Thermaltake Core X2 Cube Chassis

Core X2, the first mATX chassis of Core X Series presented by Thermaltake, is a cube case offering endless stackable capacity and expandability for enthusiasts to create massive liquid cooling systems, utilize as a file server as well as accommodate dual systems. Users can customize the chassis for the best viewing presentation with an interchangeable window and I/O panel design. The Core X2 delivers outstanding cooling performance with compatibility for extensive DIY/AIO LCS and overclocking components, further enhancing the reputation that the air-cooling units of this series has become renowned for. It is guaranteed to be an immensely powerful system!

Core X2

Stackable for Enthusiasts

With its endless stacking design, the Core X2 is in a class above the rest. Virtually limitless utility is possible; it offers an expandable system allowing enthusiasts to incorporate externally-modular upgrades. Stacked together, the chassis opens up space to expand the liquid cooling system, the storage solutions, or even create dual systems, thereby enabling a dedicated top/bottom set-up for pure cooling. When stacked, the maximum radiator length supported is 600mm on the front side.

Core X2

Remarkable Expansion

Designed for high-end gaming system compatibility, the Core X2’s modular drive racks allow gamers to easily install up to six data storage devices, a dual VGA expansion slot of up to 18.8" (480mm) in length, and a tower CPU cooler as high as 230mm. Even with a high-wattage PSU stretching to 7.8" (200mm) in length, it still leaves plenty of space for cable management. Moreover, two 360mm radiators can be installed on top of the chassis, delivering superior cooling performance.

Core X2

Great Ventilation

The Core X2’s unparalleled cooling ability offers fan brackets with various mounting points to support any type of gaming system that can be accommodated , including DIY/AIO liquid-cooling systems and air-cooling units. Two 120mm fan are preinstalled on the front and rear to reassure and guarantee the flow of aeration. The fan brackets can either be adjusted for 120mm, 140mm, or 200mm fans on the top panel, while there is room for 120mm and 140mm fans on the side panel.

Core X2
Core X2

Chambers Concept

Optimized for space management, the Core X2 is divided into two main chambers: the upper chamber is made for cooling performance and better efficiency, while the lower one is made for PSU and drive bays. Thanks to the removable 2.5"/3.5" drive device racks, there is plenty of flexibility to gain the maximum interior space when needed for advanced cooling performance or liquid systems build.

Core X2
Core X2

Fully Modular Design

A "3 + 7" drive bay concept design for accessory and storage devices makes setting up the best storage solution on the market super easy and flexible. In addition, a customizable 5.25" & 3.5" drive bay feature enables users to freely interchange the 3.5" hard-drive cages to suit their particular needs.

Core X2

Interchangeable Window and I/O Panel

Users can customize the chassis for the best viewing presentation with an interchangeable window and I/O panel design.

Core X2

Tt LCS Certification

Tt LCS Certified is a Thermaltake exclusive certification applied to only products that pass the design and hardcore enthusiasts standards that a true LCS chassis should be held to. The Tt LCS certification was created so that we at Thermaltake can designate to all power users which chassis have been tested to be best compatible with extreme liquid cooling configurations to ensure you get the best performance from the best features and fit.

5 out of 5 eggsEGGCELLENT CASE FOR WATER COOLING!!

Pros: -Fully Modular
-Huge
-Outstanding watercooling capabilities
-Outstanding aircooling capabilities
-Interchangeable IO on front
-Magnetic Dust Filters
-Superb wire management
-Heavy, strong material
-Long front panel cables
-Interchangable window from left to right.
-Top, bottom, or stand-alone
-2 fans that come with case
-Great packing
-Great PRICE!!

Cons: n/a

Other Thoughts: -Motherboard tray was abit flimsy without a motherboard... (not really a con i guess, lulz)
-Thumb screws need screwdriver to initially untighten
-Magnetic air filters are taped together (can untape, very easy, just a note)

If I was doing a multi system setup, I'd buy two and stack them, one a server and one a gaming pc... id just keep my nuc and call it a day...

5 out of 5 eggsI like it

Pros: Big lots of room. Looks nice and everything has some kinda dust filter.I had no issues putting it together no problems at all.

This is a nice case for watercooling or air cooling. Some times bigger is better !!!

Cons: None really i knew what i was buying.

Other Thoughts: I have 5 120mm fans 2 200mm fans and one big 230 fan in the front. (i took the fans out of a old haf x full tower case i had)
the 230 fit and the bolts the included worked !!. In time i will be putting a full custom water loop in this case. for now its not real tidy inside but that will change.

All in all i like it wish i had bought it sooner !!!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Lot's of space for liquid cooling, extra fans. Truly an overclockers dream. The entire case comes apart. Easy to work with, lots of room to route and hide cables. There are also fan filters. There's a vent below the power supply mount to blow the hot air out of the bottom of the case. It's very configurable and great for displaying a high end gaming rig with all the water cooling and LEDs. Something any LAN Party goer would be into.

Cons: Giant case for only an mATX motherboard. When I say giant, that's an understatement. If you're building a basic system you almost don't even need fans, there's so much dead space in it.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for an HTPC rig. Unless you're water cooling, don't get this case. It is way over sized for my needs (and to think there is an even larger version of this case, the X9, AND these are stackable, lol). Note - even though this is overkill for me, it's still an awesome case. I'm not going to knock eggs just because I didn't break out a tape measure when reading the specs (and I do recommend you look at a tape measure before ordering). I wish they had these types of cases 10-15 years ago when I was gaming and going to LAN Parties.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat case, bigger than expected.

Pros: Excellent build space. Its nice to remove case options you dont want or need. Wish it had two windows.

Cons: Read the tech specs carefully as this thing is HUGE. It feels like 2.5 regular minitowers inside. I didnt read carefully and assumed the external bays were 3.5 instead of 5.25,

Case threading is extremely weak on all screw holes and the cheap anodized screws dont like to thread in any hole. Ive stripped out three holes just with my fingers.

Other Thoughts: While a great case, and is an amazing design, it just feels cheap due to some of the finer points such as the screws and the screw holes being the weakest part of this entire build. It's like they had a great idea and the bookeepers and marketing people strangled it into mediocreness.

3 out of 5 eggsDeceptively HUGE

Pros: It will fit everything other than a real ATX motherboard

Cons: At this size, it is pointlessly enormous for a microATX setup. Why would you reduce your motherboard options and size when this case takes up more space than most real ATX tower cases? I bought it thinking that it would be much smaller than it turned out to be (pictures don't give a size reference and even the box isn't a great indicator. It's not heavy, and I was expecting a smaller cube with accessories that were nicely packed. Instead it is already completely built but fills almost the whole gigantic box. It is fully twice the size of many I was thinking were in the size class.

Other Thoughts: Bought to downsize to a microatx but capable set up to fit better under a desk that is shared. This thing makes my true bohemoth lian li case look like it was on a diet in comparison. had to return because it isn't a down size.

5 out of 5 eggsdidn't work for me but nice case

Pros: Nicely built case. Alot of space. Great open design.

Cons: None other than the exchange for the core x9 case wasn't totally free lol and I was dumb for not double checking my mobile size.

.

Other Thoughts: I didn't realize my mobo I had received prior to ordering this case was a normal atx size board that I had vertically mounted. This case only fits micro and smaller mobos horizontally.

***Does not come with the pictured 200 mm fan. But does include 2 fans (1 front and 1 rear)
