power and reset switches are a cool feature. The side panels were incredibly easy to get off but a pain to get back on.

Cons: Giant grate in top with no dust filter, I left for a day and came back to find an unbelievable amount of dust on all my components,I've since had to cover this with a t-shirt until i can get a dust filter for it. Side window scratches easily. The right panel behind the motherboard had no room for wiring. I had finished the computer then cleaned up the wires and barely got the panel back on with two people. later the power cable for the gpu fell out because of the tight wiring and i had to re install the drivers and then rewire the whole thing to make sure it didn't happen again. so not much room for wires. pci-e slot covers are not re-installable, once you take them off they are done for. my motherboard didnt fit perfectly in here and the included screws that came with the case did not fit in the standoffs. side panels are also a bit flimsy.

Other Thoughts: The included fan pushed little to no air at all, but That was not a problem because i got a couple other fans. The front had really nice tool free fan installation. the case didn't have rubber pads on the legs of the case but still sits fine on the floor without sliding.
I used this case on my first build and it works pretty good so far. It had its cons but hey for the price you wont find something too much better.

4 out of 5 eggsI love it

Pros: The case is a very light material, fully black and comes with the included fan which i loved. the selling point for me was that there can be up to 6 hard drives in it. it is also very pleasing to the eye.

Cons: cheap materials, they should have made the plastic inside where the drives sit sturdier. Also for me there was dust in my case when i revived it which bothered me. i know you can do better new egg.

1 out of 5 eggsRMA'd

Pros: Lighter and smaller than most cases so it didn't cost too much to ship it back to Newegg.

Cons: From the moment I received this case and saw that there was no front-mounted fan nor any provision for installing a front-mounted fan, I knew this purchase was a major mistake. As incredible as it seems, this case comes without any front-mounted fan and there is no way to mount your own front fan because it has no mounts or screw holes for installing ANY kind of fan in the front portion of the case. Bad design, pure and simple. Purchasing this case was the worst mistake I've ever made in my 15+ years of DIY PC building. I actually breathed a sigh of relief when I RMA'd it and bought a Corsair Carbide Series 400R which BTW is the best darn case I've ever owned. Do yourself a favor and avoid this piece of junk at all costs. Thermaltake used to be a company I could depend on for quality hardware, but I've had to update this opinion as a result of the awful experience that I had with this ill-conceived and poorly designed product.

Other Thoughts: Avoid at all costs no matter how cheap it goes unless you enjoy shipping defective computer products around the country. If I could have given it zero stars I would have.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
The Versa H21 does not come with front fans, but you have the option of installing two 120 x 120 x 25 mm fans. The fans mount directly onto the dust filter. For more details, please visit the Thermaltake website. If you have any additional questions, please contact Customer Service. We are always happy to help in any way that we can.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice

Pros: Nicely designed tooless case. Looks great, nice build quality .A little larger than a lot of mid sized cases. It was a pleasure to build with this case, no frustrations. I liked the rubber grommets around holes in the case for your external water cooler/radiator. Included fan is quiet and works well.

Cons: None. I don't know of any cases this good for the money.

Other Thoughts: No, there are no fan mounts in the top of the case, the motherboard sits there so there wouldn't be room for fans anyhow. And yes there are two slots for fans in the front panel behind the air filter for more airflow if you desire.
