1 out of 5 eggspoor quality

Pros: super spacious

Cons: poorly manufactured. the back panel door uses snap in pins that ripped of the metal bar of the rear panel door and bent an internal bar holding the snap in receptacles.
bottom door hinges are flimsy and bend too easily.... after opening and closing the bottom doors, the magnets no longer hold them very well.
finally, the power button does not work at all. great...

Other Thoughts: Manufacturer,
why do you skimp on quality manufacturing? now I will stay away from all corsair product going forward since it's apparent to me that you are cutting corners to cut costs and as a result product quality is suffering. disappointing.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat a great case

Pros: This case is just fantastic. Plenty of room, an inch of space behind the motherboard tray. The case itself is very sleek and professional. There is so much room to literally do whatever you want, whether it be stack up fans, mount radiators, or install a kitchen sink.

The hard drive bays are all removable and switchable. One thing I like is the stock fans that come i the front of the case are GREAT. They push a lot of air given the small amount of area they have to pull it from.

This is THE ultimate case for any enthusiast or power user.

Cons: The hard drive holders are pretty flimsy, but they work. I guess it costs a lot, but you get what you pay for.

1 out of 5 eggsFLIMSY. Poor packaging

Pros: Im sure its a great case, but after I discovered all the broken and damaged parts I put it back in its box since i know i wont be able to build my system until this is replaced.

Cons: As soon as I opened up the box I noticed things weren't right. The front cover you snap off to gain access to the 3 120mm fans in front was off and tilted up against the inside of the box and the plastic fan cover was pushed in past the point of design, I noticed one of the 4 pegs was broken off on the metal front cover so the bottom corner could be pushed in since it isnt supported by the peg.

All the drive trays have the flimsiest plastic rods known to man holding the front cover on. Of course they were ALL broken or missing as soon as i opened it up.

The metal bar separating the "basement" from the main cavity where the motherboard goes had been twisted or damaged (from shipping?) to the point of visible fatigue on the metal where it connects to the back of the frame.

The basement door on the side with the clear window was already broken off. Two tabs on the bottom connect to two pegs allowing it to swivel open. Both tabs are bent inwards so they dont even line up with the pegs. Could bend them back but the damage has been done. metal gets weaker when its bent so bending them back introduces more metal fatigue and shortens its life.

Other Thoughts: The packaging is horrible. The case is full of flimsy plastic parts, Im sure almost all of this could have been prevented had it been packaged better. Now Ill have to wait who knows how long to put my x99 system together. Ive waited a year to put this together, apparently my wait isnt over.

Im a big fan of corsair, Ive bought 12 of their fans, a Dominator platinum DDR4 kit, the Commander Mini, several corsair SSDs and the 900D was by far the biggest let down. I cant even start the build yet.

Ive had my 800D for several years now and it hasnt failed me once. Somewhere along the line cuts were made, sacrifices were put in place. I cannot believe the packaging is so poor knowing the nature of the frail pieces they put in this case and the way packages are handled by shipping companies.

Manufacturer Response:

Almost perfect.

Cons: The hard drive carriers are terrible.

5 out of 5 eggsBeastly watercooling case

Pros: Tons of room
Looks sharp and powerful
Lots of places to mount radiators
Great price compared to other options

Cons: Looks funny if you put anything in the 5.25" drive bays

Other Thoughts: I crammed two 480mm and one 240mm radiators in, all 60mm thick, in push. This case exceeded my expectations. Its the sharpest looking case I have seen.

2 out of 5 eggsSpacious... but that's about it.

Pros: - Lots of room
- Enough room to fit a small child
- You can fit all your gear in there, including desk and chair.
- Looks pretty good.
- Modular construction and Corsair sells replacement parts through their store. Super nice.

Cons: - Did someone actually use this case at Corsair?
- PCI SCREWS ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO... SCREW!
- Way too heavy
- It's large, nay, HUGE!
- So many holes you can hear anything inside like it's outside.
- Vents in the rear don't have any sort of filter.
- Installing anything on the 5.25'' bays looks super weird and breaks the neat looks..

Other Thoughts: The cons HIGHLY outweight the pros, in my humble opinion. Replacing any PCI devices is borderline impossible. You can't get access to the screws that hold the PCI cards to the back panel because the rear/right pillar is the way. You'll bleed and hurt to do anything around that area.

I had a Fractal Define XL R2 before this one and all I can say is that the Fractal felt a lot more thoughtful in the way that it was designed, and overall felt waaaayyy higher quality. The padding and construction quality were simply higher. Lots of plastic in this 900D.

Needless to say, I regret this purchase greatly. I paid about $300 and had paid $120 for the Fractal. The Fractal was less than 1/2 the price, 2/3 of the size, and 5/3 of the build quality. The problem is I can't really get rid of a case like this easily. Shipping charges make resale borderline impossible. Too bad... I'll stick with it but feel bad every time I have to actually open it and do anything in it.

You've been warned. If you NEED the size (and I bet most, if not all, don't) then go ahead (though you'd be better served with some other alternatives). For everybody else (99.999% of you), look elsewhere.

PS: I might do a video review sometime... -.-

2 out of 5 eggsNOT WORTH THE PRICE

Pros: A lot of room for sure and looks good too. Layout and design are commendable as well. Good marketing and hype on the part of Corsair; got to give them props for that. Does sarcasm belong in the Pros section? Seriously this case looks great, lights up well and shows off your innards very nicely.

Cons: Flimsy parts and pieces everywhere. One of the plastic clips that is containing the wiring on the back broke as soon as I removed it; brittle describes it best. Be careful when opening the hard drive trays as the pins that are being used as hinge replacements will fall out almost every time. One of the 120mm fans that came with case only spins around 600 rpm on a good day. You can literally see that it is spinning slower than the rest. The bottom doors along the length of the case are always falling open.

Other Thoughts: Not up to the marketing and hype. I purchased some Noctua fans to replace the stock fans; these are four pin PWM units. They may be brown but I can rely on their cooling my innards. I guess I will be changing my color scheme.

3 out of 5 eggsSaved By The Cave

Pros: Cavernous interior--very good interior layout overall

Cons: Drive bays belong in a $50 case, not a $300+ case, flimsy construction--top panel mounting design is a disaster--top panel seemed to be welded to the frame--finally popped free after MULTIPLE days of pushing here, pulling there and damage to case paint--overall quality control suspect--top of frame bowed contributing to top panel removal troubles--documentation terrible!!

Other Thoughts: Cavernous interior saves this case--expected more from a firm like Corsair--would have returned but too much time invested in populating this case.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: - Biiiiiiiiig. This case is larger than your standard full tower by quite a bit.
- Lots of mounting options for radiators.
- Light construction makes the case surprisingly light.

Cons: - Expensive.
- As others have mentioned, this case has relatively poor airflow. You need more than just the 4 fans that come with the case.
- The case is so large that it is difficult for all of your cables to reach their intended locations. Consider buying extension cables for your PSU and fans.
- Light construction makes some of the parts seem flimsy and won't take a lot of weight. Be careful what you lean on when installing parts. The motherboard tray would flex a bit when I was installing my RAM.

Other Thoughts: Though I am completely satisfied with this case, it is NOT for your average user, or even your average enthusiast. Don't buy this case if you are looking for bang for buck. Buy this case if you are looking to dump an obscene amount of money into an overcomplicated water cooling setup.
