5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011030-WW) Black Steel / Plastic ATX High Airflow Cube Case

Pros: Very roomy case with lots of airflow, Cable management is a breeze. Includes three decent fans. Mounting a closed loop cooler was about as easy as it gets (which means still a pain to do, but at least there was no drive cage getting in my way).

Cons: The fans included aren't the quietest out there, or even the quietest Corsair makes. They do the job, but the rattle may get to me enough to eventually replace them with some Noctuas or PWM Corsairs.

Other Thoughts: Be aware that this case is LARGE, and WIDE. Make sure you check the dimensions and have enough space where you plan to put it.

4 out of 5 eggsMust have!

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011030-WW) Black Steel / Plastic ATX High Airflow Cube Case

Pros: This case was awesome to work with. The features it offers are not only far superior to competitors cases, they are also extremely easy to work with. I've been building computers for 9 years now and have probably completed upwards of 20 builds. With that said, I have not used the same case twice.

THE AIRFLOW AND FANS:
To get this review started I want to say that the airflow is great, if not fantastic. The stock fans are some of the better fans I've experienced. They are quiet, and push a large amount of air. The case does not have a built in fan controller, this is okay, the other Corsair cases I've worked with that do have fan controllers built in are very cheap and do not provide any advantages over the motherboards controller.

THE WORKING SPACE:
The case is split into two different compartments. The first chamber is where the motherboard and everything is mounted. The front chamber is large enough for a full sized graphic card (I was able to fit Crossfired 270x's). The front chamber has a hard drive mounting system that is genius! You push the hard drive against built in connectors that have cable leads to the rear chamber for connection. This gets rid of all HDD cables. The brackets that hold the HDD are brittle and pushing too hard on them will break them. The window is nice on the side, it's not cheap, but it will scratch if you do not take care of it. You have rubber garments that allow for cable management, these garments do not move easily and can take a large amount of pressure and do not pop out, this is a huge plus, I've had issues with other cases where they just pop out with even the slightest amount of pressure. Plugging in the power cable to the processor was extremely easy to plug in, one of the easier times I've had plugging in that dang cable.

The rear chamber is where the power supply sits. The rear panel has vent holes cut into it that allow the PSU's fan an exhaust vent, this reduces noise. The rear chamber is very large and is very easy to work with. Cable management is possible to the max, you won't have a bulging back panel. In the rear you also have a SSD mounting rack, it's easy to take out. In the rear, another bracket is present, it is located in the top left hand corner, I believe it is for HDDs, I did not use it. Something that does lack with this rear chamber is zip tie mounting holes, there are only 5.

THE EXTERIOR:
The case has a fan guard located on top, it is removed with two thumb screws, this guard has to be removed to access the dust filter located on the front of the case. The dust filter is held in by magnets (which is fantastic, I love this), the filter is quality and well made. The bays on the front of the case that are used for disk readers are sideways, you'd have to place your disks in sideways. I don't use disk readers, so this part I cannot speak about in detail. The USB 3.0 ports are easy to plug into the motherboard and are plug and play. The headset and mic ports are useless, us

Cons: Read review

Other Thoughts: EXTRA DETAIL:
The case is large, if you are looking for something small, this is not the solution. It's more wide then it is high. To get an idea of its size, take a full tower and chop it in half height wise, then take the two pieces and place them side to side. The screws that come with the case that are used with the standoffs are VERY nice. I know it sounds silly, but, they fit like a glove, they were simply the best fit screws I've ever worked with. It just felt amazing to screw them in. There was no pressure involved, they just fit in. I loved it!

TL;DR: This case was extremely easy to work with, very professional appearance and would recommend for someone looking for professional and wow like features.

5 out of 5 eggsSuper Awesome Case

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011030-WW) Black Steel / Plastic ATX High Airflow Cube Case

Pros: This case is excellently designed. It is super roomy with plenty of space for my needs. I can reach in and fiddle around without feeling like I need miniature hands. It has a sturdy look, but is still stylish and every part feels strong and stable. The dual chamber design helps keep things organized and makes it easy to make changes. With the heat producing side being as open and ventilated as it is I'm confident I won't be worrying about overheating.

Simply put, this case is very much worth it!

Cons: I've not come across any.

Other Thoughts: Being the first case I've bought for a custom built computer, I was concerned I didn't know what I was getting into. After setting it up this case leaves me confident it'll last me for many, many years.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Case but not for power users.

