5 out of 5 eggsCrazy Easy Build

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011048-WW) Arctic White Steel ATX Mid Tower Cube Computer Case

Pros: I don't actually have this case, I built a computer for my friend and he picked this case. Let me say it is by far the easiest build I have ever done. There is so much room for everything, you could hide Narnia in this thing.

I just build a new setup with the Enthoo Luxe, and while I like the aesthetics of the Luxe more, hands down the 540 wins in terms of ease of build. And it's not so bad looking itself.

Cons: Nothing I can think of.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful Case, Almost Perfect, Suggestions for improvement

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011048-WW) Arctic White Steel ATX Mid Tower Cube Computer Case

Pros: Corsair has really made a splash in the chassis market with their industrial good looking cases that spare no expense while incorporating much of the feedback Corsair actively seeks from end-users and enthusiasts alike. The results are evident as the Air 540 gives a new take to the mid-tower chassis.

This is my 1st Corsair case and I am extremely impressed, read on for pros/cons and further suggestions

+This case LOOKS AMAZING. I really love the white and black constrast and the white is a nice quality powder coat that does not pick up fingerprints. I personally think it looks better than the black (fingerprints pick up) and the gunmetal grey, but this is of course personal preference.

+The form factor isn't quite new, admittedly the HAF-XB did this compartment thing first but Corsair twists this on its side and adds an amazing looking window that is super clean with all the right cut outs. The big, clean side panel lets you really emphasize all those expensive components you put in there to show off that fancy GeForce GTX or Fury X Radeon Logo. Simply brilliant looking.

+Quiet!!!! Much quieter than my Cooler Master HAF X. These 140mm Corsair fans are really quiet and move a ton of air. With a 2x120mm rad on top, that's quite a bit of exhaust too.

+The double compartment is really brilliant, as it allows you to route your PSU and SATA cables from the back and keep it as messy as you like while the windowed portion is really minimal and clean.

+Top and front grilles are really easy to remove and clean.

+The stockier and wider look of the case looks more like an appliance than the standard ATX full tower, and it manages to hold almost as much. Its just a much more balanced looking case that looks fantastic imo. There are a few improvements to be made, but overall I think Corsair really gets it.

+Power and HDD led are bright but not overpowered. Front looks clean and well-balanced. I prefer it in vertical mode, I don't like how it looks when oriented horizontally.

Cons: None of these are enough to take eggs off, these are more suggestions for Corsair because I know their top notch employees look for feedback to make their products perfect.

-Not enough SSD holders. Some may say 4 in the cage, 2 on the hot swap are enough, but high-end platforms like X99 have 10 SATA3/6G slots and I use them all. There's enough room above the SATA cage for another SATA cage and this would go a long way to making this case perfect.

-There's no screens below the hot swap bays leaving gaping holes there.

-Could use more USB 3.0 or even USB 2.0 front headers. There's only 2xUSB3.0 which is low compared to most chassis.

-A slightly wider case (Air 740?) would allow the 5.25" bays to be horizontal instead of vertical. While vertical is OK for optical drives, it is non-optimal, and anything like fan controller LEDs or add-in slot displays like the Asus Rampage V will only display in horizontal mode.

-A drive bay cage for the 5.25" slots would be nice to accommodate more 3.5" or 2.5" drives. I ended up buying the IcyDock bay from Newegg for 3.5" and 2x2.5" drives which ended up allowing me to use all drives. I also used a dremel to rub the edges down to allow use of the native white front bay cover.

-The side panels are not as flimsy as some reviews stated, so maybe they improved the rigidity after early complaints. The big window however means air flow is not as good as the case I came from, the CM HAF X

-The bottom hot swap bay holders are not as sturdy as you would like with SSDs installed. With 3.5" HDDs you would get extra support from the drive, but its really hard to remove 2.5" drives with an SSD. You can just insert the SSDs without a bracket though without any problems.

-The grommet come loose from the mobo holes and are really hard to replace once that happens.

-The PSU compartment gets a little bit tight with longer PSUs. Also, I found the PSU tends to rattle a little bit with this mounting system. Corsair can maybe use some rubber on the PSU standoffs to absorb rattling noises.

Other Thoughts: This is my first Corsair case, I have a ton of their other products but this case has thoroughly impressed me. I know Corsair really combs reviews, forums for feedback and it really shows. The attention to detail on this thing is amazing and everytime I look over I just smile because it really accentuates all that money I've put in there.

Highly recommend to anyone, even though cooling has dropped off slightly compared to my bigger full tower, its worth it for the great looks and functionality.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Cool Case

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011048-WW) Arctic White Steel ATX Mid Tower Cube Computer Case

Pros: Tons of airflow, good looking,Lots of space for cable management, or lack there of if you are the type to jumble up all the cords,

Cons: Its pretty big and bulky, but if you are looking at this case, that probably isn't an issue.

