3 out of 5 eggsPretty, but not optimized

This review is from: APEVIA X-PLORER2 Series X-PLORER2-RD Black/Red Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: The case is very pretty, and it comes with a few fans, which is nice. I bought the case mainly because of its aesthetics.

Cons: Doesn't have much space inside, had to jam things tight. Only managed one fan on the top of the case, as several others have also noticed. The case would fit 2 fans on top, but with a motherboard in, cables and pieces of the board block one spot. This may only be a problem with full ATX motherboards, which mine is. Overall, very cramped inside.

3 out of 5 eggs80%

This review is from: APEVIA X-PLORER2 Series X-PLORER2-RD Black/Red Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Inexpensive
Mostly well constructed

Cons: The large fan is useless. The connector is not only so cheap that the pins push out the back, but they were miswired. The fan is 12v, but the leads were in the 24v position. The fan worked once and then stopped, presumably because of the miswired connector burning up the coils.

Other Thoughts: The side fan is not a necessity, so I'd say its still a decent box for the price. That being said, if there is one place where they cut corners, are there others?

Manufacturer Response:

You can do an RMA through us for the side fan to get an exchange on it if you are still under our warranty period. You can contact Apevia's customer service at service@apevia.com or call at (909) 718-0789. We try to reply to all calls and e-mails as soon as we can.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: APEVIA X-PLORER2 Series X-PLORER2-RD Black/Red Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: This tower is great I love it :) has plenty of room plenty of air flow and easy to build inside of.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Not really a con but the 220mm fan didn't work so ordered another one, after all fans can be bad from the get go.

5 out of 5 eggsThis case is awesome!

This review is from: APEVIA X-PLORER2 Series X-PLORER2-RD Black/Red Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: The case is well built, the fans and temperature gauge work perfectly.

The manufacturer includes a helpful manual and extra screws that you may need.

Even though I chose super egg saver shipping it arrived in less than two days.

Cons: None so far.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Mid-Size ATX

This review is from: APEVIA X-PLORER2 Series X-PLORER2-RD Black/Red Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: -Sturdy Case
-Metal Construction
-Decent 200mm fan
-Great cooling (cpu temp roughly 15f cooler)
-Grate on top is great for ventilation
-CPU temp gauge works as intended
-Arrived in perfect condition
-All intended tools and parts were present

Cons: -A tad cramped inside
-Grate on top is NOT DESIGNED for fan installation (though it can be done)
-Did not come with thermal tape for cpu temp gauge

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for, and this case definitely isn't a bad buy. The unique side window and front panel make for a nice flare without being too gaudy.

The opening on top is a nice touch and is a great help with ventilation, but trust me when I say this feature is not designed with additional fans in mind. You can squeeze one fan up there but fitting two (which I had intended) proved to be impossible.

I think I can say that so far I'm very happy with this purchase and I would definitely buy an Apevia case again.

Manufacturer Response:

You can fit up to two 120mm case fans in the top vent.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome looking case, little small.

This review is from: APEVIA X-PLORER2 Series X-PLORER2-RD Black/Red Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Very shiny (slightly sparkly) bezel. Has a very nice temperature sensor. The fan has a very cool glow to it and adds a nice touch to the final product and does a very nice job at lighting up the build.

Cons: No real cons, you have to open the door to access anything you put in to the 5.25" / 3.5" bays.

Other Thoughts: You can see the hard drives in the bays from the window.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT CASE!!

This review is from: APEVIA X-PLORER2 Series X-PLORER2-RD Black/Red Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: The airflow in this case is amazing, my cpu and gpu stay cool and the lcd monitor on the front panel works perfectly. The case itself looks amazing and it's made from pretty sturdy material. Everything works and I would definitely recommend this case to everyone!!

Cons: Like someone else mentioned, the case doesn't come with thermal tape to hold the thermal sensor into the fins of the cpu's heatsink, which is very minor. Besides that, no other cons so far, I really enjoy the case.

Other Thoughts: My build is a Biostar TA970XE motherboard with an AMD 6300 6-core processor and an HIS IceQ Turbo AMD Radeon HD 7850 gpu and 16 GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR3 RAM and a 630 Watt RX-630SS power supply unit. Since the psu is mounted on the bottom of the case and has an upward blowing fan, it conveniently adds a little extra cooling to my 7850 gpu which is about 2 or 3 inches above the psu, and so does the 200mm side fan, which comes about an inch from the side of my gpu, so the extra cooling for my gpu is nice since I have it overclocked to 1.5 Ghz from its stock 1 Ghz. Overall, the entire case stays super cool, even after an hour of intense gaming my system temps are superb and case itself feels cool to the touch. I'm very pleased with the product, especially for the price.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Mid-Tower Case

This review is from: APEVIA X-PLORER2 Series X-PLORER2-RD Black/Red Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: - Quiet
- Efficient cooling setup
- Drive bay can be removed for long graphics cards
- The colored portion of the front bezel is easy to remove and paint ( or replace through Apevia's customer support, they responded to me within a few hours of sending an email; replacement not related to quality )
- The fans are installed initially out of the box ( may be a con to some )

Cons: - No thermal tape included to connect the thermal probe to the heatsink
- ( Minor ) Window is large enough to see part of the drive bay cage and power supply cables, looks a little ugly if you don't have a modular power supply or a low number of cables.
- Door covering front drives can't be propped open when a CD tray is out and has a tendency to open with small bumps.
- Depending on how your SATA connectors are arranged on a motherboard and whether or not you're working with a full size ATX, it can be a tight fit for the connectors themselves.
- All the fans use molex connectors

Other Thoughts: The cons I listed are minor to me and I enjoyed working with the case. The case also suffered an accidental fall of approximately 4 ft without damage.

5 out of 5 eggsApevia X-Plorer2

This review is from: APEVIA X-PLORER2 Series X-PLORER2-RD Black/Red Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Easy installation of MB, drives, etc. Awesome look with the glowing 200 mm side case fan in red LED. The temp gage and front name plate glow in blue.

I've only had this system up and running for a month, and as I have said before, I am looking for reliability and quality, and only time will tell this.

Cons: Not a lot of clearance for a large cooler. Did fit a 92mm Noctua NH-U9B SE2 cooler with a little less than 1/2" from cooler to side case fan. ( you could always remove the side fan and get about 1 more inch in clearance ) By the time I had three drives, the cpu cooler, all three case fans, etc, hooked up, it was a bit cramped in there, mostly with cable management. I was aware that I was not buying a very large case due to my desktop space limitations. Plus I love the look of this case. The temp gage seems to read off by about 6 degrees than what the computer reports - this is no surprise. It was a bit hard to break the internal metal shielding in the drive bays loose for drive installation.

Other Thoughts: Please don't let the cons push you away by any means, unless you just need a bigger case for more goodies. All-in-all, it is a great case.
