  • newegg Superior Cooling Performance Airflow is a breeze with the Carbide Series. Two front-panel intake fans, one rear exhaust fan, and one 200mm side fan are included, and there are a total of ten mounting points (four 120mm, six 120mm/140mm).
  • newegg Built for Builders High-performance gaming systems need lots of room to work with. With eight expansion slots and up to 452mm in length, and by removing one of the two hard drive cages (316mm if the cage in place), the Carbide 500R has room for triple-GPU installations for high end system set ups.
  • newegg Future-ready Support for USB 3.0 and 2.5" SSDs is built-in. Two USB 3.0 connectors are provided on the front panel and connect directly to motherboards with compatible USB 3.0 headers. Integrated SSD support lets you install 2.5" solid-state drives in any of the hard drive bays, without having to deal with adapters.
  • newegg Multi-channel Fan Controller The multi-channel fan controller allows you to control speed of the fans to regulate the internal temperature and noise level.
  • newegg Easy Access Thumb screws on the side panels, removable hard drive cages, tool-free drive installation and easy-access backplate cutout mean that you’ll spend less quality time with your screwdriver. The integrated dust filters can be quickly removed for easy maintenance.
  • newegg Looking good, Inside and Out. The beauty on the inside goes beyond the black-painted interior. Corsair’s innovative cable management system provides a straightforward way to route cables behind the motherboard, not across it where it can interfere with airflow and give your system a cluttered look. And since looks are an important part of any build, you’ll appreciate the ability to turn the front panel fan white LEDs on or off with the push of a button.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth Your Money

Pros: Plenty of space for drives, graphic cards, liquid cooling slots built in, more spare screws than you can shake a stick at. My favorite part, aside from the adjustable fan speeds, would have to be the removable air filters and space along the back of the case to hide your cables for those of you who like an organized case.

Cons: None so far

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing case!!!!

Pros: Large enough for my needs, minus the con below.
Cable Management space is plenty
Looks great

Cons: My one con is the amount of room in the top compartment. I wish it had 1-2 more inches of height on the case under the removable grille (this caused me to take an egg off, would be half an egg if I could :/)

Other Thoughts: got this for five zero after rebates, and wish I got it in white :(

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: Design
Ease of Access
Lots of Fans
Ports on Front
Large Interior
LED Lights

Cons: Heavy
Doesnt Pay My Bills

Other Thoughts: The case was a little heavier than expected, but that is not problem. Originally going to buy the 200R, until this went on sale.

4 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Just about everything

Cons: A few nitpicks, nothing major.

Other Thoughts: Coming from a full tower behemoth like the Antec 1200 I was worried this would be a bit of tight squeeze and temps would suffer. Not at all. Very happy and finally a own a case with all the common sense touches, that doesn't weigh 40 lbs.

Fifth star would be reserved for how long it lasts.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Well built sturdy case with plenty of versatility and room for my purpose ud3 mobo fits like charm. The massive SAPPHIRE R9 270X toxic OC edition graphics card also fits well in case. The fans that come with it move plenty of air and do it quietly.

Cons: not really a con but this case is a bit heavy for a mid tower.

Other Thoughts: Corsair Carbide Series 500R

Crucial M500 240GB
AMD FX-8350 Black Edition

4 out of 5 eggscase is fantasic

Pros: Easy to setup.
Well thought out design.
Tons of fan locations.
Nice cable routing.

Cons: Front usb panel not working 100%. Seems to be a known issue.

Other Thoughts: The front usb panel will detect my iPhone but just to charge it, I can't get data to transfer. I loaded windows 7 and windows 8.1 both have all the drivers loaded and all the usb devices enabled on device manager. 32g thumbdrive is not detected.

4 out of 5 eggsFantastic, Elegant Case

Pros: Sturdy, solid construction
Simple, yet pleasing aesthetically
Great airflow
Plenty of room
Cable routing is easy
Removable dust filter for bottom intakes

Cons: No removable dust filter for front intakes
One hole for motherboard standoff wasn't properly threaded, unable to put a standoff in that hole.
LED On/Off button and reset button hard to press because they sit flush and travel a pretty significant distance into the body of the switch housing. Someone with large fingers might have trouble using the switches.
Proprietary connections for LED fans that ship with case for the fan controller/LED controller switches.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this case is exactly what I was looking for. It was an upgrade of my decade old Thermaltake Xaser case. Airflow and number of fan slots is awesome (especially compared to the 80mm slots of my previous case).
It looks great, has plenty of room for components, and has plenty of room to route cabling behind the side panel. I'm a big fan of the removable, magnetic dust filters on the market... I wish Corsair would have thought to include them for the front intake fans instead of just the bottom. My only other complaint is that the connections for the included LED fans to the LED switch and fan speed switch are proprietary. If I would like to attach additional fans (LED or otherwise), I'll have to get creative with the wiring.

Given that the pros far outweigh the cons, and the price that I paid for it on sale (roughly half of what 'MSRP' is for it), it's a solid 4-star product.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: All the features on this case are very nice. Most often when I build a PC I use just basic ATX cases (office systems). So seeing things like air filters, cable management, a place to mount a liquid cooling, all the drive bays, 4 case fans and many other feature made this a must have case.

Definitely, liked having access to the back of the motherboard after it is installed. I went with liquid cooling (Corsair H100i) and as you have to put part of the bracket on the back I was easily able to do that without having to remove the motherboard from the case.

Cons: With all the cables its a bit difficult to reattach the right side panel. I had to push so hard on the side to hold it in place, while screwing in the thumb screws, that I was worried I might pinch a wire. So even once it was in place I ended up second guessing myself and reopening it.

I am not a fan of having to open both panels to add or remove hard drives. Once the system is built I should not need to access the right side ever, outside of an upgrade.

The upper right screw hole for the power supply (case standing, looking at the back) did not match up, even though I bought the Corsair HX850. Its so bad I had to leave the one screw out. I would think a Corsair power supply would perfectly match a Corsair case.

Other Thoughts: I could make the pros longer that the cons but listing all the case features seems a bit redundant. Over all I am pleased with the case. I had a very nice ATX already, but as I was going to liquid cool the CPU I need a case that supported it and this worked great.

Would note if your computer is in your bedroom, like mine is, that if windows goes into sleep mode, that the power button flashes and it can be very annoying if is visible while in bed.

Also be careful with the LED button as its close to the reset button. The case sits such that I can't quite see the buttons so while feeling for the LED button I hit the wrong one.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case

Pros: One of the best cases I have bought in a while. Lots of features in the case such as being able to remove the hdd cages along with rubber fan holes to help keep vibrations down. Highly recommanded.

Cons: There is a few issues. that I have run into with the case but nothing to take a egg out and it does not effect me much.

It seems that the hdd sliders that hold the hdd in the cage makes a lot of vibration and makes noise. Not sure if it's just me but am sure I can just place a rubber peace in and stop from happening with the release tabs. Easy fix.

With the motherboard being dropped into the case it is impossible to put in the 3.0 usb connector. Corsair makes up for this with a 3.0 to 2.0 connector which in my case works out just fine cause my board has a 2.0 connector that will stay powered on when the pc is off to charge devices.

Other Thoughts: Why are you reading reviews, BUY IT!