Other Thoughts: The case along with the 3 fans it comes with is more than sufficient at cooling my PC at stock speeds under load, and Im sure it will continue to cool it well after I add in a couple more fans and overclock everything.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat chassis! Awesome airflow!

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011048-WW) Arctic White Steel ATX Mid Tower Cube Computer Case

Pros: First of all, this case has two chambers. One where your PSU, SSDs, 5.2" drives, and cabling. The other for your mobo/gpu/cpu and other hardware. Absolutely fantastic! Even a monkey can manage the cables nicely on this case it is simply too easy!

Cons: This probably isn't really a con, but the window makes a squeaky sound when you press on it

Other Thoughts: Fits any video card, I have an r9 295x2 on it and still great airflow and no problems whatsoever.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat easy to setup case

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011048-WW) Arctic White Steel ATX Mid Tower Cube Computer Case

Pros: This case is great for cable management and has decent airflow.
The fans it comes with are okay but not great. I would recommend getting some replacement fans.

Cons: The one 3.5in bay closest to the back has that sata connector that goes the the panel that divides the two compatments. This sata connector seems unusable if you have a powersupply large enough to block the sata connector on the other side.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome case

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011048-WW) Arctic White Steel ATX Mid Tower Cube Computer Case

Pros: Excellent design, versatile and expandable, lots of space, solid assembly and a nice aesthetic. also three fans included and easy to access filters and compartments. I'm really down with the separate compartment design and the space for cable management. It's also really awesome that they include tie downs for your cables.

Cons: None to mention.

5 out of 5 eggsFinally, a suitable new home for my PC

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011048-WW) Arctic White Steel ATX Mid Tower Cube Computer Case

Pros: Classy minimalist look while keeping a window to show off your hardware.

You have a ton of options to really make it your own when working with this case.

You could fit a 360 radiator in the front, a 240 (or 280 if you're clever), and a 120/140 all in the main chamber together.

It fit everything from my full tower (including a custom water cooling loop with a 360 radiator) due to it's great layout.

The best case I've ever had.

Cons: The bottom of the case is a little awkward being nearly open and not having a filter or anything. (Especially if you opt to put the case on it's side)
The hot swap tray placements are only alright. I had to get some angled fittings for the radiator to make things barely fit. I would have liked to see some holes to easily mount fans if you didn't want to use the space for drives.

I wish there was easier access to the screw holes on the top of the 5.25". I took off all the plastic panels only to find out that the area was covered by the frame.

Other Thoughts: I got some rubber feet for the back side of the case to have the option of laying it down or standing it up.

Installed a dual bay reservoir in the front and mounted a water temp display. Putting in 2x120 fans with covers and dust filters low on the side window to prevent the acrylic from capturing too much heat.

Corsair makes the side window panel available as a replacement or if you want to show off your cable management. It's been hard to find a retailer for it tho.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011048-WW) Arctic White Steel ATX Mid Tower Cube Computer Case

Pros: Nice sleek look, good airflow, plenty of room for cable management (or to ignore cable management all together lol) in "back" half of the case, can accommodate large graphics cards and, for those people who can't work in tight spaces, room to work.

Cons: only one filter (no top filter), two gaping holes on the bottom of the case where HDD slots are (if you aren't using HDDs, they are wide open to dust)

Other Thoughts: I've always gone with large cases so I had room for bigger graphics cards, extra fans and just room to work in the case. Decided to try this case because it appeared to have the room for me to work and the cable management space just can't be beat by any other case on the market. Except for the big holes at the bottom of the case, I'm happy. Corsair really should have provided the ability to close off that section of the case (simple plates to put in the hdd slots would have done the trick). I put two 100 mm fans in those slots to push air out but it would have been nice if Corsair had simply provided a way to close that off. Given that people are now choosing to use SSDs more often, it would just make sense to acknowledge that in a case that provides a completely separate area for the SSDs.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011048-WW) Arctic White Steel ATX Mid Tower Cube Computer Case

Pros: I love the looks of this case, but I love its functionality more. It's a joy to install components in and the cable management is great. It was just so much more fun to build than a cramped case. The board went on to the standoffs like a dream. I've built a couple of machines now and I definitely enjoyed the ease of this one most.

Cons: While all that room improves cooling and ease of build, it is a big case, but if you have the room, I really recommend it.

Other Thoughts: I went with a cheaper case in the past to save money and regretted it. This time I really spent some time trying to find the perfect case that wouldn't break the bank. While it's a little more than a budget case, the differences are night and day. I do read these reviews when trying to make a selection to see what kind of pros and cons people find and enjoyed giving back to someone who might be thinking about this case.
