5 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely Amazing

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 CC-9011034-WLED Silver Steel ATX Cube Computer Case

Pros: Too many to list~

Cons: None~

Other Thoughts: I have been building and modding for years, Corsair cases never disappoint! Sooooo much room and it rivals most full tower ATX cases. The thought design put into this case is worth every penny! After stepping away from corsair cases just to broaden my knowledge base, I realized I made a costly mistake, I almost smashed the last NZXT case with a sledge hammer, so frustrating! Anyway, If you are on the fence lean this way. It made recent build so easy, I held it in my arms and sang to it :)

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost to easy

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 CC-9011034-WLED Silver Steel ATX Cube Computer Case

Pros: This case was almost to easy to work with.
Nice open area to work with wiring.
Lots of air flow.
Dual chamber to separate the power supply.
Extra zip ties and screws for fans.
Simple design that works.
Has a dust filter.

Cons: Now here is why I knocked an egg from a almost perfect case. The screws for the case fans are complete garbage. I almost striped every single screw (did destroy one and had to use pliers to unscrew it and used it to pre-thread the fans but didn't seem to help.) to add three 120mm fans in the front and move the two 140mm fans from the front to the top. I replaced one of the screws that was striped with one from my old Antec 900 case on a fan I haven't installed yet and was not threaded and it went in so much better than the screws that corsair gave me and it is installed into a corsair fan. This little headache took me about an hour to install 5 fans by taking out 3 fans from my old case (which took 5 mins) to install 5 fans into the 540. (which took 45 mins). Anyways they are in and not rattling even when they are spinning at max speeds which makes me happy.

Other Thoughts: I like the look of this case a lot more than my old Antec 900 and wanted to get it for some time now. I'm just glad I have wire management instead of trying to run all the cables threw one opening and shoved under the HDD rack on the bottom. I don't need to take the whole case a part just to clean it correctly once a month because it has a no dust filter. The only thing I did like the 900 was the side fan I had installed as a blower to suck heat from my MSI GTX 770 card from the side which drop the temps on him almost by 10C.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 CC-9011034-WLED Silver Steel ATX Cube Computer Case

Pros: Case is perfect for high end builds. Air flow, design and cable routing is the best i have ever seen. The window is amazing for showing off your components and water tubes. Window is tinted and amazingly clear.

Cons: Grill guard on top is a bit of a pain to get off and on. Needs more magnetic fan filters. Would like to see some sort of latch design instead of thumb screws. Side window, is a tad flimsy but not a big deal. Optical bay drive is just plan in the way, recommend removing completely.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this case soo much

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 CC-9011034-WLED Silver Steel ATX Cube Computer Case

Pros: I don't normally do reviews but when i do its because i felt the need to... This case is really fantastic I've had it for a year now bought it with last years tax return. No problems with it at all cable management is great being that the case is split into 2 different chambers all my components stay nice and cool and I'm pretty rough on stuff and nothing has broken.

TL:DR
If when i build another rig i will use this exact same case unless corsair puts out a new better one

Cons: None so far except it's not dust proof but what case really is..

3 out of 5 eggsWonderful Case

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 CC-9011034-WLED Silver Steel ATX Cube Computer Case

Pros: A very nice case. Solid build with a beautiful side panel window to view your computer parts. Looks very nice with LED strips as well. Cables can be tucked away at the back of the case. Good for folks who aren't particularly good with cable management.

Cons: The only con I have with this case was the scratches on the side panel. The scratches are already there when I first opened the case. I had expected better. Thankfully, its not that noticible.

Other Thoughts: i7 5820k, 2x GTX 970 SLI, 16GB DDR4, Intel 240GB SSD, X99 Deluxe, EVGA 1200 P2, Corsair H60, 2TB HDD, 3TB HDD, 1TB HDD.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case, lousy fans

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 CC-9011034-WLED Silver Steel ATX Cube Computer Case

Pros: Absolutely love this case. Brilliant design from an airflow standpoint. Solid, quality feel to it's construction.* (see 1 exception below)

Cons: -1 egg: The fans included are cheap and obnoxiously LOUD. Be prepared to replace them.

