5 out of 5 eggsBig and Spacious

Pros: Big. So big. Set up for water cooling. Cable management is a breeze in this case. Easy to access anything in this case. Smoothest build I have every done.

Cons: Big. Listed as Mid tower. It is every bit as big as my last full sized case. Knew this going in though.

Other Thoughts: Make sure your cables are long enough and then get this case.

5 out of 5 eggsI love this case

Pros: Accessibility, with latching side panels; front panel USB ports; ease of installation of parts and connectors. SATA dock on top of the case, for temporarily connecting a bare HDD or SSD outside the case. Handsome.

Cons: Mid-tower turns out to be a wee short for my ASUS X99-Deluxe motherboard. Was unable to use brackets 1 & 8 of the case, so for that MoBo there are only 6 slots available. The double cable for front USB 3.0 connectors makes for a lot of thick cable. Fortunately, the availability of adapters, making it possible to connect the USB 3.0 front ports to the header on the MoBo, takes care of some complaints on that front. But that still leaves the problem of too much cable, and thick cable at that. Fortunately, the cable management of the case made it possible to solve that problem also.

Other Thoughts: I've just seen that this case is being discontinued. I hope they come out with another one just like it, with minor improvements. Best case I've ever seen.

5 out of 5 eggsJust Remember This is a Big Case

Pros: Well designed. Elegant. Edges are smoother than most. Has wire way behind/below the motherboard. The main case is as a result clear for good air flow. Replaced the rear fan with a Corsair H80i CPU cooler. Has filters in the front and below the power supply (have cats and terrible house keeping). The sides are latched rather than held in place with screws - easily opened and removed. Room for lots of drives.

Cons: It's big - most would not be affected. Expensive, for me worth it. Probably should include a USB 3.0 X 20 pin connector for appropriate motherboards. Probably should include a filter for the rear fan (the H80i recommends pulling air into the case).- might be useful aftermarket accessory.

Other Thoughts: I replaced a nice (big) Antec 900 case to get this system in - Asus Sabertooth 990Fx, Asus R9270 video card and Corsair RM750 modular power supply with 6 drives including 2 X SSD to fit . I built it in the old case and the cables simply took over the case, even considering the modular power supply. This one is much better but also bigger-the only way to open a can of worms is get a bigger can. The motherboard side looks terrific - good air flow looks like a pro put it together. The backside - not so much - not the case's fault. The nice modular power supply still has a lot of cable to deal with. The realities are that if you don't have a lot of drives so that there is space for the power supply cables, you don't need this case. If you've got a full boat set of drives - it's pretty hard to ignore. Yeah and it's pretty easy to get into and fool around with.

Pros: Cheap for what you get. Solid. Easy to work with! This was my first case I ever bought over 3 years ago and she is still going strong today.

3 out of 5 eggsFans don't work after awhile

Pros: -Great looking
-Tons of space
-Easy to organize the cables
-Easily removable front filter
-Tons of external data ports

Cons: -After a couple months, a few have the fans stopped working
-The USB 3.0 requires another USB 3.0 slot to plug into

Other Thoughts: For the price of this case, I would expect it to be bulletproof. I have bought quite a few cases, and none have had this problem so quickly. The top, and front fans have stopped working, and do not appear to function when plugged into other ports. I've read several comments about this same issue.

3 out of 5 eggsNow Without Its Flaws

Pros: Spacious, plenty of ventilation, well-styled, power supply intake and front dust guards are great, easy access to inside of computer, side window makes it easy to admire the clutter free insides of your computer, thanks to the cable hiding space afforded to you on the other side of the case.

Cons: Fan controller died after 3 years, small plastic piece that controls fan speed broke off at 2 years. I ended up plugging in the fans to my motherboard and everything works fine.

The case uses two long USB 3.0 cables that plug into the back of your motherboard in order to power the front side USB 3.0 ports. This is clunky and unsightly. I really wish these hookups were internal so that 1) I could retain the USB 3.0 ports on the back of my and 2) there wouldn't be cables coming out of the back of my case.

I wish there were more eye-hooks on the inside back for attaching zip/twist ties and cables.

The inside hard drive bays are riveted to the case, and cannot be removed to replace the front 200mm fan. It hasn't broken yet, fortunately.

Other Thoughts: The front hard drive access slot seems awesome, but I've used it twice in 3 years. External hard drives are so common these days that including such an interface seems a little gimmicky.

A friend who bought the same case around the same time I did also had his fan controller fail, and I've read online that we aren't the only ones. In the future, I won't consider a fan controller a bonus on Corsair cases that I may consider purchasing.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case

Pros: This is a very solid case. I previously had a CM HAFx (and older model of the HAF xm) which I thought was solid, but this is much more so! I really like the removable dust filter feature - a huge plus for me. It keeps my case a lot cleaner than my old hafx. The airflow is plenty for the moderate-high cpu and gpu air overclocking I do. Aesthetically it looks great and the nice big window is perfect for showing off hardware. The inside is painted black as well for a classy look. I found the removable/movable hhd/ssd drive bays to be a nice feature, I removed one bay to open up the airflow more directly behind the front fan.

Cons: The power button is a little more difficult to press than expected. Occasionally I have to press it a couple times because it doesn't register the first time.

Other Thoughts: Overall very pleased with the case. I spent a really long time picking out a case. I wanted high end features like removable dust filters and a solid frame without having to purchase a full sized tower at a high price. This case met my needs perfectly, and after about 6 months using it I am extremely pleased.

I use this computer for work/browsing and gaming.

5 out of 5 eggsSpace, features, and quality

Pros: - Plenty of room inside
- Typical Corsair cable managment (excellent)
- Fans are almost silent at stock speed plugged into motherboard
- Quality look and feel (window, side panel latches, push releases for front dust filter and media panel, etc.)

Cons: I bought it second hand and the previous owner told me the fan controller was prone to failure on these. He removed it so I couldn't see for myself.
- H110 fits but only in a pull configuration

Other Thoughts: I cut out the metal mesh in front of the front fan for
quieter operation and better airflow as it was redundant. I also removed both hard drive cages and mounted my SSD behind the motherboard.

Corsair has been my go to case for years now. Their look and features are always what I'm looking for. After 2 500r's I decided to try a different model. I wanted the 450d but found this one locally for dirt cheap. A little overkill for my needs but the price was nice.

4 out of 5 eggsVery solid case

Pros: Solid, heavy, simply styled. Looks like the obsidian monolith block from 2001 Space Odyssey. This is a "mid tower case"? It's huge and spacious!

Cons: Hernia-inducing heavy. Power and reset buttons can be somewhat hard to push (reset button being behind a small faceplate). After >1 yr of ownership, the top 200mm fan has crapped out. The OEM fans are mediocre quality, somewhat noisy.

Other Thoughts: I love the simple styling--I'm not into LAN parties or flash. This huge black box sits under my desk and does its job. I wish, for the price paid, the fans were a bit quieter and higher quality. Otherwise, there is more than enough room for whatever video cards and drives you want to mount. Interior is nicely finished, with no sharp edges.
