5 out of 5 eggsFinally, a suitable new home for my PC

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011048-WW) Arctic White Steel ATX Mid Tower Cube Computer Case

Pros: Classy minimalist look while keeping a window to show off your hardware.

You have a ton of options to really make it your own when working with this case.

You could fit a 360 radiator in the front, a 240 (or 280 if you're clever), and a 120/140 all in the main chamber together.

It fit everything from my full tower (including a custom water cooling loop with a 360 radiator) due to it's great layout.

The best case I've ever had.

Cons: The bottom of the case is a little awkward being nearly open and not having a filter or anything. (Especially if you opt to put the case on it's side)
The hot swap tray placements are only alright. I had to get some angled fittings for the radiator to make things barely fit. I would have liked to see some holes to easily mount fans if you didn't want to use the space for drives.

I wish there was easier access to the screw holes on the top of the 5.25". I took off all the plastic panels only to find out that the area was covered by the frame.

Other Thoughts: I got some rubber feet for the back side of the case to have the option of laying it down or standing it up.

Installed a dual bay reservoir in the front and mounted a water temp display. Putting in 2x120 fans with covers and dust filters low on the side window to prevent the acrylic from capturing too much heat.

Corsair makes the side window panel available as a replacement or if you want to show off your cable management. It's been hard to find a retailer for it tho.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011048-WW) Arctic White Steel ATX Mid Tower Cube Computer Case

Pros: Nice sleek look, good airflow, plenty of room for cable management (or to ignore cable management all together lol) in "back" half of the case, can accommodate large graphics cards and, for those people who can't work in tight spaces, room to work.

Cons: only one filter (no top filter), two gaping holes on the bottom of the case where HDD slots are (if you aren't using HDDs, they are wide open to dust)

Other Thoughts: I've always gone with large cases so I had room for bigger graphics cards, extra fans and just room to work in the case. Decided to try this case because it appeared to have the room for me to work and the cable management space just can't be beat by any other case on the market. Except for the big holes at the bottom of the case, I'm happy. Corsair really should have provided the ability to close off that section of the case (simple plates to put in the hdd slots would have done the trick). I put two 100 mm fans in those slots to push air out but it would have been nice if Corsair had simply provided a way to close that off. Given that people are now choosing to use SSDs more often, it would just make sense to acknowledge that in a case that provides a completely separate area for the SSDs.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011048-WW) Arctic White Steel ATX Mid Tower Cube Computer Case

Pros: I love the looks of this case, but I love its functionality more. It's a joy to install components in and the cable management is great. It was just so much more fun to build than a cramped case. The board went on to the standoffs like a dream. I've built a couple of machines now and I definitely enjoyed the ease of this one most.

Cons: While all that room improves cooling and ease of build, it is a big case, but if you have the room, I really recommend it.

Other Thoughts: I went with a cheaper case in the past to save money and regretted it. This time I really spent some time trying to find the perfect case that wouldn't break the bank. While it's a little more than a budget case, the differences are night and day. I do read these reviews when trying to make a selection to see what kind of pros and cons people find and enjoyed giving back to someone who might be thinking about this case.

5 out of 5 eggswell designed case

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011048-WW) Arctic White Steel ATX Mid Tower Cube Computer Case

Pros: If space is of no constraint, this is the case to buy (close to the size of two mid-cases side by side). Very well designed with everything just where you would want it. Airflow is completely unimpeded. Best case ever.

Cons: It is large.

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair Carbide 540

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011048-WW) Arctic White Steel ATX Mid Tower Cube Computer Case

Pros: Dual-chamber design allows you to show the good parts of the system build without the pesky wiring of the PSU. You no longer have to make an extra effort to tidy up cable management, which in turn makes a good case for air flow. It can easily fit any range of close-loop watercooling.

Cons: Bottom of the case could use some filters even though you can't put a fan there.

3 out of 5 eggsShould be five stars---But...

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011048-WW) Arctic White Steel ATX Mid Tower Cube Computer Case

Pros: Massive amounts of room to manage cables, etc--Lives up to it's billing...Nice clean lines, although some comments about the robustness of the case itself seem odd. Lighter than the Thermaltake case I still love--the cable mgmt and PSU at the bottom are wonderful design features.

Cons: Most of the cons that appear on these pages I didn't experience, however the unit arrived with only 1 of the 2 front USB 3.0 ports functioning. Had to partially disassemble and connect another USB to test whether the issue was on my MB or on the case.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully, Corsair can send me a replacement for the defective part--not a deal breaker, but troublesome nevertheless.

4 out of 5 eggsNearly Perfect

This review is from: Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 (CC-9011048-WW) Arctic White Steel ATX Mid Tower Cube Computer Case

Pros: -Tremendous amounts of room. You could go spelunking in this case.
-Enthusiast Friendly. There isn't a GPU on the market that won't fit in this mid tower beaut.
-Wonderful fans that are ultra quiet (though the reason it's a 4 star review instead of 5 is related to this)
-Looks so dang good.
-Also too much cable management space. It made me lazy.
-Included motherboard standoffs made life easy for installation.

Cons: -My one major gripe about this case was just an isolated incident. The case comes with 3 amazing Corsair AF 140 fans, two of which have pretty, white LEDs. When I first booted the system, the exhaust fan on the back was making a noise as it spun that sounded like there was something internal that was obstructing proper blade spinning or something. Regardless, it was annoying, too loud for my liking, and un-fixable, whether because of the OEM fan design (meaning no rubber mounts and whatnot) or just by design which would be annoying. Regardless, I left the fan in but unplugged while I wait for a replacement to arrive (with another white LED :D)
-Only other con is minor which is I would prefer more HDD cages. The only two are hot swap bays in the front. I like them, I just wish I could install a third drive down the road without having to ghetto rig a Velcro mount in back. Again, a minor gripe.

Other Thoughts: Don't let my con deter you. I ADORE this case and would buy it 10,000 more times. No other case that I've built in has made my life this easy.
