3 out of 5 eggsInteresting Novelty Case

Pros: Side and top windows, good drive capacity, 420W PSU, versatile, cute, compact.
Accepted a very large ThermalTake Blue Orb II cooler (New Egg item# N82E16835106069) with 1 mm to spare after removing a tiny notch on the back panel.

Cons: Thin sheet aluminum is weak, handle does not inspire confidence, PSU ultimately failed, internal USB cables excessively long, only one SATA power plug, internally VERY compact.

Other Thoughts: This case sat shelved for almost nine years after a failed project, then I discovered the PSU had gone dead at some point. It took some research for it to dawn on me that is an ATX form factor PSU with a 4.6" depth. I managed to cram in a Corsair TX650W supply with a depth of 5.9" and a massive array of cables. This supply is nearly silent compared to the quite audible original supply. Minus one egg for flimsy construction and minus one egg for outdated unreliable PSU. The result now is happy and it is good looking, so I will not argue with four or five egg ratings.

3 out of 5 eggsCase Grounded Speaker Causes Smoke

Pros: The case is small, or as small as I think is reasonable for a Micro ATX case. The slide out Mainboard tray is clever and makes component access fairly easy. The case looks pretty snazzy from the front.

Cons: The unit I got had a case ground fault. I don't believe anything on the mainboard was damaged, but you can imagine the panic when you first turn on a system and see smoke come out of it. Wires were melted, too, before the system could be powered off. The mother board tray, while a fantastic idea, is secured by only two screws and does not sit flush with the case with my graphics card installed. There is a handle in front of the case, but it does not seem very secure with only 4 plastic tabs and a few screws into the plastic holding a decently heavy system to that handle.

Other Thoughts: The power supply lacks an 8 pin connector for the CPU, and with only three 4-pin molex connectors for your HDDs, you won't be using it to power any higher end video cards, though those cards do fit. If your video card requires external power connections and those connections are not on the back of the card, they may be blocked by the case structure in some instances, but those are not unreasonable trade-offs for a case of this size. Build quality is iffy, but solid enough to get the job done.

Manufacturer Response:

You can do an RMA through us for the case speaker to get an exchange on it if you are still under our warranty period. You can contact Apevia's customer service at or call at (909) 718-0789. We try to reply to all calls and e-mails as soon as we can.

5 out of 5 eggsWife loves the new case

Pros: Got this for my wife, she wanted a new case and picked this out.
Its a very nice case, install is fairly easy, and looks great too.
I didn't use the power supply that came with it, since I needed something to push her radeon 6750 video card, so I grabbed a LEPA 500w psu from here on newegg and the size of the lepa psu is perfect for this case.

Cons: only one con the front panel audio header did not work on the case, maybe a loose wire, short not sure.
but since she doesn't use it anyway just left it disconnected and all is good.

Other Thoughts: If they had a case like this that could take an ATX motherboard Id buy it for myself, but they don't just for mitx and matx.

1 out of 5 eggsReceived damaged

Pros: Haven't gotten to use this yet. Received damaged beyond repair.

Cons: Looked like it had been drop kicked. Carton did not show any damage but the case was bent beyond repair. AND I had to pay to return it and get to wait a week or longer to get another one. Hope this one isn't damaged.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Cases

Pros: They are for Mini-Micro ATX boards and they accommodate them quite well. These are great cases to throw in a mini system with some solid state drives, and build you a little entertainment center or Mid range gaming system. I love the form factor, and even included some cathode lights of my own. Very easy to install the motherboard because the tray slides out. That is its greatest feature. You can build A whole system in 15 minutes. Its that easy to put in.

Cons: Video card height restriction. Not necessarily a full on Con, because that the size of the cube. I wanted a 1GB older ATI RADEON HD card in there but had to settle for a 512 smaller one. No big deal.

The cost is just a little to high. In my mind when the case costs more than the motherboard and processor combined then it's overprices.
$50 and it would be my favorite Mini-ATX case of all time.

