4 out of 5 eggsSilent Service - This thing would go on a Submarine.

This review is from: Thermaltake Suppressor F51 E-ATX Mid Tower Tt LCS Certified Gaming Silent Computer Case CA-1E1-00M1NN-00

Pros: How quiet is it? Hold on, I had to go across the house to turn off the fridge which can be heard from my office now.
OK, now that I eliminated all other household noise, I can honestly say that barely a hum comes from this and its right next to my monitor. Its about as loud as a ceiling fan on medium, yes this thing is by far the quietest case Ive ever owned.

- Modular design is nice, I took out the unused drive bays with 4 easy screws. Lots of options to remove sound dampening
equipment and add extra fans. I wont myself because the stock is plenty already.

-Functionality is good. 4 USB in the front.

-Front bay cover has a solid feel and magnetic shut to it.

-Side panels are weighty and contain a neoprene dampener.

-All sides except the back have removable dust covers. I predict this will stay clean inside for years to come with simple outside
dust offs.

-Plenty room for larger video cards, very roomy for mid tower. Even with all the drive bays inserted, I did not feel cramped with
my GTX 970.

Cons: - Quality control on the screws is severely lacking.
I stripped many and even broke a couple trying to get my motherboard fastened down.
The threads just didn't all match evenly.

- SSD mounts are pretty lame and the racks for the hard drive bays were frustrating to weave the cables into.
I had to cut the plastic molding on the mounting tray so my secondary SSD could accept a power coupling.

- Cable controllers for the front fan did not match my mother board and an extension/adapter will be needed if I want the
functionality of the manual fan override switch in the front. I wont bother, I just plugged both chassis fans into my MOBO and
I'll let it decide speed.

Other Thoughts: Overall excellent case and works as promised. Some people like flashy cases with lights, bells and whistles.
I prefer a simple silent experience and this thing delivers on both counts. -1 egg because of the few cons I listed, would I get this again? Yes...absolutely. Quietest case I've ever had and the price is not a budget breaker.

2 out of 5 eggsDamaged from box

This review is from: Thermaltake Suppressor F51 E-ATX Mid Tower Tt LCS Certified Gaming Silent Computer Case CA-1E1-00M1NN-00

Pros: nice spacing, quiet

Cons: Big deep one inch scratch on front straight from the box

Other Thoughts: over all feels kinda cheep, not the sturdiest or most manageable.

2 out of 5 eggsNot compatible with 12x13 E-ATX

This review is from: Thermaltake Suppressor F51 E-ATX Mid Tower Tt LCS Certified Gaming Silent Computer Case CA-1E1-00M1NN-00

Pros: Decently made. Great value. Would have loved to be able to use it.

Cons: Tried to use with SuperMicro E-ATX/EEB 12x13 board. This does not have the appropriate holes drilled.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
Because dimension of SSI EEB is same as E-ATX. It does not mean mounting holes will be same as E-ATX. This is the reason SSI EEB not on Suppressor F51's motherboard compatibility list.

5 out of 5 eggsDid not honor rebate !!! Pretty great silent case, Honored warranty

This review is from: Thermaltake Suppressor F51 E-ATX Mid Tower Tt LCS Certified Gaming Silent Computer Case CA-1E1-00M1NN-00

Pros: Magnetic fan filters basically everywhere (This is great because I have a cat)! Even has double layer of filters in the front.
Sound deadening foam all over the place. This case's approach to the "moduvents" is much better than the R5's because you can take out the foam and use fans without detracting from the aesthetics of the case due to the magnetic fan filters that cover every intake vent.
Very flexible fan mounting options
Very modular case

Cons: Edit 2016/01/08: Did not honor rebate, saying that I had not sent in the rebate on time. However, I definitely did postmark my rebate before the deadline and have the receipt from USPS to prove it. Will be appealing the rebate results and if necessary, will dispute this issue with my credit card. One of the main reasons I purchased this case was because of the rebate. It is pretty crooked of them to require cutting out the UPC code in order to submit the rebate so that you can't return the product anymore.

Build quality, though pretty decent, could be a little better. Noticed some panels didn't exactly line up correctly, and certain areas were a bit crooked. Hard to tell if not looking closely though
Came with punctured fan filter and slightly damaged fan. But thermaltake honored their warranty, and they sent me the replacement parts and I am sending my broken parts back.
Cannot switch side door opens from
Would be nice to be able to mount drives behind motherboard as well
Great price with rebate. Although... rebate seems to be slow, so hopefully the rebate actually is honored.

Other Thoughts: I own a Define R5 as well, and definitely prefer the Suppressor F51 more largely due to the better filtering and better "moduvent" system. I hope thermaltake continues to improve/innovate upon existing designs and create awesome/affordable products. Please create a nice horizontal motherboard case with sturdy carrying handles!

4 out of 5 eggsNice acoustic & cooling options for the price

This review is from: Thermaltake Suppressor F51 E-ATX Mid Tower Tt LCS Certified Gaming Silent Computer Case CA-1E1-00M1NN-00

Pros: Full/extended ATX! Sound damping, wide open options for air or liquid cooling, black interior and screws, included 140/200mm fans are a bonus. Mouse/keyboard cable strain relief on the rear is nice and not mentioned in any reviews or specs that I've seen.

