1 out of 5 eggsGood with APU and nothing else

Pros: Small, stylish, nice instructions, came with wire grommet

Cons: The PSU as stated before is garbage. Mine lasted a week. Mini ITX PSUs and 1U server PSUs fit, but are expensive.

This item is specified as supporting a low profile PCI-E card up to 55mm but it doesn't. Low profile brackets rise ABOVE the height where the case can close. Discrete video cards WILL NOT FIT in this case. So if you plan on using a dedicated video card, not only will they be too high, you also won't be able to fit a double width card inside.

That being said, make sure you use a processor with integrated graphics. That PCI-E is most likely for any PCI-E card that isn't for graphics, say a Serial port or anything else. You'll have to remove the bracket because even low profile brackets don't fit.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this unless you have a spare 1U/Mini-ITX PSU available, or unless you're totally okay having this be open top to fit a video card or MicroATX PSU inside of.

Manufacturer Response:

You can do an RMA through us for the power supply to get an exchange on the PSU if you are still under our warranty period. You can contact Apevia's customer service at service@apevia.com or call at (909) 718-0789. We try to reply to all calls and e-mails as soon as we can

2 out of 5 eggsDecent case, terrible PSU

Pros: The case has a nice design and has a no-frills design. It includes a nice guide and enough instructions to get the header panel wired in.

Cons: The power supply is garbage. Crapped out on me in days. I wasn't running it even remotely close to its limit: 1 m2 ssd, 1 stick of ram, a 53w processor.

1 out of 5 eggsBait, Poor Design and Heats Up

Pros: The only thing is it's small form factor.

Cons: Took a chance with this case because of rebate, but never got the rebate (BAITED)!!! Now to the design of the case, which is OK for Small Form Factor. I was able to fit everything in, but that is about all it got going for it. Within 15 min of using, even when turning the fan to "normal", it starts to heat up. Now there is a heating and loud fan noise. If you put the fan to "silent", then it will heat up much quicker than the 15 minutes. The location of the HD is literally sitting on top of Power Supply, so it is simply getting cooked!!!

Other Thoughts: If you think about getting this case to save space (which was my main purpose), DON'T. It is not worth saving just a little bit of space for the lack of expansion and future issues with other parts due to the heat. Even with the rebate, but since I did not get the rebate back, I feel even more cheated.

Manufacturer Response:

To check the status of your Mail-in Rebate, please send an e-mail to rebate@apevia.com stating your name, address, the name of the store where you purchased the item, what you purchased, the rebate amount and the rebate period. We have a 10-12 week processing period on our rebates which starts from when we receive the rebate.

1 out of 5 eggsPSU is no good

Pros: Very small case.

Cons: The case needed more thought to the layout and the location of componets. Needed just a little bit more room in the height, maybe 1/8 or 1/4 inch more.
POWER SUPPLY is best described by a word I'm not allowed to use here. Fan started whining at about 10 minutes of use and shut down after about another hour or so. If you must have this case, buy an aftermarket PSU with the case.

4 out of 5 eggsI like it

Pros: Well build metal box. Small in size, smaller than my cable box actually. It is great as a media PC, which is really its intended use. I have mine sitting on top of my cable box, and it functions very well as my DVD and access to Netflix etc. MiniITX allows some flexability in processor, so your PC will not be limited to the ATOM style M/B's.

Cons: Power supply is suspect. I read a lot of reviews, and decided to swap it out during the build for the FSP220-60LE which has been rock solid. Then again, you shouldn't really buy a case for the P/S, so I don't view as a big con.

Other Thoughts: Case could be about 1/2' taller w/o making it much bigger and it would allow for more flexability in expanding, as any card you add MUST be under 55mm to get the lid back on. I also added a small (40mm) fan and the biggest low profile CPU cooler/fan combo, so for me, cooling has never been an issue. If u want to build a PC and have it as small as possible, this is it. You are never going to turn this into a gaming rig, but it wasn't made to be one. It's a media PC case, and as that, I think it is pretty good.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It is very small.

Cons: It seems to be too small for most everything. The powersupple is very noisey and fails quickly.

1 out of 5 eggsCheap and poorly made

Pros: None - have one sitting on the shelf that I have no practical use for

Cons: The power supply uses a very tiny fan. Does not move enough air to keep it cool in the best of conditions. Spot to add a case fan is not a standard size and it is really hard to find one to fit it. Rattles a lot not very sturdy

1 out of 5 eggsBad Power Supplies

Pros: Compact size

Cons: Add an extra $55 to the price of this case, the power supply WILL FAIL.
We are Point of Sale software developers and like this case because of its size.
We have installed over 50 of these and ALL the power supplies have failed.
So we throw away the original power supply before ever deploying the unit and replace it with a FSP Group FSP220-60LE power supply, the replacement Apevia power supply is just as big of pile of junk as the ones that ships with it.
The moment we find another case of the same size Apevia NO MORE.

1 out of 5 eggsLow-profile cards won't fit!

Pros: Very compact.

Cons: Too compact - they could have made it 1/4" taller and been able to fit standard low-profile cards. Why they have a knock-out that you can't put a standard low-profile card into is beyond me. DO NOT BUY THIS CASE IF YOU WANT TO USE A LOW-PROFILE CARD!

Other Thoughts: Case has holes on back that wifi antenna (2) could use without drilling. Power supply fan a bit noisy (not suitable for a very quiet room). Side-to-side ventilation

2 out of 5 eggsGreat Until The Power Supply Fan Sounds Like A Jet Engine

Pros: Small Size
Somewhat Easy To Assemble

Cons: Great until the fan starts to wind up like an airplane ready to take off. Doesn't fit half height cards like it should (extends beyond the lid so you can't screw it down. Look for other alternatives that might cost a little more.
