Being a pioneer in the computer gaming market, Apevia feels that it is its responsibility to introduce a stand-alone Micro ATX case with the added flair of an acrylic side-window, as most cases in this category are rather “plain”. With this in mind, the design team made sure that this Micro ATX case would also allow for installation of a standard ATX power supply for those who require maximum power.

The X-Qboii offers ample cooling for its size and as with all of the Apevia cases, unmatched style. The X-Qboii features the best cooling among similar Micro ATX chassis in the market (up to 4 case fans may be installed), a standard sized ATX 500W power supply, side-window, tool free installation, and front accessible USB, firewire and HD audio ports. Adding an aesthetic brushed aluminum faceplate makes the X-Qboii beyond compare. It is compact, chic, and rock solid with superior functionality.

  • newegg Efficient Ventilation The APEVIA X-Qboii comes equipped with a 120mm side fan and allows optional front 120mm fan and dual rear 80mm fans for efficient ventilation and effective system cooling.
  • newegg Transparent Side Window The APEVIA X-Qboii features a fantastic transparent window for a direct view of inner system, and the blue fan LED exudes mystic ambience for eye-catching fun.
  • newegg Convenient I/O Panel The APEVIA X-Qboii boasts a convenient front I/O panel for easy access to two USB ports, two audio ports and one IEEE 1394 port.
  • newegg 500W Power The included 500W power supply unit provides strong and stable power for all your system components.

1 out of 5 eggsyou get what you pay for

Pros: it's sturdy

Cons: 1. you have to take out the hard drive casing to do most things, which is fine once you first realize that, but when you have to go back in to work on various things, it becomes a hassle.
2. the psu is junk. i built a basic computer (it was my first build) so it wasn't demanding on performance or power. i was nervous about installing my own psu (the professional who was teaching me about computers left me with a few guidelines, as a part of learning experience) so the idea of being clueless and playing with electricity sounded bad. i was nearing the top of my budget so this case seemed decent for the price (according to the ratings). about 5 months in one of the bulbs on the side panel fan went out, 2 months later, all of the lights go out occasionally, then they go out completely. after having a professional look at it, the psu is declared as junk and must be replaced if i don't want to risk killing anything.

Other Thoughts: don't buy this if you think you'll save money. don't buy this if you think you can't handle installing your own psu (it's not hard and should only be feared if you're going to do something that's obviously stupid). also, do what i didn't do, look at the other reviews for the cases like this one! they're the same, but with different color panels or no window. i have this model in black, which they no longer carry. if you don't mind taking a risk, and you're madly in love with the look of this case, get it, but don't be amazed if the psu dies.

5 out of 5 eggsGoody little case

Pros: Very good design with side window and power supply. A microATX motherboard fits well and the side window fan lights up like a little lantern, making a nice, cool glow.

Cons: Cable manage ant is a little chaotic but I managed to stuff all of the unused ones in one of the drive bays.

5 out of 5 eggsNice little case

Pros: Building a computer for my mom and she said she wanted a case with blue in it so I picked up this one. Plenty of room with a micro mobo, didn't use a video card since my mom only plays basic games and surfs the net so a mobo with integrated video was enough. Nice blue color, led fan is not too bright.

Cons: Would have been nice if it would have come with two 80mm fans for the rear, had to go buy a couple to use as exhaust fans. Not too big a deal though so I didn't mark down for that. The PSU doesn't appear to be that good and its very light. I never planned on using it so I didn't mark off for that. I would recommend getting a different PSU.

Other Thoughts: I used a modular PSU so the cable management would be easier.

1 out of 5 eggsPSU sucks

Pros: The case is great. You have enough room for plenty of fans and with a little workaround you can install a Zalman 9800 and still use the fan on the side of the case.

Cons: After having this case and PSU for a little over a year the PSU died. I sent it back in fairly easily. (Note: Apevia sounds like a fairly small company. It's like one guy in the back room taking numbers to do work orders.) But, the return process was easy enough.

After having the new PSU installed for a little over a month the thing died on me again. Now I have to RMA it again... Grrr!

Other Thoughts: Safe yourself the headache and get a bigger case and a real PSU. There are many larger cases that will house a MATX MOBO and still provide room to grow. Not to mention the fact that if you get a real PSU your probably not going to have the issues I mentioned, and the warrenty is going to be a lot longer.

