  • newegg Superior Cooling Performance Airflow is a breeze with the Carbide Series. Two front-panel intake fans, one rear exhaust fan, and one 200mm side fan are included, and there are a total of ten mounting points (four 120mm, six 120mm/140mm).
  • newegg Built for Builders High-performance gaming systems need lots of room to work with. With eight expansion slots and up to 452mm in length, and by removing one of the two hard drive cages (316mm if the cage in place), the Carbide 500R has room for triple-GPU installations for high end system set ups.
  • newegg Future-ready Support for USB 3.0 and 2.5" SSDs is built-in. Two USB 3.0 connectors are provided on the front panel and connect directly to motherboards with compatible USB 3.0 headers. Integrated SSD support lets you install 2.5" solid-state drives in any of the hard drive bays, without having to deal with adapters.
  • newegg Multi-channel Fan Controller The multi-channel fan controller allows you to control speed of the fans to regulate the internal temperature and noise level.
  • newegg Easy Access Thumb screws on the side panels, removable hard drive cages, tool-free drive installation and easy-access backplate cutout mean that you’ll spend less quality time with your screwdriver. The integrated dust filters can be quickly removed for easy maintenance.
  • newegg Looking good, Inside and Out. The beauty on the inside goes beyond the black-painted interior. Corsair’s innovative cable management system provides a straightforward way to route cables behind the motherboard, not across it where it can interfere with airflow and give your system a cluttered look. And since looks are an important part of any build, you’ll appreciate the ability to turn the front panel fan white LEDs on or off with the push of a button.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Case.

Pros: Pretty good case, well constructed. Spacious and allows for good cable management. Fit my two closed-loop water coolers with no real headaches.

Cons: The thumbscrews on this thing are not threaded properly or something, they are just a pain. They have phillips heads on them thankfully, so this is a non-issue, just a minor headache.

Also, the mini fan-controller built into the case uses slightly different plugs than normal fans, so you have to use the stock fans on the case, or purchase a fan controller if you are going to have more than your motherboard covers alone.

1 out of 5 eggsInside a Vacumn Cleaner Bag

Pros: Has the four external 5.25" bays that I was looking for.

Cons: -Holes, holes, holes, everywhere. If you want only filtered air entering you computer, stay away from this monster.
-Mounting of rear 120 mm fan on case indented standoffs is totally moronic. Never seen this before. Warm air will just circle from out of rear of case to back in.
-Needs special right angled SATA cables because there is no room for straight out cables between the hard drive and the left case cover. Corsair should have supplied right angled (both ends) SATA cables with this case, or corrected the problem in some other way.
-Bottom filter slides into case indents that have fairly large holes to the outside of the case. How dumb is that? Filter but don't filter.
-Front fans have large holes intentionally put into the fan mounting plate that allows air on the HDD side of the fans to circulate back into the front of the fans thereby not bringing in cool, outside of the case, air. This is further aggravated by a front fan filter that is short on holes and large on air blockage. (Most filters are about 50% holes and 50% blockage, this filter is about 10% holes and 90% blockage. Never seen an air filter so poorly designed as this one.)
-All ten thumbscrew holes are poorly tapped. When screwing in these thumbscrews, including the four used to retain the side covers, it feels like you are cross threading.
-Corsair does not supply a single 3.5" cutout panel for the blank 5.25" front slots. You have got to be kidding. Even the lowest priced cases provide one of these panels. On top of that, their front 5.25" panels are a weird size so it will be hard to find a substitute if you need one of these panels.
-No filter is provided for the side panel 200 mm fan. Talk about your computer becoming a vacuum cleaner bag. Are you kidding?

Other Thoughts: -The reviews on this case have so overrated this case that I am wondering if reading reviews is worth the effort.
- I will NOT be using this case. To me, it is the worse case I have ever encountered. Guess I will have to sell it.

5 out of 5 eggsNext day delivery!

Pros: Sturdy case, plenty of room for extra fans, cable routing to keep things neat, tool less drive bays, can't lose the thumb screws that secure the sides because they stay attached ...

Cons: It wasn't free.

Other Thoughts: I was shocked to receive this the day after I ordered it!

