5 out of 5 eggsSo Much Better Than I Expected

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Most reviews were good, though some were negative. I got this one vs. the 200R due to a rebate that was available. I'm happy I did. Very easy to put together. Very roomy. Great build quality. For the price, I don't think there is a better case on the market.

Cons: The only issue I had was that the screws and other items were in a small box in one of the drive trays. I had plenty of case/motherboard screws and didn't realize that the case came with them. I wish it was clearer that the case came with these parts.

Other Thoughts: Best case for the money. Would be worth fifty dollars more than what I paid. Highly recommend.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Very sturdy easy holes for wire routing, nice rollers for hdd and ssd drives. All hardware included, nice factory air flow.

Cons: Hard drive tray seems to face the wrong way and makes SATA wiring a little screwed up

2 out of 5 eggsYou don't get what you pay for

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Layout and design are ok.

Cons: I'm normally a fan of Corsair products, the reason for my negative review is mostly value; I've owned $30 cases that were sturdier. Where to start? The description says removable dust filters, the main dust filter is a horror to remove/clean, after you snap off the front cover you find the problem, you have to bend about eight metal tabs that hold on the metal mesh front cover to get to the main dust filter? The plastic HDD/SDD trays are the cheapest I've ever seen and the process to install a hard drive requires you bend the tray to get the screw-less pins into the HD holes. The overall construction of the case feels cheap and they only include one 120mm intake and one 80mm exhaust fan which seems cheap considering the price of the case.

Other Thoughts: If you can buy the case for $40 or less it would be fine, but at a higher price point there are better values for your money.

2 out of 5 eggsShould have gone with the Vengeance

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: The case has a mostly tool less design. The back panel is removable, which allows easy access to cable management. This feature is pretty standard for modern cases. There are plenty of vents which allow adequate airflow. The edges are all rounded over, and there are no sharp points. The inside is painted the same color as the outside, which makes it look sleek.

Cons: The sheet metal used for the case is a very thin gauge. I can easily bend it with my fingers. The grill on the top is a bad design. It offers no protection for a spilled liquid. The hard drive cages are very cheap and thin plastic. The latching mechanism does not offer a lot of protection, and does not isolate the vibrations from the drive very well. I have an optical drive in one of the 5.25" bays and it vibrates the entire case very loudly. These bays do not lock in very well. The cheap plastic locks on them are prone to damage.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this case, and if I had to do it over again, I would go with the Corsair Vengeance series.
The case should be made with a thicker gauge steel. The 5.25" and 3.5" bays should be redesigned with a better system that is more secure. This is actually the second of these I had to purchase. The first one had to be RMA'd because of a severe manufacturing defect which would not allow for the motherboard to be properly installed. I am not quite sure how such an egregious defect got through because it did have the Q.C. mark inside of the case saying it was inspected. I have never had to RMA a case before, so that was a new experience.

3 out of 5 eggsNew build

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Pro case was cost effective has a lot of fan slots good space fit my 980 gtx ti with no issues. Over all decent case

Cons: I bought an msn gamer 7 atx board and the corsair hi100 gtx liquid cooling. The cases mounting brackets and board combo made it to where I had to create new screw holes on the mesh top to secure the liquid cooling radiator. Also while the liquid cooling radiator is in you have have an extremly thin profile fan to get the rear mount fan in. So with this case it is not liquid cool frienldy.

4 out of 5 eggsSo So.

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: 1) good sized mid-tower case.
2) well fitted with other Corsair products--power supplies, liquid coolers, etc.
3) well organized front panel (some people might not like it)
4) many hdd bays as well as optical drives.
5) customizable space for case fans.
6) Easily marked for power, reset switch cables.

Cons: 1. Only 2 case fans are attached. Front, and back.

2. HDD bays are a nightmare. I thought that those bays with trays are so coooool. However, once it fitted, it won't be able to remove those hdd from trays before you eventually break them. To remove trays from hdd bays, need to squeeze the two-end parts of the tray. However, it won't get squeezed once a hdd is on the tray. So now I understand why Corsair sells those trays from their website. Maybe I don't know how to do it, so I tried to find about removing hdd from bays, I couldn't find any information.

3. Side panel is kind of weak. It is not easy to install case fans because screws might ruin the side panel.

Other Thoughts: Well it is definitely not a best idea to purchase this case in the end of 2015.

5 out of 5 eggsLoads of awesomeness

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: This thing is great quality, no joke, it's formidable and sleek etc. But don't let the pic fool you into thinking this is a small Mid Tower Case, it's gigantic! There is a back panel for hiding cables that is removable and plenty of space for all your parts inside. It's sexy too.

Cons: A bit hard to remove the fans in the front, but otherwise nothing to note.

Other Thoughts: Worth all the money

4 out of 5 eggsWorth $50. shipped not $80.!!

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Title says it all. Got this case from NE with a $10. off code and $20. rebate shipped free.
What's to say. Nothing special about this case but very functional.
Screw less snap in 5.25" bays
Screw less removable 3.5" racks with screw holes for 2.5" drives
Cut out for installing CPU cooler.
Cable cutouts
Top front 2-USB 3.0, audio connectors, power and reset buttons
Can install up to 7 120/140mm case fans,
Comes with 120mm back exhaust and 140mm front intake 3 pin MB connector fans.
Thumb screw attached side panels and expansion card back plates.
PS and front fan filters
Adequate supply of screws and some zip ties
Wide enough for a CM Hyper 212 EVO
Black painted interior
Rubber bottom feet

Cons: This is a mid price case so Corsair cut some corners.
No rubber grommets on the cable routing holes. If you want them get the Corsair 350D Grommet Kit
The manual only states the case features. Useless for first time builders.
I had to cut the zip tie on the audio cable to get to reach my MB pins, needs to be longer.
No fan filters for the top or side fans. I purchased a Silverstone Tek 140mm x 2 Fan Filter with Magnet, Black (FF142B) for the top grill. Fits perfectly.
The whole front panel has to be removed to clean the front filter. Grab it from the bottom and pull outward. I would not bend back the metal tabs to remove the filter. The tabs are part of the front metal grill.
The power led is a bit bright. No big deal for me since my case sits low.
Top fan grill is a bit flimsy. I would not store anything on it.

5 out of 5 eggsgood for the money

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: good space. can fit most parts.

Cons: like others have stated.... if using 140mm fans on top.... the optical drive might have to be moved down a slot.... 120mm fans work fine though.
larger gpu's like a 980ti can block one of the side fan mounts with its power cables. the other one is fine though.

one of the front panel usb ports was defective. im not removing an egg though because corsair has a really convient process where you file a request and they send the part to replace it. so instead of taking it all apart and replacing the case... i just swapped front panels. they also didnt request that i send the old panel back. the new part arrived in one day after requesting it. really fast.

my biggest creivience with the case is the type of screw and washer that they used to secure the front panel . really inconvient to take them out and harder to put back and screw in correctly.