Minor annoyance - 2x 3.5" mounts, and 6x 2.5" mounts, would've been nice if this was more balanced, as I've got 2x 2.5" and 4x 3.5" to place.

* And as others have noted, the 3.5" mounts feel extremely flimsy - go delicate with them.

2 out of 5 eggsRattle box

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 CC-9011034-WLED Silver Steel ATX Cube Computer Case

Pros: -compartmentalization of the psu, 2.5" bays and the two bottom 3.5" bays make for nice cable management
-very roomy for a mid-tower
-room for five chassis fans
-virtually tool-less
-looks great

Cons: realistically there are only two cons i've found, and one if them may be user error on my part.

the first one is that the mounting trays for the 3.5" bays on the floor of the case are kind of flimsy. one of the little handles that you squeeze to remove the hard drives snapped off. maybe i applied to much pressure, but the trays lock in fairly tight so a considerable amount of force is needed to remove the drives. not taking an egg off for this since i probably gusto'd the thing off.

the second con is the major one. this case has absolutely no sound dampening. the thing rattles and hums so much that i'm seriously considering running only one chassis fan until i can replace the case.
the top portion of the case that covers the two top fans makes the most noise. the black plastic strips that run along the face of the case and along the top are not secured to the metal grate underneath very well, and rattle quite loudly. some of them are so loosely applied that i can bend them up off the grate a solid quarter-inch without effort. i had to stuff a piece of fabric underneath some of them so they don't rattle.
combine that with running a fan in all five locations and this thing just sounds off. there is almost zero noise when running just my cpu cooler (the liquid cooler that came with the fx processors, which is basically the corsair h80i).
i thought maybe i got a bad fan with the case or the extra one installed was bad, so i unplugged them one by one to try and find the culprit. turns out that none of the fans are bad, and running more than one chassis fan at once makes the case hum and rattle incessantly. i'm not looking for silence, i know fan noise comes with the territory. but the sound this thing makes is akin to someone running a dremel behind a couple closed doors across the house.

tl;dr - flimsy 3.5" mounting trays, no sound dampening and unbearable humming and rattling from the case.

Other Thoughts: such a shame. i really like this case and it's features, but i can't stand the noise it insists on making.

5 out of 5 eggsbeautiful

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 CC-9011034-WLED Silver Steel ATX Cube Computer Case

Pros: I am so glad i went with this its quality made and already has several ways for water cooling. plenty of room and space and if u need anything they sell parts online on there site. really nice big window so you can see everything and so far nothing ever really heats up at all. is pretty huge but not to huge.

Cons: none, wish it had some more lights maybe.

Other Thoughts: 5830k, x99s msi gaming 7, 32gb gskill 2400, samsung 850 evo 500 gb 3d vertical, corsair 850 hx, corsair hydro series H100i, corsair carbide series air 540 silver edition,windows 32 and 64 bit, geforce 970.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Build Quality

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 CC-9011034-WLED Silver Steel ATX Cube Computer Case

Pros: This steel case was built with PC builder's enthusiasm in mind. It's absolutely stunning layout and chambered design makes for super clean cable management. I've already recommended this case to several of my friends and they've already made their purchases for this case. DO BUY!

Cons: It's too sexy.

Other Thoughts: I made a new rig for the holidays and threw in an Asus Rampage IV Black Edition motherboard in there. This case comes with a standoff stud that accommodates the center screw hole of the motherboard to hold your new motherboard in place to line up the other eight screws. This makes installing a new motherboard so much more easy.

5 out of 5 eggsworth very penny

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 CC-9011034-WLED Silver Steel ATX Cube Computer Case

Pros: quiet, sufficient airflow, well organized 2-side component space design, large holes for managing cables in the back, ideal size to put under desk. easy to clean the dust

i had a hard time choosing between this model and the corsair t760 case. I was first attracted by the t760's side window. but I eventually chose this model for myself during black friday sales at a low price. worth every penny

PS: my friend bought the t760, I am glad I didn't buy that one, it's very nice but its way too huge (and tall) if you have limited space in your room or under ur desk

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: would be better if this model have more color selection
