4 out of 5 eggsGood Case

This review is from: Thermaltake Core V1 Extreme Mini ITX Cube Chassis, Compatible with air and Liquid Cooling Builds (CA-1B8-00S1WN-00)

Pros: good price for quality,
I was able to fit a ASUS STRIX GTX 980 inside the case,
good compatibility,
little room for cable management,

Cons:
annoying thermaltake badge infront of the chass,
bad noisy hard drives bay holders,
come with only one 200mm fan, no rear fans in box,
oftenly hit the power button by accident,

Other Thoughts: looks nice for water cooling, would buy the V21 next time

5 out of 5 eggsSmall, Spacious and Solid!

This review is from: Thermaltake Core V1 Extreme Mini ITX Cube Chassis, Compatible with air and Liquid Cooling Builds (CA-1B8-00S1WN-00)

Pros: Cooling is great! This is actually the 2nd one I've purchased (white and black). It's very spacious for a mini-ITX case. Temperatures stay very frosty even when gaming around 6+ hours a day on a Cooler Master EVO. Currently modding the case to add a 240mm water cooler. I really like the interchangeable panels. If you're a modder, you can move the bottom panel (PSU exit and case feet) and install it on the other sides of the case.

Cons: The HDD cages were loose inside the case. Not deducting any eggs as no damage was done inside.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this case for a mini-ITX modding project. I absolutely love the durability of the case. It doesn't feel cheap at all. I would definitely recommend others to check out this little box.

4 out of 5 eggsA cute looking cube I'd recommend to anyone doing their first mini-ITX build.

This review is from: Thermaltake Core V1 Extreme Mini ITX Cube Chassis, Compatible with air and Liquid Cooling Builds (CA-1B8-00S1WN-00)

Pros: About the size of a toaster, easily removable side panels, looks awesome,

Cons: Lack of directions for back of case input housing, dumb HDD screws with rudders.

Other Thoughts: It's a pretty sweet case and I really love how small it is. It has wonderful air flow by splitting the wires to be routed through the bottom of the cube and the components on top. All the panels come off and attach easily. The sys fan runs very quiet. There were no instructions to remove the padding on the attachable input cover that you put on the back of the case (yes you must remove it).

The best way I've found to install it is first remove all panels (sides top bottom front), install your PSU, place the bottom panel back on, then install the cpu and ram to the motherboard, then the motherboard to the case, then vidya card,. Try to route as many wires up through the corners and leave as much wire in the bottom portion of the cube as possible.

It's a sweet case, I really enjoyed building it!

5 out of 5 eggsLove this little cube!

This review is from: Thermaltake Core V1 Extreme Mini ITX Cube Chassis, Compatible with air and Liquid Cooling Builds (CA-1B8-00S1WN-00)

Pros: I'm not an extremely experienced builder, but I knew what I wanted and needed out of a small machine. I was looking for a small stack on top of my workstation case that I could build a render node in. With an i7 5820k and 32GB of memory, I'm ready to rock the render times adding this little guy to the mix!

Cons: It's not that much of a con, but more of a warning this case is tiny! Be sure to check compatibilities on pcpartpicker or similar, and double check measurements!

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect case

This review is from: Thermaltake Core V1 Extreme Mini ITX Cube Chassis, Compatible with air and Liquid Cooling Builds (CA-1B8-00S1WN-00)

Pros: - Everything fit perfectly.
- Front fan is quiet
- Good quality for a super low priced unit.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Installed with a Asrock AM1H-ITX powered by an external 19V power supply so the PSU space is used for extra wiring. I was scared when reading other reviews but I am totally satisfied for the price paid.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat, cool-looking box

This review is from: Thermaltake Core V1 Extreme Mini ITX Cube Chassis, Compatible with air and Liquid Cooling Builds (CA-1B8-00S1WN-00)

Pros: Looks good sitting on the floor in the corner of the living room.
Plenty of space.
All five sides (not the back) are easy to take off. Taking the bottom off helped when installing the atx power supply.

Cons: I'm using this case for a NAS/media server that runs 24/7. The 200mm fan on the front is quiet but I don't need it to run 24/7 as well. Not sure if it's because the fan has a 3-pin connection or if it's the motherboard/BIOS, but I can't get the fan to not run full blast all of the time.

Other Thoughts: This case isn't ideal for a NAS with more than two 3.5" HDDs. But you could mount two more on one of the side grills.

4 out of 5 eggsShort time...first impressions.

