4 out of 5 eggsUSB 3.0 Problems

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Windowed Black ATX Mid Tower Case

Pros: - The Case is a good upgrade for any ATX or Micro ATX Mother board that needs more room, this case has plenty of it
- The Case has good air flow, has 2 large fans already installed not to sure the actual dimensions but they are bigger than 120mm, other than the fan the case it vary open with mostly being large mash patterns to create holes for air flow.
- the price was fair until you see on of the cons about the USB 3.0 in the front panel I/O.

Cons: When i received this case i liked it very much, started hooking up my mother board and my new cooler master hyper evo heat sink, got everything hooked up all cables attached to their appropriate headers, and everything looked good, turned on my computer, the USB 3.0 port on the front panel I/O was not working, instead o port was just making my turtle beach receiver flicker, the other was not working at all, i contacted corsair they replaced the part for free pretty fast, i just got it today and hooked it up only to find the same problem, i know it is not my USB 3.0 Header as i have tested it with a different cable and it worked, the is defective, and the sent me another defective part.

Other Thoughts: While the case is good, i would recommend buying a separate USB 3.0 Cable, and just replace the part your self because you are only going to receive the same defective part you had in the first place from corsair and waste your time installing, that said the case is not bad and neither is corsair e.g. ( i have a corsair power supply and ram with no problems ), i just wish that they would properly check the parts that they are giving to their customers so that situations like these don't happen, so all in all the case is good, front panel USB 3.0 ports are bad.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat, sleek design, however...

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Windowed Black ATX Mid Tower Case

Pros: -Very nice cable management.
-Roomy without being obtrusively large on your desk. Really the perfect size.
-Very classy design (doesn't scream at you, but definitely has an edge to it if you add the right components)
-Easy access to the insides. The side panel comes off and back on quickly and easily.
-Large window for viewing all of you expensive components and tricked out LED's. However......

Cons: Why, oh why does corsair not offer a window on this computer without the holes for the fans??? I knew what I was buying, but over time this has annoyed me to no end. There are entire threads online on how to diy yourself a new window, because most people do not want the holes. Corsair, could you please offer a window without the holes on your website? I will gladly pay for it, as will many others.

Other Thoughts: Besides my obvious gripe, I love this case! I would definitely recommend it, but not if you want a nice view into your computer, because that it will not do. Would I buy it again? No, I would not. But that is my personal preference. I would opt for something that has a clear view into the insides. Everything else about the case is fantastic though, it is a great design.

5 out of 5 eggsCarbide 300R

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Windowed Black ATX Mid Tower Case

Pros: roomier than expected for a mid-tower
WELL laid out
the hard drive trays all have screw holes for SSD's
solid construction
cutout in drive cages for bigger video cards
lots of space for fans or liquid cooling systems(though a custom loop might be tough to squeeze in)
corsair provided WAY more stuff than needed, extra screws and zip ties etc which they didnt have to do
for a "budget" case this thing is unbelievably sweet

Cons: standard hard drives dont fit perfectly in drive bays, the trays get..."stuck" for lack of a better word but it was do-able

Other Thoughts: truly this thing is amazing, im not used to mid-tower chassis's anymore so that takes some getting used to but thats not corsair's fault
i have not used a corsair case before but i will be back next time i need a case

4 out of 5 eggsSolid case after 2 years

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Windowed Black ATX Mid Tower Case

Pros: The airflow in this case is amazing. You can mount 5 120-140 fans and 2 140 fans for intake at the front. There is a separate intake for the power supply with its own filter which is great where I am is really dusty. Being able to remove and use the left side to hide cables makes cable management very easy.

Cons: I mounted a water cooler with dual fans to my CPU and case and because of the size the water cooler presses against the motherboard and made it very difficult to mount my Ram to my board. This is where I subtracted the 1 egg.

Mounting the side of the case is often a choir as you will have trouble aligning up the top and bottom so they fit clean.

Other Thoughts: Clean the filters often as this can easily mess up your cooling.

