Pros: umm it fits everything.....and black goes with everything....so buy this.

Cons: not really a Con. if you want the Half windows that they make for this model....you have to buy them from thermaltake themselves......the should offer a model with them!

Other Thoughts: Yeah you want this NOW!

2 out of 5 eggsGreat Case but with horrible mistakes and Customer Service

This review is from: Thermaltake Core X9 Black E-ATX Stackable Tt LCS Certified Cube Chassis CA-1D8-00F1WN-00

Pros: It is really roomy for all of the parts to fit in smoothly and nicely as well as fully customizable. I enjoy having the fan options on my case how I want as well as my motherboard laying flat down.

A bit of work with all of the parts but once again if you are willing to put in the effort and work then you get great reward for a clean setup as well as how you want it.

Cons: Upon finally getting to replacing my PC case I found the front panel sound wire was severely destroyed so I cannot use my front audio ports. I did send Thermaltake a email asking for a replacement but no response and no email.(My guess is if they see this they will tell me to just try again by sending them another support email.)

I do kind of wish that there was maybe some wire covers or J-Channel type attachments to make the wiring easier to hide.

Other Thoughts: Was on sale for a decent price.

I got a busted Luna 12 blue led strip case fan but that is a different subject.

5 out of 5 eggsRelease the Kraken

This review is from: Thermaltake Core X9 Black E-ATX Stackable Tt LCS Certified Cube Chassis CA-1D8-00F1WN-00

Pros: -Tons of room
-More room
-and some extra room.

This case is awesome. One of the few cases on the market that you can shove pretty much any combination of radiators you can think of in here. No lack of accessories either.

Cons: -Drive cages are a little space inefficient, but cant take an egg for that, it allows for better passive cooling of drives at the expense of volume...which there is plenty of in this case.
-No way to mount a radiator on the top half of the walls. Cant take an egg for this one either, because there are so many other ways to mount rads.

Other Thoughts: MobyDick got a Napoleon Complex when he met the X9 face to face.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome case! Bigger than I was expecting

This review is from: Thermaltake Core X9 Black E-ATX Stackable Tt LCS Certified Cube Chassis CA-1D8-00F1WN-00

Pros: -Lots of space makes cable management easy to control
-Power/USB interface can be changed to either side which is nice depending on where you place your PC
-Very sturdy

Cons: -The screws that hold the side panels good but the holes for them were a little off, which makes it hard to take the panels off or put them back on. Can also cause the screws to strip if you're not careful.

Other Thoughts: The only issue i really have is trying to utilize all 4 usb 3.0 ports for the case. My MOBO has a spot for on of the cables, i'm just not sure how to set up the other cable for use of the usb. Otherwise, solid case.

4 out of 5 eggsClose to perfect.

This review is from: Thermaltake Core X9 Black E-ATX Stackable Tt LCS Certified Cube Chassis CA-1D8-00F1WN-00

Pros: Amazing amount of space to accommodate a myriad of hardware.
Amazing cooling characteristics.
Amazing acoustics (nothing rattles or vibrates).
Very stout / sturdy construction.

Cons: Fit and finish was great but not perfect. The side panels fit well but not perfect 9/10. The front facia for the 5.25" bay probably the worst fit I've ever seen in a case. There's a good 3 to 4mm gap all around the Blu Ray Player and no amount of adjusting will fix it. I think some engineer was really trying to play it safe here.

Regarding the 5.25 bays WORST SCREWLESS DESIGN EVER!. Absolutely terrible, instructions simply say slide the device in, well I gingerly attempted that and proceeded to snap off these tiny pencil tip sized pieces of plastic for the latch to rest in the screw hole of the device. A second attempt in another bay netted the same results. Utter rubbish design. This clamp on the side then has holes in it provided for screws if you so choose - which are impossible to use since the hole is so narrow and deep and the latch so thick making it so any attempt at trying to get a screw in there will result in it falling down and likely being lost in some crevice. Using just the one sided clamp does not firmly hold a DVD player so screws are required anyhow. Thermaltake please just do away with this mechanism completely! I cannot stress enough how terrible this design is. NEVER should such a system be made of rigid plastic - it should be made of something flexible like polypropylene. This latching mechanism was by far the biggest disappointment in the whole case design.

