5 out of 5 eggsTT Commander G42

Pros: Build Quality
Aesthetics
Modular Drive Cage
Server Style "Drive Blade" Bays
Cooling Options
Tool-less Drive Bays

Cons: No Rubber Grommets on Wire Solution Holes and external liquid cooling tube ports are not punched.

Window marks with even the slightest bump

Other Thoughts: I really can't stress the quality of the build quality of the case itself enough. It is a very good case.

The holes for the liquid cooling do not come punched however, so if youre planning on using an external pump for your cooling solution be aware of that. It does have plenty of room for sealed unit cooling inside, however. The wire conduit holes do not have rubber grommets, but are rolled, and not sharp. I would just like to see rubber around any metal parts wires might come into contact with.

The window material is also quite soft. I leaned it against a glass vase, then bumped it and it slid down the vase under its own weight... marking it the whole way down. I then marked it with my fingernail for some reason while I was in shock still just to see if my eyes deceived me. They did not. Another thing to be aware of.

That being said, the modular drive cage and server style drawer drive bays and tool-less installation are all amazing features that add value to this case. The near limitless cooling solutions that are available are also a much needed asset for high end gaming systems.

With some customization, this case has the potential to be phenomenal. Grab some U-Channel Trim from an electronics store and rim off the wiring solution. Possible window mod with some Lucite sheeting instead of the cheap clear plastic window and you have yourself a real quality case!

5 out of 5 eggsThermaltake Commander G42

Pros: Just received my case in the mail today and I must say the shipping was way faster than expected, regular ground shipping made it here in 2 days. WOW. This case is much bigger than expected as well, but not so big that it looks clumsy it actually looks exactly as pictured on newegg.com Im very happy with the amount of room this case has, plenty of room behind motherboard for wires, plenty of room for that bigger gaming graphics card, dual or triple fan. Also love the hard drive bays and the 5.25 reducer to 3.5 " converted from one of the 5.25 bays in which there is 3 on this particular model. Also comes with 2 fans for those of you who are wondering there is one in the front and one in the back and YES they do light up blue, lol. All in all a great case for someone who is wanting to do there own build, first time build or professional build, you cant go wrong with this one guys and girls. =p

Cons: NONE so far, will update my review if I find any cons but so far so good!!!

Other Thoughts: like many others have already said, when installing the hard drive make sure the female end of the drive where the wires connect to the drive are toward the back" side opposite of the window" before installing drive otherwise wires will be splinched and could get tore and cause MAJOR problems.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case for the price

Pros: Just got this case in this morning and i'm quite impressed with it! It has nice airflow and more room than i could ask for on the inside as well as a gracious amount of space behind the mobo and back panel for cable management. Not to mention this is a rather simple case which is a +1 for me.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Although it has nice airflow i would've preferred having two 120mm fan slots on the front rather than one but for the price i can't complain. Oh and make sure to put the end of the hard drive that the cable plugin to in the back of the trey, otherwise the case cover won't fit.

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost perfect except...

Pros: Easy to work with, great airflow, larger size tower. Had originally planned my build with a smaller case, but that case limited everything on my build, so I went with this one. Was a great choice. So easy to install spare hard drives and extra accessories, also great locations for the usb 3.0; works like a charm.

Cons: Only issue I have, and sadly it will cost an egg because of the potential problem it can cause:
The fan cable for the front fan is too short to reach the motherboard. Not sure if that's a problem with my ASUS board, or the case's cable. This is a problem because, if you are doing enough, the hard drive COULD overheat. I have a great cooling system though so I'm not TOO worried, but this should be looked into.

Other Thoughts: Great for a budget gaming computer. A little larger than I expected, and a little heavy, but it's so easy to work with, and the side window is also pretty epic, as I love to game in the dark! Really glad I went with this case, and cannot wait to see what I can add to my already pretty awesome build!

4 out of 5 eggsBlack on Black

Pros: Excellent case with ease in installation of components. Has two 120mm fans - one in front and on in the rear. I installed two more XIGMATEK FCB (Fluid Circulative Bearing) CLF-F1255 120mm Purple LED fans in the top. This made the unit really a looker and not overly bright.
The case is sturdy and has excellent cable routing with many punch loops for your Tye-wraps. Love the tool-free design. Many slots for your drives and a 3.5 adapter for that size drive/device.
Large window and Does-Not have the screws going though the plastic. This is a great improvement over others that do.
Everything is Black and i do wish the power button has some bit of color so it can be located more easily, but after you use it a few times it becomes irrelevant.
Lots of room except for one thing and that is in the Cons area.
A great case for those wanting a black sturdy case with lots of bays and tool-free installation.

Cons: I use only Ultra Modular Power Supplies and i wanted a 120mm Purple fan installed in the area that was designed for this, but you cannot put one in with a modular PS. You can't get to the connections with it in. Now this will cost an Egg for this blunder.
Also if you have a motherboard with the SATA connections pointing towards the front of the case and not straight up or at an angle this is another problem and right angle SATA cables cannot be used there. Still with the designed back panel being beveled out that is not a real issue so no Egg is docked for that small infraction.

Other Thoughts: There are two 120mm fans that come with the case and you can mount 2 more in the top or one 240mm in the top and if NO using a modular power supply you can most likely get a 120mm fan in the bottom, but i am not sure about that. I do believe an 80mm fan can be installed with a modular power supply, but it sure does make you upset when you have purchased a 120mm fan to be placed specifically in that area.
Still the case is solid and i recommend it for your system.
