5 out of 5 eggsGood Case W/ Some Concerns

This review is from: APEVIA X-TROOPER Series X-TRP-BL Black/Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: -Good Airflow
-Solid build
-Looks Nice when LED's are on
-Swappable Drives
-Lots of Drive Space
-Decent Cable Management

Cons: -Tight Space for larger graphics cards
-Collects dust with 200mm fan turned on

Other Thoughts: For when I bought this it was a great case. But Graphics Cards have gotten larger. I recently put a Asus Radeon R9 280, 11.2" X 5.7", in this thing but had to remove the side fan in order for the power cables to fit. The Card is so large that it nearly touches the 3.5" bays. I will not be able to run Crossfire because the amount of space is just not enough because the Swappable Drive Bays below the 3.5" bays stick out to far. Remember though this is a Mid-ATX. I was able to fit only one card because the 3.5" bays are pushed in further than where the other card would go and that is the only reason. I will not deduct anything away from this case because I have had it for 2 years and it was a good case for a build 2 years ago. I think it may be time to upgrade to something that has more space. I love the Mid-ATX, fits perfect on my desk, but it might be time to consider a full tower with how large graphics cards have gotten. Even Nvidia cards are around 10-11 inches for the more powerful ones on the market today. If you are planning on buying this case just be aware that modern graphics cards that push 11 inches will might not fit in this, the card I picked fits with absolutely 0 room to spare, not more that 2 millimeters at least, and I removed the Side Fan, which was a pretty decent intake fan, without a second intake on the front I would not reccomend this case if you are choosing larger graphics cards.

4 out of 5 eggsAPEVIA X-TROOPER Series X-TRP-BL Black/Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

This review is from: APEVIA X-TROOPER Series X-TRP-BL Black/Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: + Removable back plate with rubber grommets to hide wiring
+ Plenty of room inside
+ Fan covers/filters for power supply
+ Lights (even though I replaced them with red)
+ You do not need to remove panel to install 5.25" drives

Cons: - (some what of a con) It was not described, that I read anyway, that there was a blue led strip along the top of the tower. This is great if you want the tower to be blue, however I replaced all the blue fans with red, and was unaware of the blue LED strip on the top. Anyway, con for me, might be a pro for someone else.

- When you are taking the front panel off, please note that it is very difficult. At one point I really thought I was going to break it getting the darn thing off. One pro of this though is that you dont ever need to take it off unless you want to get to the fans. You can install 5.25" drives in it with the panel still attached. So, pro for some, con for me.

- The side 200mm fan. Please note that if you replace it like I did you will have to modify the new fan. This case has about a half-inch plastic wedge that the screws attach to and goes INSIDE the 200mm fan. I had to grind off four sections of my new fan to get it to fit, and even then it wasn't perfect. But, once again, if you dont plan on replacing this fan, this might be a pro. While its a pain to replace, at least the original fan fits in there like a glove!

Other Thoughts: The reason why I replaced the fans was because a couple months ago when I quoted this product for a customer of mine he wanted the red version of it that they offered. When I got the okay to place the order the only version they had in stock was the black and blue. I thought, "Oh, okay. No big deal. Just swap the fans and that will be all." My $20 fix turned out to be a headache with grinding parts down and taking panels off, only to find out that there was a blue LED in the top that I was unaware of.

If you are looking for a great case that doesnt need to be modified take this one. If you want to add your own stuff to it you might want to get another. All in all thought, great case!

5 out of 5 eggsFair case

This review is from: APEVIA X-TROOPER Series X-TRP-BL Black/Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Cool lights, sturdy case, like the big fan, great air flow.

Cons: if you go for an after market cooler be-warned that the large fan might now fit. Another thing is that removing the bottom cage is not ment to remove :( but i removed it anyways with some force.

Other Thoughts: like the lights, gets annoying if they are in eye sight.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case, Low Price, Lots of fans/cooling

This review is from: APEVIA X-TROOPER Series X-TRP-BL Black/Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: - great airflow
- 200mm fan is right above the video card and CPU
- quiet (with this many fans, I thought it would sound like a fleet of helicopters; instead, it runs so quiet I wouldn't know its on except the LEDs)
- all fans have a good power cable length which made cable management a lot easier than I initially thought

Cons: - top bay unusable due to USB and SATA cables
- cable management gets a little creative due to the top, front USB & SATA cables and 200mm fan (if you take your time, you should be able to get everything situated well)
- LEDs are very bright (great for lighting a dark room; definitely don't recommend using this case in a bedroom as those LEDs are piercing)
- power supply sits on the bottom

Small gripe but the power supply generates a fair amount of heat, it would be nice to have it sit at the top so the heat is exhausted up and away from the MOBO and video card (which it sits right below)

Other Thoughts: With a Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz processor, accompanying fan & heatsink, and no OC, this stays plenty cool.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat,good looking but,not big enough?

This review is from: APEVIA X-TROOPER Series X-TRP-BL Black/Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: It's good looking like a transformer lol it's roomy..somewhat and has good wire management.

Cons: It wouldn't fit my CPU cooler! I had to remove the side fan I actually haven installed the mobo and the collet yet but setting the cooler in by itself you couldn't even put the side back on

Other Thoughts: If it was a little bigger to hold things with the side fan i would have given 5 stars

4 out of 5 eggsGood, but....

This review is from: APEVIA X-TROOPER Series X-TRP-BL Black/Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Great airflow. 4 front USB slots is pretty great

Cons: Side fan clearence...

Other Thoughts: Great case, but bought a Cooler Master Hyper 212 with it and it wouldn't fit, even after removing the side fan. One of the spots where the side fan screws in bumps into it. Big enough issue to take an egg off.

4 out of 5 eggsYou don't need a full tower

This review is from: APEVIA X-TROOPER Series X-TRP-BL Black/Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: This is a well built case with the ability to keep your system cool without having to start up your jet engines. Next, the manufacturing specifications are spot on and trustworthy as I found out installing my 660Ti. There are a ton of fans right out of the box that do not require a compatible motherboard.

Cons: Cable management isn't exactly straight forward. I would have appreciated a little guidance, or any really, with the installation instructions. The front panels aren't always very easy to get out but stick with it, they do come out as you would expect. Finally, there are no front USB 3.0 ports, disappointing.

Other Thoughts: You have to put thought into cable management but once you do, this box shines. You could definitely update the fans if you wanted but not necessary.
