5 out of 5 eggsgreat for beginners

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-BL Black / Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: this case was my first build and i have no prior experience with builds but i researched a lot before i bought this case and for how cheap this case is has a lot of features and is good for budget builds i had no trouble at all and the temperature gauge seems to be accurate and the leds are brighter then i expected

Cons: wire management isnt terrible or bad but i wouldnt say it was good either though the fan connectors break and the actual connections are very loose but they still work

3 out of 5 eggsFans + Molex?

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-BL Black / Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Everything fits just right; all connectors necessary available. 5 fans - plenty of airflow. Quiet

Cons: Fans - they suck with terrible Molex connectors - who the heck uses those anymore when most Z87 has plenty of available headers? As it is, no ability to have fan control. I'll probably go out and get some Molex-header adapters. Oh, and as others have posted, the Molex connectors are poorly made. Drive connections have to done upside down (i.e. SATA and SATA power on the bottom). Apevia needs to include 90 degree SATA cables, not standard straight cables.

Other Thoughts: HIGHLY SUGGESTED: If you are installing an optical or more 5.25" drives into the box (top rails), do that first! If not, the MB will restrict installing and you'll end up having to take the MB back out.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case with tricky Hard drives

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-BL Black / Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Plenty of Fans. The fans are super quiet I can hardly hear them. Temperature sensor is cool looking and helpful. sleek optical drive bays.looks cool. The case power and peripheral cables were already routed neatly where most motherboards would have the connections.

Cons: Took me a while to figure out the hard drives because the sATA and power cable was in the way of the side panel. When I resolved the issue I realized how stupid I was for taking that long to figure it out. Hard drives fit so no negative eggs. Need to be smart about cable management otherwise the cables will obstruct a fan.

Other Thoughts: to hook up the hard drive properly with the quick mounts. just install the mounting sticks on the hard drive so that when you slide it in the cable connectors are facing the other side of the case. kinda sucks to have to open the other side panel to install hard drives but it help with cable management.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good chasis

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-BL Black / Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Looks really good, interesting window design, LCD works well and it easy to change, panels are solid and not warped, comes with five fans, easy to set up, nice price.

Cons: Power button has a tendency to stick but has stopped after about a month of use, Molex connectors for fans are absolutely awful and prone to breaking and are hard to connect, cable management could be better, only one USB 3 port but it's not really a con, screws come in one bag and are not labelled.

Other Thoughts: Overall this is a very good case for the price. It looks neat and stylish, and the fact that it comes with five silent fans is great. I had a very easy time getting everything set up and the whole thing just feels rather solid except for the awful molex connectors that came with the stock fans. The airflow is good and everything does run cooler in this case than my last one, the name of which escapes me. Beware that the power button does stick though so make sure to slide your finger over the button immediately after turning it on to make sure that the power button is not stuck; it did stop sticking for me after about a month of use. I also wish they would have labeled the screws rather than just having them all thrown in a small bag, as some of the screws are way too similar and it does result in confusion and annoyance. Good case for the price, I am very happy with it.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent case

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-BL Black / Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Lots of fans
Case has marking to let you know where to place set screws for your motherboard
Quite

Cons: I have 3 SATA hard drives and was unable to close the side panel due to the cables sticking out further than the case. When the hard drives are installed with no cables attached, they were flush with case but add the cables (unless you get very flat cables) you can not put the side panel back on. I had to cut the mounting rails in half, which barely secures the hard drives, in order to attach cables and close the case. Granted I have the stock cables that come with the hard drives.

Manufacturer Response:

The hard drives mount backwards, meaning that the power plugs would connect from the opposite side of the case.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Case

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-BL Black / Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Nice design, Light weight, decent price.

Cons: poor molex connectors, cheap power and reset buttons.

Other Thoughts: The case overall is quite nice but its the little details that make it lose an egg. While connecting the front panel display, the molex connectors came out. A simple fix by pushing them back in with a screw driver but still a pain none the less. Another issue is the power and reset buttons like to stick because they are cheaply made. Other than those minor annoyances its still a solid case.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the money

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-BL Black / Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Overall a sturdy case!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Maybe add a way to change the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit... for the people not knowing Celsius.

Manufacturer Response:

You can actually change the readout from Celsius to Fahrenheit. There is a small black switch on the back of the display that changes the reading. You'd have to remove the front panel to get to it, though. It's screwless, so it should come off relatively easily.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Tower

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-BL Black / Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: This is a great case, I am very happy and when I was putting it all together in my IT class, the other students were impressed. (Thanks). Plenty of room for drives and the five(5) fans, wow. Very quite. the opportunity to add the SSD and the Hot Swap bay is a plue to do the Backups of my files.

Cons: Cons: Molex connectors are of rather low quality on the fans. Had two of the wire's pop out of the connector. Could not use the 200mm fan as the cooler (coolermaster 212plus) was standing taller than I thought and could not put the side on.

Other Thoughts: had to lose an egg on the wiring, sorry.

4 out of 5 eggsOverall..very good

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-BL Black / Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Good design
Lots and lots of flush mount fans
quiet fans
Lots of room for gear
clear motherboard mounting guides
Hidden dock up front for plugging in an internal ide drive

Cons: The case is pre-wired to hook up all of the internal fans. However, the only con I have found is that the power connectors (four pin, large type) were of low quality. The pins were a bit large, too wobbly, and poorly tipped. So they were tough to get into the female end. They all worked eventually, but they were poorly manufactured.

Other Thoughts: This came with a sub $1000 I5 bundle. Consider the overall price, this case was very very good.

5 out of 5 eggsONE (1) USB3 port??

This review is from: APEVIA X-DREAMER4 Series X-DREAMER4-BL Black / Blue Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Note: I have purchased so many cases from Apivia (from Newegg) through the years I have lost count. My current unit has the older X-Dreamer black and it's great. Great cases, and X-Dreamer is one of my favs. I have another order coming up and was reviewing the cases, especially the X-Dreamer. I have not purchased this yet but I will from Newegg. I never had one complaint from any clients on look and performance. Now...see Cons below.

Cons: Apevia, why, oh why, did you provide one (1) USB3 port and two USB2's??? You are in the industry - you know that USB2 is on its way out. Next year is will be extinct. What is your reasoning on this?
Come on, Apevia. Wake up and smell the coffee. I would like to use this case, but I can't provide outdated technology to my clients.
