  • newegg Superior Cooling Performance Airflow is a breeze with the Carbide Series. Two front-panel intake fans, one rear exhaust fan, and one 200mm side fan are included, and there are a total of ten mounting points (four 120mm, six 120mm/140mm).
  • newegg Built for Builders High-performance gaming systems need lots of room to work with. With eight expansion slots and up to 452mm in length, and by removing one of the two hard drive cages (316mm if the cage in place), the Carbide 500R has room for triple-GPU installations for high end system set ups.
  • newegg Future-ready Support for USB 3.0 and 2.5" SSDs is built-in. Two USB 3.0 connectors are provided on the front panel and connect directly to motherboards with compatible USB 3.0 headers. Integrated SSD support lets you install 2.5" solid-state drives in any of the hard drive bays, without having to deal with adapters.
  • newegg Multi-channel Fan Controller The multi-channel fan controller allows you to control speed of the fans to regulate the internal temperature and noise level.
  • newegg Easy Access Thumb screws on the side panels, removable hard drive cages, tool-free drive installation and easy-access backplate cutout mean that you’ll spend less quality time with your screwdriver. The integrated dust filters can be quickly removed for easy maintenance.
  • newegg Looking good, Inside and Out. The beauty on the inside goes beyond the black-painted interior. Corsair’s innovative cable management system provides a straightforward way to route cables behind the motherboard, not across it where it can interfere with airflow and give your system a cluttered look. And since looks are an important part of any build, you’ll appreciate the ability to turn the front panel fan white LEDs on or off with the push of a button.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Case

Pros: Definitely a solid case. Holds everything compact inside and nothing gets cluttered. All fans and ports working like it's brand new, no problems whatsoever. Would recommend to anyone.

Cons: None so far.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked well for six months

Pros: Worked very well for 6 months.

Cons: Both front fans, power button, and Side fans died after 6 months. Currently waiting on RMA from corsair, though I hope I do not have to RMA the entire case. This is the second Corsair component that has died on me in 6 months, the first being the K95 keyboard which is currently in RMA. I had to pay 30 dollars to ship the broken keyboard back. I would cost me even more to ship an entire case, not to mention I would have to remove all hardware. Corsair customer service has not been as responsive when dealing with the case issue as compared to the keyboard issue. Not likely I will buy Corsair products in the future, unless it is from Micro center and with an extended warranty, so I don't have to spend substantial amounts of money shipping broken parts back to corsair.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Airflow, cable management, construction quality, ease of installation

Looks great and runs fairly quiet considering the number of fans and amount of ventilation.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: It was a breeze transplanting my old rig to this case. It took me a bit to figure out the best way to do certain things, like run cables and mount the drives, but once you figure it out you realize everything is here. I can't imagine a case that has more features than this one.

5 out of 5 eggsSatisfied

Pros: - great design
- sturdy construction
- quality purchase
- easy configuration
- love the tool-less setup
- expandability
- fan options

Cons: - wish the Hdd/Sdd holders were more sturdy

Other Thoughts: Personal preferences
- do not like the USB and audio connections hanging or connecting on the front of the case. I wish they were more like the Antec 900 where they are more angles towards the top of the case

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Price was excellent when I got it (60 after everything), looks good, airflow is good.

Cons: The case sometimes makes a very annoying vibration noise. I'm pretty sure it's not one of the hard drives because I've had these hard drives for a few years without issues. Every time I try to open the case to figure out what is doing it, it stops.

The next two cons are related to the fact that I have to travel with my computer at least 2 times a week. The rubber feet on the rear of the case have both fallen off, I've given up sticking them back on.

Also, the side doors have a section that sticks out about half an inch. I suppose it's for cable management behind the mother board and the big fan on the other side. The problem is, they aren't reinforced very well. I accidentally bent one side in with my elbow when I had the bright idea of carrying the case with one arm. Doesn't look so good now.

Other Thoughts: It would be an excellent case if I wasn't travelling with it so often and I could figure out what's making that vibration noise.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: - Really good airflow, especially useful for recent high-heat dissipation video cards
- All the space you need for your extension card

Cons: - Noisy stock fans at medium or high speed (front panel control), had to change them to reduce the noise output and the vibration on the case

3 out of 5 eggsRebate Impatience

Pros: Great product! Excellent case

Cons: Be patient, *very* patient, when it comes to the rebate!

Other Thoughts: First off, great case and product. I have built many systems with the 400r and 500r, and have been quite happy. My knock is on the company and/or rebate house, as they violate their terms and conditions on when you will get your rebate paid! Purchased this case as part of Newegg Black Friday sales, and no rebate check as of 3/4/14! Rebate form stated 8-10 weeks from submission date. Well, we are in March of the next year, and no check mailed. Shame on you Corsair!