1 out of 5 eggsIMPORTANT UPDATE

Pros: the case is pretty

Cons: So, my review below reflected my feelings BEFORE THE PSU DIED after less than 1 month of use. Ran numerous wattage calculators to determine my needs, all of them suggested about 400W, so I would have thought that this would be fine. This is what you get for trying to save money...you end up spending more.

Lesson: PONY UP THE CASH AND BUY A REAL PSU AND NEVER BUY A CASE THAT COMES WITH A PSU

Manufacturer Response:

You can do an RMA through us for the power supply to get an exchange on the PSU if you are still under our warranty period. You can contact Apevia's customer service at service@apevia.com or call at (909) 718-0789. We try to reply to all calls and e-mails as soon as we can.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case!!!!!

Pros: It looks freakin sweet, and it's small. Came with everything needed. It just plain works.

Cons: Ok so only thing that keeps this from 5 eggs. The SATA power cable that comes off the power supply...it's not long enough. It has two outlets and I'm using a sata cd/dvd drive and a sata hard drive. Problem is the hard drive cage is at the bottom of the case and the cd/dvd drive bay is at the very top of the case. The SATA cable from the PSU will reach for example, 2 SATA hard drives, or 2 SATA cd/dvd drives....but for some reason, they made it TOO SHORT TO REACH 1 SATA HARD DRIVE AND 1 SATA CD/DVD DRIVE. So my hard drive resided in the 3.5 floppy bay for a week till I got an extension cord.

Other Thoughts: Ok so it's not that big of a deal...cord plus shipping was like ten bucks, but seriously....come on how hard is it to make the second branch of the cable 16 inches instead of 4?

4 out of 5 eggsWorking Good

Pros: Everything booted up fine and is very quiet. MOBO mounts already installed properly, easy slide in bays for drives. The PSU works, so far.

Cons: If you have a long GPU your floppy drive bay might give you a little issue when plugging in your 6-pin power cable. My 9600 GTS fits but cuts it very close.

Other Thoughts: When putting in the MOBO, you may want to remove the HDD bay at the bottom first, otherwise your doing a little maneuvering to get it in there. I'm using a Mini ATX, so a regular ATX may give you more trouble.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice looking case without being gaudy. Blue front panel is better looking in person and LED is luminous.
PSU is running an ASRock A780gmh and 7750 kuma super silently. Voltages tested fine. Haven't put in a video card yet but will note if there are any problems. Airflow seems decent, like the upside down mobo placement, keeps the cpu in the lower cool air and out of the mess, although a couple of my case jumpers had to stretch.

Screwless drive bays worked great for me, and look kinda cool.

Cons: Can't use an IDE optical and hard drive because the hard drives are meant to be placed on the bottom, so now my hard drive is sitting in the 5.25" slot on my dvd rom because the 3.5" drive bay won't handle the HDD. Be sure to to get an IDE to SATA adapter first! Made cable management crummy since I couldn't hide some PSU wires in the drive cage.
The side 12cm fan seems kind of sluggish but it is sharing the connector with another fan.

Other Thoughts: Thought I may have set the front jumpers wrong but apparently not.

Definitely recommended for the cost, if you intend to use the PSU.

4 out of 5 eggsLooks great

Pros: I bought this for my girlfriends computer I built, threw in 4 Apevia multi colored fans and it looks fantastic (for a girls pc). The case housed a HIS IceQ 4850 1Gb with no room to spare, for being micro atx thats pretty good.

Cons: Only comes with one fan. Also the blue is darker in person. Mine came with a foot missing but thats not worth RMAing.

Other Thoughts: Would have given it a 5 if it came with at least one more fan, and had all the feet. Also dont put a Phenom Quadcore and a OCed 4850 in a micro atx without some extra fans, its not the cases fault but it kept overheating and shutting down even with all 4 fans. Just add a crossflow fan and your good to go.

5 out of 5 eggsPC CASE

Pros: The case came in 100% shape, Nicely packed in the box. This case looks sweet, Built very nice, Power Supply is put together very well. Wires have a nice Pro look to them. The window on the side is sweet, With the blue lights inside glowing out...

Cons: None so far...

Other Thoughts: Make sure when you pick out this case you get a "MICRO" motherboard to fit it.... It's a small case, Micro size.....