Cons: Either I have a bad fan controller, or it's just garbage and useless unless you want to run fans on low speeds all the time, not as a real controller. Only 2 speeds, low and lower. They're 5.8v and 8.6v so you CANNOT achieve full speed or run magnetic bearing fans as I planned to. The HIGH speed is barely over 7v? It should be 12v/7v at the least or 12/7/5 since a 4-pin molex has those anyway.

First one arrived with a bad fan 200mm plug. Since it came with the case, they wouldn't let me exchange just the fan or send a new plug. I had to RMA the entire case. Sorry, Newegg. I tried to save you $40 on shipping.

Door front doesn't look as nice as pictured online. Front panel inside the door looks very cheap with a fake mesh design that looks tackier to me than plain ABS.

Some screws are hard to turn. I needed a screwdriver on the drive cage thumbscrews. Probably paint/powdercoat in the threads after they were drilled/tapped. This is a common (very minor) complaint.

Other Thoughts: Construction is a bit thin, but that's okay with me. To quote a video review, that's proper engineering--it's designed to do its job and no more. Extra metal would feel more substantial but would add weight and cost for no real benefit. I'm sure this case can support 200+ lb as it is.

I'd like to see 200mm support on the bottom. There's really no reason not to. Just make the bottom like the top.

Why not add a 3.5" bay or a 3rd 5.25" bay to the front? There's plenty of vertical clearance and some people want a 3.5" multimedia reader/USB hub or fan controller. I'm sure somebody out there wishes they could have that with 2 5-1/4" drives

4 out of 5 eggsGood temps, build a bit tricky.

This review is from: Thermaltake Suppressor F51 E-ATX Mid Tower Tt LCS Certified Gaming Silent Computer Case CA-1E1-00M1NN-00

Pros: I really liked how I could remove the hard drive cages and mount up to two of their trays in the back of the case, this should be good for cooling.

Cons: One of the motherboard standoffs did not screw in, and the instructions never mention screw types, but there were a lot of different screws all mixed together, so it took a while to sort them out.

Other Thoughts: This was my first build, and everything went generally well. Some of the screws were very difficult to loosen. So far the temperatures have been good with my i5 and 970, and the noise is pretty good, especially from the front. I'm not sure how this compares to other cases because of my lack of experience, but overall I am happy with this case.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case, poor quality control

This review is from: Thermaltake Suppressor F51 E-ATX Mid Tower Tt LCS Certified Gaming Silent Computer Case CA-1E1-00M1NN-00

Pros: Very clean
Extremely modular
Low price
Sturdy
Lots of grommeted cable management slots
Great sound dampening
Built in fan controller
USB 3 on the front panel
The aesthetic of the case is really clean

Cons: Poor QC, the case I was shipped was slightly warped. the lower left-hand corner of the windowed side of the case was not properly bent in manufacturing, the windowed panel didn't sit flush against side and front of the case and almost wouldn't close or open. I was able to straighten the steel and now it looks flawless. I am not sure however if others would be able to do it as well as I was and they shouldn't have to do so, this type of issue should be caught before it leaves the factory, It was really obvious.

Because of this issue I felt I had to take an Egg off the rating.

Other Thoughts: I really like the case and even with the defect I still fully recommend this case. If yours shows up flawed like mine, just return it and get a replacement. I would normally not recommend a product with such a flaw, but I really like the case despite it.

5 out of 5 eggsEveryone PC builder should use this case

This review is from: Thermaltake Suppressor F51 E-ATX Mid Tower Tt LCS Certified Gaming Silent Computer Case CA-1E1-00M1NN-00

Pros: This case is amazing. Very well built. No cheap plastic or flimsy metal here. Even the few plastic parts are solid and quality. Comes with fan controller. Great filters that are designed to actually keep dust out. Great sound proof material used. Lots of room for almost anything.

Cons: The manual is a bit useless, which seems to be the trend these days. This was not enough to take away an egg.

Other Thoughts: Love this case. Been building computers for years and this is the best case I've had yet. Everyone should use this case, gamer or not. This case is very well built, designed for any builder. Real quality that's well beyond it's reasonable price. Thanks Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsThis thing is BIG

This review is from: Thermaltake Suppressor F51 E-ATX Mid Tower Tt LCS Certified Gaming Silent Computer Case CA-1E1-00M1NN-00

Pros: Great space inside case, lots of options for fan and radiator mounting, alot of racks for HDDS if you need, sound dampening alright. One thing i felt i should mention is that this thing has a fan controller built into the front control panel of the case. I didnt see this on the page anywhere and ended up buying a seperate one. It has plugs for 4 3-pin fans. This thing also has a very modern clean look to it, that takes it out of the flashy pc category and defines it as more mature and allows it to blend in well with my entertainment center.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I wish i could provide a better review as far as sound dampening but i went ham and put a fan in every place i could to maximize airflow. Over all for having 5 140-mm, 1 200-mm, the three fans on my gpu, and 2 120-mm, fans its kinda loud. But i also basically removed all the sound dampening material to allow for that. If i had a good water cooler set-up with this thing and one main radiator in the front large section this thing would probly be ultra quiet. So that will probably be my next project.
