  • newegg Superior Cooling Performance Airflow is a breeze with the Carbide Series. Two front-panel intake fans, one rear exhaust fan, and one 200mm side fan are included, and there are a total of ten mounting points (four 120mm, six 120mm/140mm).
  • newegg Built for Builders High-performance gaming systems need lots of room to work with. With eight expansion slots and up to 452mm in length, and by removing one of the two hard drive cages (316mm if the cage in place), the Carbide 500R has room for triple-GPU installations for high end system set ups.
  • newegg Future-ready Support for USB 3.0 and 2.5" SSDs is built-in. Two USB 3.0 connectors are provided on the front panel and connect directly to motherboards with compatible USB 3.0 headers. Integrated SSD support lets you install 2.5" solid-state drives in any of the hard drive bays, without having to deal with adapters.
  • newegg Multi-channel Fan Controller The multi-channel fan controller allows you to control speed of the fans to regulate the internal temperature and noise level.
  • newegg Easy Access Thumb screws on the side panels, removable hard drive cages, tool-free drive installation and easy-access backplate cutout mean that you’ll spend less quality time with your screwdriver. The integrated dust filters can be quickly removed for easy maintenance.
  • newegg Looking good, Inside and Out. The beauty on the inside goes beyond the black-painted interior. Corsair’s innovative cable management system provides a straightforward way to route cables behind the motherboard, not across it where it can interfere with airflow and give your system a cluttered look. And since looks are an important part of any build, you’ll appreciate the ability to turn the front panel fan white LEDs on or off with the push of a button.

5 out of 5 eggsBest case I've ever owned

Pros: Very nice layout, easy install of components, continued ease of access to all components

Cons: Would have liked to see an included fan on top

Other Thoughts: I've owned cases from Antec and Cooler Master and so far this is the best case I've ever had. No sharp edges, very thoughtful layout, excellent wire management through the back of the mobo side and my favorite part is that you can continue to easily access all the various components of your system.

4 out of 5 eggsLong lasting success

Pros: - Fan controller (While not the best, it does its job)
- Sturdy
- Dust filter on front
- Good cable management
- Pre-installed stand-offs
- Easy tool-less hard drive and 5.25" mounts
- Can support 2x 240mm Radiators and a 120mm radiator

Cons: - DOA I/O panel (Replaced swiftly by Corsair support free of charge)
- No top dust filter (I expect more from Corsair)
- Front dust filter doesn't do its job very well

Other Thoughts: If you get this case, do yourself a favor and buy a dust filter for the top. Corsair Support was fantastic in replacing the I/O panel. I highly recommend this case (and company) to anybody.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case

Pros: Good airflow. Love the design. Air filter in the bottom and front. Space for a fan on the bottom. Includes fans (I only added one of my own at the bottom and a RAD at the top). It looks absolutely beautiful. Sleek and sexy.

Cons: Don't go with a 120mm rad. Don't go with a different brand RAD. Buy a corsair 240mm if running a RAD at the top. IF, you are using an MSI Gaming 7 board, and you want to use the usb3.0 on the board, maybe look for other cases. The design pushes against the connector. Not a "it doesn't work con" but a "you may want to look at other cases" con. I don't like when things are pushing or putting pressure on things. They should just fit well, no issues. These cons you notice, aren't really cons ... they are just observations on what equipment may work or work best in this case. I also would have liked to have seen removable dust filters on the top and side of the cases. Probably my only real complaint is that.

Other Thoughts: Beautifully sleek and sexy design. Form and function at it's best. Just do your homework when building a rig around this case. And don't cheap out, go with the 240mm rad for the top and stay with the Corsair family.

I got this because the 600t was sold out everywhere, but I'm almost glad it was because this case is a great case. This is my first Corsair case and they now have a customer for life.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat purchase

Pros: For a mid-tower, it's pretty spacious with a lot of room to grow.
- 6 bay areas
- 4 optical areas
- 4 fans (large 200mm fan)
- Great air support
- Cable hiding support
- Nice front I/O interface for fan control, 3.0 USB, etc.
- Great deal on price compared to some of the other cases in the same price range
- Corsair: 5/5 top notch support

Cons: - Some of the chords for the I/O board are a bit short, making the cable hiding somewhat stretched
- My I/O board connector was DOA, this seems to be a rather common issue. (More below).
- The instruction book that it came with is vague and not very helpful. The screws weren't labeled and as not an expert PC builder, it did go for some confusion.

I/O Board = The I/O board at the top worked for the major functions, just not the fan control. The annoying part is that because it was completely dead, it meant the other fans wouldn't work, unless they were plugged directly into the mobo. To be honest though, the case is so well ventilated that you don't really need the 200mm running unless you are seriously powerhousing. I plugged it straight into the mobo for the time being.

Other Thoughts: It's a great case, even with the DOA I/O board piece, I'd still highly recommend the case for anyone who doesn't want a full-sized sky scraper tower.

Corsair: Top notch support. I was on the phone with them for maybe 5 minutes while we troubleshot the I/O board issue, figuring out if it was the fan or the I/O board. The tech was incredibly pleasant and determined it was the I/O portion. After apologizing for the experience, we submitted a ticket. Literally 3 minutes after submitting the ticket, I got an e-mail saying it was accepted and within 5 minutes I got a shipping notice and a tracking number. They also notified me, there was no need to mail anything back and all I had to do was wait for the product to show up. Great customer service, I think other companies could learn a thing or two from them.

4 out of 5 eggsTwo years review.

Pros: Little maintenance due to lack of dust. Aside from cleaning the radiator, all parts are easily accessible and require the least amount of upkeep, from any cases I've owned. Airflow in my setup is superb albeit not optimal. The 500R looks hideous...in a good way.

Cons: Space can be limited and modding may be necessary to install push/pull fans on the upper vents. The pegs it stands on are too short, preventing much needed airflow to the PSU and GPU.
