  • newegg Built for Builders High-performance gaming systems need lots of room to work with. With eight expansion slots and up to 452mm in length, and by removing one of the two hard drive cages (316mm if the cage in place), the Carbide 500R has room for triple-GPU installations for high end system set ups.
  • newegg Future-ready Support for USB 3.0 and 2.5" SSDs is built-in. Two USB 3.0 connectors are provided on the front panel and connect directly to motherboards with compatible USB 3.0 headers. Integrated SSD support lets you install 2.5" solid-state drives in any of the hard drive bays, without having to deal with adapters.
  • newegg Multi-channel Fan Controller The multi-channel fan controller allows you to control speed of the fans to regulate the internal temperature and noise level.
  • newegg Easy Access Thumb screws on the side panels, removable hard drive cages, tool-free drive installation and easy-access backplate cutout mean that you’ll spend less quality time with your screwdriver. The integrated dust filters can be quickly removed for easy maintenance.
  • newegg Looking good, Inside and Out. The beauty on the inside goes beyond the black-painted interior. Corsair’s innovative cable management system provides a straightforward way to route cables behind the motherboard, not across it where it can interfere with airflow and give your system a cluttered look. And since looks are an important part of any build, you’ll appreciate the ability to turn the front panel fan white LEDs on or off with the push of a button.

2 out of 5 eggsWaste of money

Pros: -Lots of room
-Good Cable Management

Cons: -Poor Airflow, many places for air to escape where you don't want it to.
-All Plastic covering (except the mesh)
-Weak fans, no built in fan speed controller
-PSU did not mount properly, problem was with the case and not the Corsair PSU. Basically it did not line up properly with the holes so I only used 3/4 screws to mount it.
-Back plate cover for the Mobo did not mount properly, could not even use it which looks ugly & means even worse airflow.
-Others have complained of it not sitting upright without slight wobble or alignment issues, luckily even though mine showed other defects this was not one of them.

Other Thoughts: You have been warned about this case. Don't take it lightly, this is not a good quality box for the money you are about to spend.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Vid Card I've ever owned

Pros: I've already posted a review for the 1st card I bought. But I will say again that you absolutely cannot find a card with a better price to performance ratio!! I just received my 2nd card in the mail today. The 2 card's in Crossfire are AWESOME!!!!

Cons: NONE!

Other Thoughts: I ended up getting both cards on sale. They're cheap enough without a sale anyway! Buy one....or two!

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Beautiful Case. Everything is placed for easy access and minimal clutter. Cable stash windows help keep the interior organized. The paint is high quality throughout and the case is solid.

Cons: It is quite large but this is not a con just something to be aware of.

Other Thoughts: The entire piece is high quality and I will definitely purchase Corsair products again.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat case, but it almost went boom!

Pros: For starters the case has a ton of room for even the most serious of builds and the removable hard drive cages is certainly a plus for adding more room and air flow. The construction is certainly sturdy and does not feel like anything will bend, or snap anywhere on the case. One 200mm and three 120mm fans come standard equipped on the case, honestly what more could you possibly need? The air flow within the case is great and with tons of extra slots allotted on the case for the real air flow queens out there. Easy to remove hard drive bays make swapping and adding a breeze to the build. On top of that it has tons of room behind the motherboard for all of your cable management needs! Personally I am a fan of the built in thumb screws for the side panels, makes having to worry about losing case screws a non issue! The addition of the painted black interior makes the case truly beautiful! On top of all of this, rubber grommets all over the case if one were to go with a custom water cooled system, and it makes wires being tucked to the side for cable management stay in place nicely.

Cons: Now I do have a few cons regarding the case. First off if that the top bay of the case will not fit a fatter radiator in there. I have a 38mm thick radiator and I can not close the top panel which really stinks! Personally I think Corsair should remove these top radiator slots and just allow for a radiator to be placed into the top of the case with fans attached. The biggest issue I have with the case is the front panel molex cable that gives the two front and one side fan power. I just upgraded to a i7 4770k and after plugging everything in and booting the computer for the first time after the build, that molex cable melted and caught on fire! I have no idea how or why it happened, it had been running perfectly fine until the upgrade. Now this is a MAJOR con seeing as my $1750+ build was almost engulfed in flames if I had not smelled the burning first. I won't deduct more stars for the tiniest chance of it being user error, or a frayed wire, but I always handle any piece of my hardware with the care of a mother holding her child.

Other Thoughts: All in all a great case, but I received the greatest of scares after I saw a fire in my case due to a molex cable.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome case

Pros: Good airflow, great cable management, plenty of HDD/SSD and Optical slots. Light controller on front of case. Easy to take off side panel with attached screws. Plenty of room to add liquid cooling and more fans.

Cons: Positioning of the SSD clamps on the drive slide, so that I could have the angled end of my SATA 6.0 connectors attached to the SSD. This causes a tight fit when putting angled side in motherboard. Works fine, just OCD about it.

Other Thoughts: Good case, maybe a bit overpriced, but you will to be let down.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat upgrade from a cheap case

Pros: Well built, easy to work with case. With stock cpu cooler everything stays cool so far. You can feel the cool air coming out the top, and if you take the top off you can put your hand in and feel how cool it is inside. Love the ability to turn off the fan lights. Very quiet fans, white light looks great, especially in a dark room.

Cons: Fan controller doesn't seem to make a difference. Did not need firewire, MB does not have it anyway. Rather have a esata port or more USB....

Other Thoughts: researched a lot of cases after being disappointed with inexpensive Rosewill blackbone case. Wanted a better quality case that was under a $100. Finally decided between this or a Coolermaster storm enforcer. Went with the 500r because of the special price and more features. Very happy with the high quality of Corsair. Very unhappy with Newegg or Fed Ex because one of them lost the first case I ordered. Had to buy another case after realizing that nobody knew where my case was.(5 days after the rest of my order had been received) Newegg will refund the first purchase, but it will take a while. Newegg did give me the same price on my second order, but very frustrated that a 22 # case could get lost with no idea where it is. Seems to me that it was either stolen or damaged

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The bulge on the side with the giant fan is very nice. Allows for a very easy fit for my heat sink. Good airflow, plenty of room, and drives boxes are removable if not needed which allows for even better airflow.

Cons: The big fan is pretty loud. Gunna replace it one of these days.

4 out of 5 eggsVery roomy case!

Pros: The case came in one piece, one minor issue, see cons. The case itself looks very aesthetic yet simple, I love the LEDs on the fans, although some people complain about it being a little too bright., I think they're fine. Case is very roomy and runs pretty cool, the back panel cable management is a plus that I can't take advantage of because of how short my PSU cables are, but I don't mind.

Cons: The only real con with my particular case is that the 200mm side fan came with burned out LEDs, but that is perfectly fine with me since I know that fan would be very bright.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case

Pros: This is the best case I've ever own. The front doesn't come off but you can place dvd, blu ray, etc just fine. Extra nice fans and lights. USB interface is top, front where most people would use. Very stable sturdy case.

Cons: The screw head is big and nice but the thread are oddly small for holding the side panel, from the back. Its nice that they make it attached to the side panel so we don't lose it but its weird screwing it on. One of the rubber support came off as I slide the case in place. I guess we're not supposed to slide but lift and drop in place? Still a nice case overall.