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011030-WW) Black Steel / Plastic ATX High Airflow Cube Case

Pros: Elegant design, despite the small size I was able to fit 2 780ti's a 240mm water cooler, 2 custom ram-fans and a ton of SSD drives. all with room to spare

Cons: not for people who want a lot of storage, while having the SSD cage is nice, there is no option to add additional 3.5" HDD's outside of the 2 hot swap slots they provide, for my system I need 4 HDD's so I am forced to buy adapters for the 2 5.25" bays in order to fit them despite having a ton of empty space.

Other Thoughts: it would be nice to have the ability to mount more than 2 standard hard drives since SSD's are both costly and relitivly light in the storage department.

5 out of 5 eggsCable Management Dream Come True!

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011030-WW) Black Steel / Plastic ATX High Airflow Cube Case

Pros: Without a doubt one of the best cases for cable management and air flow. Huge two chamber design gives a ton of space to hide addition molex cables, sata cables, and every other power or connection cable you can think of. The grill design is great for air flow, the two front fans pull in a ton of cold air, I added to 140mm fans to the top and those combined with the H60 Liquid Cooler have given me the best temp's I've every seen outside of some hardcore liquid cooled cases.

Cons: Only two bays for standard hard drives...but four bays for ssds...I'm not quite ready to make the jump to all ssds (I have two ssds and two hhds installed) but if you are then it shouldn't be a problem. The optical caddy is in the way of 2 wall gromets. I removed the caddy since I'm not using any optical drives.

Other Thoughts: I've seen a 2 reviews saying that during a build they snapped one hard drive caddy and in the other they snapped a ssd caddy. I honestly can not figure out how they managed that. I removed both caddys several times with no issue. Both slide in and out without any difficulty.

5 out of 5 eggsEpic Case

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011030-WW) Black Steel / Plastic ATX High Airflow Cube Case

Pros: An exceptional case - you get full tower space for a mid tower foot print. Crazy easy to build with with some of the best thermal properties I've ever come across. Other than the very few cons (see below) it's probably the best on the market right now.

Cons: there are a few cons to list with this case...
- It's made from very thin metal.
- 1 fan filter isn't really doing it. 2 would be better 3 would be ideal.
- I'd love to see more room between the grille mesh and the case for lighting and other superfluous things..

Other Thoughts: You really can't go wrong with this case. Again, it's got the best geometry of any case on the market right now.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this case!

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011030-WW) Black Steel / Plastic ATX High Airflow Cube Case

Pros: Great looking case. Not bigger than what I expected, but actually smaller. Not sure why these reviews are saying this thing is bigger than what they expected, watch the review video on newegg and you can pretty well size it up. Didn't have any issues with the hot swap bay brackets, they are plastic and feel flimsy/cheap, but as long as you use TLC, you won't break them. Just be very careful. Tons of places to hide cables, and it's all black which is perfect.

Cons: None. Love this case.

Other Thoughts: 10/10 would buy again

2 out of 5 eggsSo much lost

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011030-WW) Black Steel / Plastic ATX High Airflow Cube Case

Pros: Nice to see some cube form factor cases and alternate spacial arrangements.

Cons: This could have been a great server for those with lots of HDDs or wanting to setup some kind of NAS. Widen the drive side layout to accept 8-10 3.5" disks (6 at least putting 3+3 vertical) and really just one 5.25 optical drive. It's just very disappointing to see the wasted space on the other side.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case.

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011030-WW) Black Steel / Plastic ATX High Airflow Cube Case

Pros: - Well Built.
- Lots of room.
- Great airflow.
- Good Cable Management.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is a five egg case all day long. Measured it and looked at the options BEFORE I purchased it. I would purchase another one in a heart beat.

There are no side fan mounting options, but with dual(140mm)/triple(120mm) front fans you can keep extra flow on your GPU if needed.

Its a great case, fits my NH-D14 and GTX680 very well.

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair Carbide Series Air 540

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011030-WW) Black Steel / Plastic ATX High Airflow Cube Case

Pros: Looks awesome!

Cons: Not the ideal case if you want to use the new ROG front base unit coming out.

Other Thoughts: I have two of these cases and they look awesome. I might still add the Asus Front Base unit and lay the case on its side where your looking down into the window.