This review is from: Thermaltake Core V1 Extreme Mini ITX Cube Chassis, Compatible with air and Liquid Cooling Builds (CA-1B8-00S1WN-00)

Pros: I didn't really get to spend much time with the case, because I ordered the wrong size. Make sure to double check when your ordering. :) Overall I thought it was a cool little case. The size of it would have been great if I was going for a mITX. For the price it is about what you would expect. I would have given it a little lower score if the cost of the item would have been much higher, but this is considering you get what you pay for. Overall the design seemed solid, and I would have trusted it in a good low cost build. There is plenty of airflow, and the modular like design gives it a lot of flexibility.

Cons: A little too bare bones for me. Plenty of options for extra fans but only comes with the one front radiator which is non filtered. If you are looking for something that you can put your own touch to from the beginning, this is great. But if I am already having to add new or replace with better quality fans I decided to look at other options that had them included. I think if it were a mITX I was going for, this case might have been suitable with the open-vented like structure it had to it. But looking in to the future I decided I wanted something that was going to keep from dusting up too quickly.

Other Thoughts: I should mention again that the rating is based off of its price point. The structure of the case was solid, but seemed a little cheap in a general sense. Incredibly light weight which could be a good or a bad thing. I didn't get to use it long enough to give a solid report because I ended up upgrading to a slightly more premium case. The upgrade cost me a good extra $100, but in the end I feel very good about the decision.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat ITX Case on a budget

This review is from: Thermaltake Core V1 Extreme Mini ITX Cube Chassis, Compatible with air and Liquid Cooling Builds (CA-1B8-00S1WN-00)

Pros: - Very spacious for an ITX
- Cable management was actually very easy for such a small build
- Built-in air filters for the front intake and the PSU
- Case feels sturdy and well built

Cons: - Front air filter is non-removable
- HDD cages are confusing and the documentation is far from helpful
- Power LED is excessively bright, I ended up unplugging it all together

Other Thoughts: The only issues I had with this case pertained to the HDD cages. They're difficult to remove and put back in. In addition, if you mount a 2.5" SSD behind a 3.5" HDD (the only way to use 4 drives) the SSD sits awkwardly and doesn't look like it's in the right place and the only documentation is essentially a diagram of where screws should go. The rack it goes into also scraped a bunch of plastic of the top of my drive before I could get it in there.

All in all a great little case though, with all the features you'd find in something at double the price.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent case

This review is from: Thermaltake Core V1 Extreme Mini ITX Cube Chassis, Compatible with air and Liquid Cooling Builds (CA-1B8-00S1WN-00)

Pros: Large fan
Filtered air
Separate intakes and exhaust for both PSU and mainboard
Rubber mounts for 3.5" drives
Accepts ATX12V form factor

Cons: I wish it had more drive slot trays, it has room for them on in side along the edge (it comes with mounts for 2x 2.5" and 2x 2.5" or 3.5"

Other Thoughts: Verdict: Excellent, would buy again

5 out of 5 eggsPretty Amazing Case, and I should know

This review is from: Thermaltake Core V1 Extreme Mini ITX Cube Chassis, Compatible with air and Liquid Cooling Builds (CA-1B8-00S1WN-00)

Pros: Small and compact compared to mid and full size towers
Good looks
USB 3.0 ports
4 sides can be swapped with other side panels (very cool feature!)
Easy to pop off front grill and mesh screen filter for the PSU.
Can fit a full size PSU and GPU (although my Gigabyte G1 960 was 1mm too long for this case)
Fan is very quiet

Cons: Not as small as other form factors
No built in SD card readers
Buttons are on the side of the case (good if you have the case sidways, bad if you have it frontward against a wall)

Other Thoughts: I have been building PC's as a hobby for the past 13 years. I have owned the old school cases and more recently built in Corsair 600T, 650D; Cooler Master HAF cases; a few mid tower Antec's among others. Corsair makes amazing cases and in my opinion are the standard for best cases, but cost an arm and a leg. I wasn't expecting much with this, even though I have owned previous Thermaltake towers with mixed results, but they never seemed top tier.

Then I decided to build this mini itx system and thought, meh, if I'm going somewhat budget on this build, why not get a cheaper case? I mean, the case isn't as important as the internals so I figured save an extra $70 by getting this case over the nice Corsiar right? So, when this arrived I couldn't believe how nice it was. It might not be the best in this price range, but I can't believe they made this case for this price point! I love that I can switch the windowed panel to any side I want, I love that the tower has a super quiet fan and can still support a AIO liquid cooler. I love the fact that it can support larger GPU's (although my Gigabyte G1 960 was literally 1mm too long for the case, so be aware of that). It fit my full sized modular PSU without issue. Its a pretty amazing case and I'd bet you won't find one better at this price point. If your building a compact PC and want a good case at a cheap price, you can stop looking and get this.