5 out of 5 eggsRoomy, high-quality case

Pros: Solid roomy design for a mid-tower case. It is, in fact, roomier on the inside than my old-school, Chenming "heavy-metal" server case! Four included cooling fans, tool-less drive storage, 3-speed fan controller, LED on/off switch, and more

Cons: It would be nice if the front lower mesh panel itself was removable for easy cleaning of the filter mesh. One currently has to remove the entire front panel to do this, and that requires the removal of both side panels. Another thing I'd like to see is a mesh filter for the side-mounted 200 MM fan

Other Thoughts: The criteria that I use for determining whether a user's product review is relevant to me, is; Is the user completely satisfied with the product? Does it meet his or hers expectations? Is there any buyers remorse? What is the user's experience with the manufacturer's been like?

I can state unequivocally that this case has exceeded my expectations, and that I will certainly consider purchasing more Corsair products in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: Great sturdy case. Everything was easy installed with no problems, although be careful with the LED'S and Power/reset switches. They are very small and you could bend one of the pins during installation.

Cons: the fan controls are kinda cheap along with the fan led button, (you have to shove your fingernail into the button in order to get them to turn on and off).

Kinda wish it had a side window but I cant take an egg off for this because I bought it knowing it didn't have one.

Other Thoughts: great case especially if your looking to add more things in the future. People write stupid one star reviews hating on this case because it doesn't have something they wanted. To those people- I guess you should have taken more care when picking the case right for you, but this case doesn't deserve one star so don't write garbage about it because you were stupid enough to pick it.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Case, Poor Shipping

Pros: i just build my new rig and the case was a dream to work with, everything was so simple and the case had a ton of room, plus it just looks amazing

Cons: when the case arrived i removed it from the box to find a large dent on the back of the solid side panel, i tried to straighten it out with no luck, would get five stars if not for that ugly dent, drives me nuts

Other Thoughts: i love the fans

4 out of 5 eggs500r Black

Pros: -It can fit h100i directly on top.
-Lots of room for additional fans, Great airflow
-Dust filters on the bottom and Front
-Great cable management
-Removable HDD cages

Cons: -Side mesh does not have a filter... The 200mm fan can only blow in, not out
-Top does not have a filter, in case you decide to intake air from the top with the h100i

Other Thoughts: I wish the fans in the front were more customizable Specifically to fit 140mm fans

5 out of 5 eggsIf ur willing to look past the lil thangs...

Pros: 1)The price, though i'll admit u can find a better looking cases for even cheaper, this case is almost unmatched in its price for out of the box performance.
2)The metal isn't sharp.
3)Air flow out of the box is better than I could of imagined the fans are actually pretty good and about lower middle maybe upper middle if your a quite person, of the sound department. infact I plan on keeping the front and side fans because the case has a feature than can turn off the lights without having to do anything weird or on the inside of the case (its on the front).

Cons: 1)the feet come off with pretty much any sliding which is literally impossible to do if you have a computer like mine (or a case like this lol).
2)The case could def look better.
3)the lights are a lot more in the purple spectrum than I woulda liked. I am a lil more color blind than most ppl though so ill say the color of the lights is a very off blue. any video or picture (minus maybe a raw image or something) wont reflect how it will look in person, during the day it looks a lot better too so its really only a problem if ur a night person...
4)the way they saved money was going with a simple design and making everything as good as it needed to be would be the best way to describe it. like with the rubber feet, you don't really need them so their kinda just "tacked on" the quick release setup (for the drives) isn't the best but it works really well or u can take them off super easy if that's more thang. I could go on but I think u get wat I mean.
PS)the top grill of mines latch was broken when I got it but it still worked when I pushed the plastic back in place. the arm or whatever of the catch had one side that was completely bent back on itself like someone had hit it with something like maybe a hammer, I say this because of how perfectly it was creased someone if they pushed woulda had to push pretty hard to do this type of thang with plastic.

Other Thoughts: overall im very happy with the case its basically a good performing decent looking big case that beats out the performance of the good looking cases in its price (range) and is on par with the good performing ugly cases u can get, maybe not if u fully load them up with fans though because this one is slightly more limited than some of the ugly cases. I would say its a lil more performance than looks and that you can tell if you put better fans and stuff this case would be crazy good for air cooling this is the first time I tried to do anything water cooling and it was only an h100i closed loop one, which by the way fits perfectly on the top and with push pull u just gotta take off the grill thang, mine was broken upon arrival didn't want to ship it back because I planned this when I was putting together my list. I bet if u needed or wanted it u could get some of those super thin fans forget wat they're called and put them on and keep the grill.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth Your Money

Pros: Plenty of space for drives, graphic cards, liquid cooling slots built in, more spare screws than you can shake a stick at. My favorite part, aside from the adjustable fan speeds, would have to be the removable air filters and space along the back of the case to hide your cables for those of you who like an organized case.

Cons: None so far
