4 out of 5 eggsGood case

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011030-WW) Black Steel / Plastic ATX Cube High Airflow Cube Case

Pros: Very large case, plenty of places to hide wires. Easy to build in and holds H100i in the top with push/pull and has room to spare.

Cons: When I opened the box there was a small piece of plastic floating around in the case. It looked like a tab off of something, never could find where it broke off of though. A few days into owning it I removed the 2.5 mount to install another ssd and the locking tab snapped off. It didn't really affect how it mounts just no longer locks.

5 out of 5 eggsSuperb

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011030-WW) Black Steel / Plastic ATX Cube High Airflow Cube Case

Pros: Best cable management ever.
Loads of room for airflow and GPU's.
Decent build quality.
Looks absolutely ridiculous with my mATX motherboard in it.

Cons: Drive system could have been better.
Needs fans at the bottom, not HDD's
Needs better filters.
Difficult to get an H110 in push/pull up top.
Looks absolutely ridiculous with my mATX motherboard in it.

Other Thoughts: Great case. Had it for over a year and still love it. My system always runs cool. Although The dust filters are not that great, have to (or need to) dust often.

The drive mounting options could use some work. Not sure why they thought someone would want to hot swap an HDD by removing the side panel window (who hot swaps HDD's anyways?). That space should be dedicated to more fans with air filters of their own.

Good luck getting a Corsair H110 AIO cooler to run in push/pull in the top. I had to put the pull fans on the outside of the case because of motherboard height.

I would like to see Corsair do a revised edition of this case, as it has so very much potential.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Case

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011030-WW) Black Steel / Plastic ATX Cube High Airflow Cube Case

Pros: Very organized and spacious for great air flow. Plenty of expansion room. Corsair is simply my favorite hardware manufacturer. Great products with great performance. Your SSD's, Power Supply, and DVD Drives are on their own side so they don't interfere in the air space of your motherboard, video card, processor, and RAM. Cable management is very good.

Love the clear plastic cover so I can view my beautiful components as they run!

Cons: Only con is reaching a bit... Only has 2 bays for your Blue Ray/DVD Internal Drives. But who needs more than two?

Other Thoughts: Love it! Like any chassis, there are different sizes and styles and all of them have their pros and cons depending on your needs. This is in the midsize range, as a full size chassis is larger than I really want.

5 out of 5 eggsIts Big

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011030-WW) Black Steel / Plastic ATX Cube High Airflow Cube Case

Pros: -Large
-Easy to work in
-Comes with some nice Corsair fans (1x AF140, 2x AF120's)
-Hotswap 3.5" or 2.5" bays on the bottom of the windowed side
-A lots of grommet holes for cable management
-High air flow
-Huge window looking into system
-The power supply intake is pointed out of the right side of the tower, meaning you can put this on the ground without worry of suffocating you PSU
-Good water cooling support

Cons: It is big... so if you are looking for a small case then look at the measurements for this case, not taking off an egg because I love it and its described in the bottom portion of the specs page.

The Corsair badge on the front of the case cannot be re-orientated. For example if you wanted to place this case on its right side to have a cube case with a horizontal mobo. You have to remove the badge from the double sided take and reapply the tape yourself versus it being magnetic or on some sort of spring thingy system.

Also I think addition feet for the right side of the case just in case you wanted to set up the horizontal example from above. Currently you have to DIY it or possible scratch the very nice finish.

Other Thoughts: It is large (at least to what I had expected) and that is great! Beyond that it is a dream to work in, looks very good, and after the build is complete it makes your system look great. A lot of cable management options in the back end (right side).

All is great with this case. Some downers though, the badge on the front can NOT be re-orientated. So if you set it on its side, the badge will throw a few things out of whack. Also I would love to see included feet to put on the right side so I don't have to DIY it and destroy the beautiful finish of the paint. Great case.

The only thing about my finished build that I have an issue with isn't even the case, just my video card, which does NOT have a back plate, is drooping. It would be nice to see Corsair sell video card support beams or something to help people like me out.

5 out of 5 eggsNot as big as people think

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011030-WW) Black Steel / Plastic ATX Cube High Airflow Cube Case

Pros: The case is spectacular. Just the lay out of the case and the cable management is just awesome. I never liked the cube cases but this one got my attention. I had a coolermaster 690 II advanced before and loved the hot plug bay on top and this didn't have it so I was a little bummed but when I found out that the side cover does not lock in place like the others cases I have had where you have to slide it back a half inch and then pull out, this one locks in the front only so the hot swap bays inside are easy to get to. Also its for high airflow but can do liquid cooling just as good and there is plenty of room in the second chamber for a res and pump. I also paint my cases and this was the easiest case to disassemble no masking needed a few screws and off comes the covers. well though out case.......cleaning is a breeze with the front and top rack that comes off and assembly is even easier with the room you have. the size well it looks huge but its not its only 3 inches wider then my coolermaster 3 inches shorter and 4 inches less in length.

Cons: not a con but I would like the front and top crills to be a bit more sturdy, but they don't come off often so. and if you have a power supply with a lot of wires that don't come off non modular then you need to learn the art of cram and your good

Other Thoughts: Asus Crosshair V Formula Z AMD 8350 8 core Corsair H100 liquid cooler, Corsair vengeance 16 Gb DDR3 @1866 Corsair force 120 Gb ssd X2 1Tb seagate spinners x2 Nvidia GTx550Ti 1Gb x2 running SLI Corsair 750 watt PSU

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair Carbide Series Air 540

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011030-WW) Black Steel / Plastic ATX Cube High Airflow Cube Case

Pros: This case is awesome. Keeps everything cool and the side panel allows you to show off the internal components of your machine.

