4 out of 5 eggsGood Case

Pros: ATX form factor fit components well.
Cool blue lights
2X 80mm cool blue LED fans
Temp gauge and fan control is a great addition
2X usb 2.0 on front of case
Availiable expansion

Cons: Longer graphics cards make HDD insertion inconvenient, but still doable.
USB 2.0, not 3.0
Air duct is offset from CPU.
Additional 80mm fan can replace the air duct.

Other Thoughts: Nice looking case

3 out of 5 eggsLooks pretty

Pros: This CC has lights and a plastic seethru window on the side,,, kids likeee.
Cheap on wallet,,, i likee.

both sides of the case can be romoved for internal access which really helps on the right side as one is now able to remove the 'mount' panel that the mother board is secured into by sliding the whole mobo out as needed. Length of wiring is the only limiting factor when doing business this way though. I tried taking advantage of this seemingly usefull feature only to find out it was more of a pain than anything when reinstalling, hence an unattractive feature for me.

Case is fine as far as sturdiness is concerned,,, run of the mill I suppose. I dont buy $100+ cases yet. This one is fine for starters for sure.

Cons: Only speaker plugin ports are in the back. None in the front or on the top!! You will always have to get down and wrench around towards the back and 'eenie-meenie-minee-mow-it' because it's always dark down there.

I dont like the 'front door' feature regarding access to the power button and the CD ROM. I have a fealling my kid is going to break this sooner rather than later. I just hope that when this does break, it doesnt prevent the rest of the computer from functioning.

I will likely try installing another fan to the 'window' side of the computer do add more ventilation. Not sure if this is even an issue, but this cc only has three fans (CPU, Vid Card, and the PSU). I think this case needs one on pulling air into the case, not just blowing it out(?)

Other Thoughts: Oh, no convenient 'clip-on and slide-in' features for HDD or CD ROM bays. Just slide what ya got in, lign it up and screw it in.. Done!

ASRock 970 PRO3 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard; COOLMAX V-500 500W ATX Power Supply; Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive; ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM; PowerColor Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX

Manufacturer Response:

The X-Plorer model case actually should come with two fans, a top and rear, both for exhaust. There is an option to add one to the front and side if you remove the air duct. All are 80mm slots.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Case

Pros: I have built 2 setups using the black and the silver colors, both purchased from the Egg. Folks, look at the price; for the money, this can't be beat. Excellent air flow engineering with a blowhole in the top. Large, bright CPU temp gauge is an EXCELLENT option; instead of guessing about what you are running at, you know for sure. Well built and tight. My dual cores under load running no more than 33°C max even when I used the Sandra Burnin utility to stress them to the max. Both my clients went crazy when they saw their finished units, they look beautiful. Lots of WOW factor.

Cons: Personally, I am annoyed by the gate-door that must be opened to access the power switch and DVD drives. However, it seems like most folks don't mind so I guess I am in the minority. Also- the cable length of the temperature probe is inadequate. It needs another 7" to comfortably make the distance from the front panel to the CPU mount.

Other Thoughts: I have read one poster's comment that his unit overheated and he blamed the case. Guy, the case has nothing to do with your unit overheating. The reason is the way you set up your components, installed your CPU Heatsink and your cooling config. There are some excellent computer help forums such as Suggestafix and Videohelp that can offer suggestions.. Another poster complained that the CPU temp gauge didn't work. You probably didn't mount it, right? First apply your thermo paste to the proc, then remove the plastic protector off the metal probe, and postition it barely touching the side (not the on the top!) of the processor and fasten the heatsink down. Done.

1 out of 5 eggsDULL COLOR ISSUES

Pros: No problems other than the case color, like the lights and the display, very nice and clean, no broken parts. Giving lowest rating to bring to would be purchasers attention.

Cons: WRONG COLOR! The reason most people buy a case is for the appearance first and then specifications next. I bought this case for the nice bright blue that is seen in most of the Newegg pics, however, I got the dark navy blue that looks more black then anything (which is seen in a few of the pics, thought it was bad lighting). Very dull and disappointing.

Other Thoughts: This is my second case of this type, the first I purchased was the bright green, when I received it it was olive dark green, I shouldve learned. Apparently the manufacturer is saving a few bucks by not putting on the white undercoat first. That is bad for business. I am a reseller, we build and sell hundreds of systems a year, unfortunately for them, the few cents they saved on undercoating will lose them the money they would have made from us.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect.

Pros: Besides looking great, the door on the front is great for keeping 2 year olds from pressing buttons (like the POWER BUTTON) when you're working on something important!). It also stands out from those plain black or beige cases. Built in temp gauge and front USB is nice! Not sure why people are having problems with heat, it has a side fan and a top fan. This is my wife's PC case (she picked it out) and hers is usually only at 80-90 degrees and it's a gaming system. To people that cut themselves inside the case, wear gloves or be more careful. They can't make padded cases for you lol (just padded rooms).

Cons: It does get annoying having to open that door every time you want to use the memory card reader or DVD\CD drive.

Other Thoughts: Everyone seems to be listing their systems these days so here it goes:
RAIDMAX Scorpio case | Corsair 650w | Asus p6T mobo | Intel i7 920 (Quade-core @ 2.66GHz) | ZEROtherm core 92 heatsink w/fan | G.Skill DDR3 1600 3x1GB Gaming Memory (upgrading soon) | 2x Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB 7200RPM 32mb Cache Hard drives | Asus 22x DVD burner | 2x EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 1GB DDR3 Video Cards running in SLI | all in one memory card reader | Hanns-G 25" Widescreen LCD | Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Case for money

Pros: It's a nice looking case and the integrated fan control and temperature gauge is a plus. There's a fair amount of space inside and it holds up very well to beatings. Spacing between the cards and the drives is done right, although it might be tight at times. Mine has been on my floor for four years and thus far there are no real problems with it. Fans are set up to draw from front and exhaust out top, back, and sides and the vent is actually located in the right spot for most PCI fans.

Cons: No HD cooling fans. The holes and the vents are in the metal, but the plastic facade doesn't have any vents. I ended up buying a new fan and Dremeling some vents in after one of my HD's read 150*F. Things are much cooler now. The wiring for the front LED's is also a little cheap, they're beginning to go out on me after several years and there's no easy access to them. The USB ports are upside-down and too close together. There's no space behind the mobo panel to tuck wiring away.

Other Thoughts: It's a good case for little money with some pizazz. I think my next case is going to be a bit more expensive and this one is going to some other build, but it's served me well for some time.

5 out of 5 eggsAlmost 3 years and counting

Pros: Holds my stuff inside it. Loads of space inside and nifty looking lights. Bought it from newegg march of '07 for the same as current price. Fits everything I have needed and I have changed the video card twice, so enough room to move around.

Cons: None really. I had to move it once, and it does get somewhat heavy. The USB ports on the front are upside down, which is just... odd. The temperature gauge is basically useless to me, just dangles inside and reads about 80 degrees on a given day.

Other Thoughts: I don't get what the deal is with people breaking everything on it. I have not broken a thing on it, but then again, I don't try to wrestle it every other Tuesday. It's a case, not a safe, people.

2 out of 5 eggsOnly looks cool but its a waste

Pros: I gotta admit, it looks cool

Cons: Too small, front USB ports broke, some of the plastic parts on the front door broke, led temp monitor never worked

Other Thoughts: At first I thought this was an awsome Case...but after I got it I realized it was small, almost too small. I have 2 graphics cards and they stick into the hard-drive bays. The door is just a pain. Soon I am probably going to buy a different case.