Other Thoughts: Great case, I love it.
Just cut the price in half, and they would sell like hotcakes.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective from factory

Pros: Looks nice. Perfect for on top of desk. Compact. Easy installation of components. Temp gauge.

Cons: Many of these cases are defective from factory. Mine kept shutting off and would not start just like a lot of other buyers of this case have been reporting. The problem is the power switch itself, not the button.

No instructions come with the case, so you kind of have to guess about how to do things like removing the front cover, removing the HD cage, and placing the temperature sensors.

Other Thoughts: Regardless of what Apevia says about a ground wire, I repaired mine by replacing the power switch. I pull apart a lot of old cases, power switches have been standardized since the time when the ATX form factor started being used.

Like another buyer, I wanted to like this case and also did not want to go through the RMA process repaired it instead. I will be requesting remuneration from Apevia to compensate me for my time in repairing their defective case.

WARNING: I have a Gigabyte F285M- D3H and got a warning every time started the computer with a good switch, after trying to start it with the defective switch with the defective switch, that the BIOS had been corrupted. This board has a dual BIOS and was able to recover the original BIOS from the backup. If your board does not have this feature, you may have your BIOS corrupted by the case defect.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome, very portable LAN gaming rig

Pros: Probably the most portable micro-ATX case ever. Fits perfectly on top of my rather small computer desk at home. I was considering building a mini-ITX gaming rig in a Bitfenix Prodigy but that ended up being much heavier and too big for my liking (wonderful design however). So I went with this case.

I had moved everything from my huge Antec 900 case and am grateful to have slimmed down my rig. Now can I fit this gaming rig into the trunk of my wife's Fiat 500 which could hardly fit my peripherals and Dell 24" monitor.

LAN gaming party ready now. Very excited to try it out again in this format...

Cons: Rather cramped, cannot install long graphics card where the power connectors (PCI 6/8-pin) are on top due to blockage by the 5.25" drive mounting panel. Plastic handle seems to be very fragile and not good for holding up rig by itself. Default Apevia power supply a piece of junk to be replaced with a much higher quality power supply. Default blue fan (120mm) very noisy and should be replaced at some point. Cooling may be difficult and tight fit for any water cooled system (probably 120mm radiator I suspect)?

Other Thoughts: My rig is as follows:

2 out of 5 eggsI want to like it

Pros: pretty

Cons: poor power supply, poor documentation

Other Thoughts: Power supply went bad in 45 days. Seems to be an ongoing problem. Not worth the trouble to RMA for another bad power supply. Too bad you can't buy this case without a power supply. (Mine still ran lights and fans; but not mobo - made it tough to diagnose. )
Would be nice if documentation were better, describing pull out mobo tray rather than have to find myself. Longer wires for power/usb; easier to change thermometer from C to F. little stuff. The bad power supply is the deal-breaker.

4 out of 5 eggsAlright

Pros: It comes with a decent power supply for what i need, held together well on the outside, temperature seems to be reading for the most part accurate.

Cons: Flimsy. The screws go in, and they easily strip the case, and everything scratches very easily.

Other Thoughts: I knew upon buying that the fan had an led, but it's too bright for me. Definitely not for gaming. PSU held up fine (its not incredibly cheap, like some bundles.)

5 out of 5 eggsA great little case.

Pros: Nice looking case. Good fit and finish. Case and power supply fans run quiet. All standard size computer components fit.

Cons: I don't remember if the instructions for the case indicate that there is a switch on the temperature display to toggle between °C and °F. Default is °C. I sent an email to the factory and received a prompt reply about the switch. When I upgrade the DVD player I will make the switch.

The front panel wires are a little short and the motherboard must be at least half way in before they can be connected. Tight fit but I managed even with my big paws.

Other Thoughts: I put this together with an FX-4100 Zambezi cpu on a GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-S2P with 8gb of G.Skill, and a GIGABYTE GV-N630-1GI GeForce GT 630 video card and Windows 8. I am using a wireless keyboard, mouse, and wi-fi strictly for television entertainment (37" LED). The video card had to be set to custom specs but it works flawlessly.