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME CASE

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Windowed Black ATX Mid Tower Case

Pros: Durability is great, Ive used mine for 3 years, including traveling with the case in my car trunk. The rear panel has about an inch of space for cable management. Its a beautiful case, lots of room for fans as well. The HDD bays slide out and are easy to mount, same with the Disk drive if you choose to use one.

Cons: The doors are a bit tricky to remove and put back on. Every once in awhile you'll miss a clip and it will bend outward. Not too much of a problem if you dont open your case frequently.

Other Thoughts: Definitely buy this case.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Case

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Windowed Black ATX Mid Tower Case

Pros: -perfect size, not too big, holds everything I wanted in it.
-sturdy and reliable, several ports ready for use
-easy to keep clean, I don't worry about fingerprints all that much to start with.

Cons: -No problems as of yet, does what it is supposed to do
-just enough space makes it tough to manage cables inside sometimes, esp with my additional components. I couldn't put all the fans on the case, either.

Other Thoughts: I liked this case, it was for my first custom-build PC and there was a good deal on it.

4 out of 5 eggsThree 300R builds later...

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Windowed Black ATX Mid Tower Case

Pros: -Quality Construction and Finishing
-All Tool-less
-Attractive and sturdy feeling clear side panel
-Actually "mid" sized mid tower (some mid towers like the 500R are more like a full)
-Feels great to build in (hard to explain this one)

Cons: -Not a huge amount of room for cable management; the reverse side panel could benefit from a bulge-out but doesn't have one.

-Not all power supplies will fit the height of the bracket at the top, meant to hold the power supply in place. You may have to bend it. Of course none of the Corsair PSU's I have used in this case have given me that problem.

Other Thoughts: I've done 3 builds in this case now for other people and it's been a treat. I recommend it to everyone looking for a midsize, especially first timers. I consider a steal for 89.99. Don't count on that mail-in rebate though. I've never successfully gotten one from any company.

I must disclose I've never put a CPU under water in this case so I can't speak for it's cooling support.
I subtracted one egg because the reverse side is pretty snug if you've got a lot of extra cable length to tame.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat quality, great case

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Windowed Black ATX Mid Tower Case

Pros: I considered buying a less expensive case but am glad I spent a little more for this Corsair. My build included two Titan cards, so I wanted a windowed case with side fan mounts for the graphic cards. The case is sturdy and spacious. It has an understated design, which I prefer over the typically overdone, gaudy gamer cases. I added 5 fans two the two included, and my dual Titan cards are well ventilated and cool. Some reviewers have complained about tight cable management and lack of grommets. It did take me a little while to get my cables arranged, but the final layout looks nice and doesn't hinder the airflow. The lack of grommets doesn't bother me at all. Other pluses are the two front USB 3 ports and tool-free bays -both of which I feel are requirements for cases today.

Cons: Tool-free bays are great, but adding an SSD drive requires an SSD mounting bracket. I had an extra one on hand, so it didn't impact my build. Otherwise I might have knocked off an egg.

Other Thoughts: This case had everything I was looking for. Well worth the price.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good case

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Windowed Black ATX Mid Tower Case

Pros: Got this from my local pc shop for 70$ because I didn't want to risk anything breaking in shipping. There's plenty of room for most parts you would put in here, fits a hyper cooler 212 but don't expect to mount any fans against the window with that heat sink. Filtered front and bottom intakes are nice and the front bays are easy to install stuff in. The cable management is pretty good, but it gets tight if you have lots of wires running behind there.

Cons: The hard drive bays feel flimsy and I thought I was going to have to break them just to get my 1tb wd drive in. Hard drive activity led on the front is dead or missing, but my motherboard (msi z97 gaming 7) has one so that doesn't really matter. No rubber grommets for hiding wires and there are awkward open spaces that show wires. The audio wire was just long enough to get to the motherboard, but it is pulled taught.

Other Thoughts: Overall, it is a good case for the money you pay. There are some cons but most of them are minor or just don't matter much to me, but hey 70 dollars for a windowed corsair case is pretty good.