Cons: not really a con but the hot swaps could have been raised off the bottom of this case a bit, or oriented differently.

Other Thoughts: Deffinatly worth the purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Case

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011030-WW) Black Steel / Plastic ATX Cube High Airflow Cube Case

Pros: - Looks great, and feels like solid construction.
- Plenty of room for almost everything (Ill get to that*).
- Aside from the side panels, the top panel removes, allowing you to get your hands in to those trickier places.
- Front fan dust filter. I've never had a case with a dust filter before, so I am excited for that alone.
- TONS of room for power cables. Having the PSU in the back compartment means I was FINALLY able to get good looking cable management for once. If I had a modular PSU, I could do better, but as is, I was able to hide all unused cables very easily.
- Includes 2.5' drive rack standard. My normal 2.5' to 3.5' drive adapters wouldn't align my SSD correctly with the included sata ports on the 3.5' drive mount, so this feature alone saved me from having to buy some special adapter for one, let alone my 3 SSDs. So major kudos on that.
- Side panel with windows and NO fan blocking the view into the case.
- Almost everything, just shy of the motherboard itself, has easy to grip finger screws. Im talking the side panels, the vent covers, the adjustable part of the PSU mount, and even the expansion card slots.
- No screws necessary for the 5.25" bays.**

Cons: - *One tiny issue I had with the case. It has 2x3.5" bays on the bottom with sata connections already in place. This itself is fantastic, but the bay on the left side (Looking in) has some issue with the cables and the adjustable PSU mount getting in the way. You can just bend the cables, but it feels like I am bending them TOO much to make them fit around the PSU mount.
- The front fans include a dust filter, but the top does not. It would have been nice to have included a filter there as well given it is basically direct access for dust to fall into the case.
- **The 5.25" drive bays require you to orient the drives a specific way. (Tray opens, you put the disc in on the left side, when looking at the front of the case). This isn't really an issue, but I was trying to put my DVD drive on the other way and was wondering why it wouldn't click in till I really looked at how the snap pegs worked. And because they were metal, they scratched up the sides of my DVD drive. Minor issue as that will never be seen from the outside.
- I'm throwing this in the cons, but it doesn't really detract from the case at all. But given the case and all of its insides are black, the inclusion of some LED fans would have been nice to illuminate things. The case is great for for the cable management impaired like myself, so being able to show that off would have been nice. But nothing a few extra bucks cant resolve. So again, not really a ding on the overall case, just wanted to point that out.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I couldn't be more happy with the case. I would defiantly consider getting another If I needed another case. It looks like they could nicely stack on top of one another.

And for anyone looking, I just want to point out that YES, this is a wide case. So measure twice before getting it.

One final note: Double check who is selling the case. I know Newegg doesn't do a good job of pointing out when they are not the actual seller, but I strongly suggest NOT buying from " antonline.com". I paid about $20 more than I should have because it was sold through them, and from what I gathered after looking into it, they tend to overcharge on a lot of things.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case, plenty of room, nice almost square design

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011030-WW) Black Steel / Plastic ATX Cube High Airflow Cube Case

Pros: great design
plenty of room
great airflow
cable management
separate compartment

Cons: see through side panel.

Other Thoughts: don't take my con as a turn off, there is nothing wrong with the side panel itself, but it would be nice to have an option of a solid side panel. I'd still recommend this case to others, I just have mine facing the left leg of my desk which is longer that the case.

This case is great, its almost a square design rather than the normal tower type design. this design looks better and serves a purpose. the interior is split into two compartments.

The motherboard side is about 60%, and has a few access ports that go to the PSU side of the case for nice cable management.
There's also plenty of room on this side. I'm using the Noctua NH-D14 cpu heatsink/cooler and the depth still has about an inch of clearance before it would touch the see through panel side of the case. It has space for two HDD on the bottom of this side which plug into built in sata connector that has its wires on the PSU side of the case.

The psu side is about 40% of the total width of the case which is a great idea. The PSU side holds the power supply, and has a small rack to hold 4 to 5 SDD drives above the PSU. this side also has the 5.5" front panel bays going into it, and plenty of room for all the excess wiring.

there's plenty airflow, the whole motherboard side of the case is vented as you can see in the product pictures. the case fans are quiet, and there is room on the top interior to add a watercooling radiator or a couple more case fans.

I'm happy with this case and would recommend it to others.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this case

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011030-WW) Black Steel / Plastic ATX Cube High Airflow Cube Case

Pros: Lot of room for air flow in this case. I also like the separate chambers. Having a completely open chamber for the motherboard makes adding or removing components a breeze. The wall separating the two chambers has a cutout making it easy to add after-market CPU coolers and brackets without having to remove the motherboard. With cables routing cutouts all around the motherboard, cable management is easy and makes for a very clean looking build.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Fans that come with the case, 2 front mounted and one rear mounted, are 140mm and adequate low noise fans. I did replace them with noiseless hydraulic bearing fans after a couple of months. Also, this is a very large cube case, so if space and size are constraint, then you might want to check out other models.