Other Thoughts: Minor annoyances some thumb screws were pointed sharp (I like this as it makes it easier to get them started) however not all of them came this way. There was a mix of blunt and pointed tip thumb screws.

Overall a great case its just that latching mechanism for the 5.25 bays really made me rage. 9 out of 10 overall would still highly recommend this case.

It's MUCH larger than I anticipated the box it came in was literally the size of a mini fridge and the case itself nearly weighs 50lbs.

5 out of 5 eggsbig and lots of space!

This review is from: Thermaltake Core X9 Black E-ATX Stackable Tt LCS Certified Cube Chassis CA-1D8-00F1WN-00

Pros: can mode almost anything for this case.
I didn't change any thing, left it where it was and good to work with. lots of room.

Cons: nothing so far, other than when front panel is off, top and bottom of 5.25 bay area, this little thing is bent and not sure if it suppose to look like that or not.

4 out of 5 eggsGood design and flexibility, but terrible HD cages; metal feels a little thin/flimsy; door fitment not good

This review is from: Thermaltake Core X9 Black E-ATX Stackable Tt LCS Certified Cube Chassis CA-1D8-00F1WN-00

Pros: Overall, the case is designed well, allowing for good internal layout, and slots for fans/radiators galore. The front fan is a 200mm which is an oddball size, but it will allow good airflow at very low noise. If you don't need any 5.25" bays, you can add a second one above it.

Also, this case is large. Like, really large. You can just about fit a four-year-old into it, if you leave one door open. Take a meter stick and make sure you can fit this where you want it to go. For the bottom feet, the spacing is 20.75" by 11" on center.

The case comes with a set of 2 hard drive mounts, which allow pretty good flexibility in placement within the case.

Lots of dust filters built into the case, on all sides including the bottom.

Cons: The case comes with a set of 2 hard drive mounts, but these mounts require you to affix them to one of the 120/140mm fan mounting plates. In addition, the drives are oriented such that they completely block the bottom (or side) intake next to where you mount them. They should have been designed with a 90 degree rotation to allow better airflow.

While the larger case intakes are covered by magnetic filters, but the front panel and part of the bottom have cheesy plastic grids that are held in tightly by stiff tabs at the edges. These just look like something that will break a month or 2 into ownership.

The door mounts are weak, and reek of cost-cutting. They are not hinged doors, but are the old-school (think 1990's) style doors that have to be lifted and slid into place, then tightened with the 2 thumb screws while being held in place.

Finally, I'm still building my system in this case, but the sheet metal vibrates a lot while moving the case around, so I fear I will have to do some noise dampening/padding to this case.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this is not a bad case. It sounds like I'm being hard on it, but I have been a professional PC builder for years and have seen and worked in tens if not hundreds of cases. Also, Thermaltake being an established brand does raise the level of expectations. While the concept and layout are good, some additional attention to detail would go a long way towards making this seem a lot more premium.

2 out of 5 eggsThermaltake Core X9 Black E-ATX Stackable Tt LCS Certified Cube Chassis

This review is from: Thermaltake Core X9 Black E-ATX Stackable Tt LCS Certified Cube Chassis CA-1D8-00F1WN-00

Pros: Is cheap for size.

Cons: -Shipping box looked undamaged but I was disappointed to find out case had bent corner
I had to attempt bending metal so i could open side panel to start my build due to thin steel I could make case usable.

-Thumb screws strip easy and extremely hard to remove with screwdriver and geting screws to thread when installing side panel's is annoying and time consuming.

-Transparent Window had plastic wrapping cramped along the edge's used a needle to remove plastic.

-Rear exhaust fan is only 120mm. Front Panel cable's are not long enough for a clean build.

-Case Really needs another 200mm Front intake fan included for people doing liquid cpu cooler and air cooled video cards.

Other Thoughts: Only buy this case in person to inspect for damages and get for 110$ or less.
If your doing liquid CPU and air cooled graphics cards you will
need to Buy several case fans to have any hope of cooling video cards.
If you are doing All Air cooled components buy something else and save 100$+ in case fans/accessories and remember each fan you add make's noise.

I Can't recommend this Case to anyone at this time.
