4 out of 5 eggsSolid case, bad guages

Pros: Solidly built overall (except gauges.)
5 fans help rid case of heat (fiance` has it on 24/7.)
Lots of room to add what ever you need.

Cons: Gauges stopped working over the course of the first 3 months. She doesn't use them, but I would still expect them to work.

Other Thoughts: Strange that the light dimming is in conjunction with the adjustable fan speed.

Manufacturer Response:

You can do an RMA through us for the gauges to get an exchange on them if you are still under our warranty period. You can contact Apevia's customer service at or call at (909) 718-0789. We try to reply to all calls and e-mails as soon as we can.

4 out of 5 eggsObnoxious in the best way

Pros: - Pink
- Great ventilation/lots of built-in fans
- plenty of HD slots if you decide to set up a RAID
- very, very pink
- temperature gauge is handy

Cons: - Outer coating scratches fairly easily, but that's easy enough to take care of with some stickers
- red lights & side fan make the box seem Valentines-y. It would be nice if other colours were available
- not a whole lot of extra space inside for a watercooler hook-up if cables aren't detachable.
- cable management is more difficult than it should be
- Front USB cable is a bit short
- Can't put PCI slot covers back on once they're off

Other Thoughts: It's a great starter box for anyone wanting to get into custom computer building without too much advanced knowledge. Some things could be better, like USB cable length but overall it's good for what it is. I'm very happy with it, & will be first in line if Apevia ever comes out with a brighter or girlier version.

5 out of 5 eggsPurpose: Gaming - Status: Grown-A Woman

Pros: -Cute bubblegum pink (see second photo; also looks better in person)
-No odd, out-of-place shapes--it's a nice design, very symmetrical, sleek and sharp
-FIVE pre-installed fans with matching red/pinkish LED lights (none of that blue shiitake mushrooms)
-Lots of ventilation
-USB ports in the front and back
-Gauges on the front light-up red, but look like pinkish cherries
-Can fit moderate to most advanced gaming components

Cons: -It's impossible to make the cables look neat within the case
-My large graphics card disallows me from using the side-panel fan
-It's slightly difficult to maneuver cables around and install some components

Other Thoughts: Most people would probably dock an egg for the cons I mentioned, but I'm not going to.

Let me tell you why:

If you're like me, a grown woman who is obsessed with pink and everything cute, you probably want a pink computer.

However, if you're also a gamer, like myself, you can't just buy any pink computer case. It has to meet standards for gameplay optimization.

Sadly, we are not catered to as of yet in the gaming industry, so our options are limited. The fact that this case is all-pink and not an atrocity to the eyes, has a lot of fans, good ventilation, and enough space for high-end components, makes this case THEE BEST by default.

Therefore, what would be the point of docking an egg if you can't get a pink case that's any better without making/customizing it yourself? W3RD.

There are a couple other pink Apevia cases that are comparable in terms of component-compatibility, but this one looks the best in my opinion.

4 out of 5 eggsQuality Case - Awesome Design

Pros: When I opened it up and looked it over, swinging open the front door, popping off the cover, and monkey'n with it.... overall it struck me a quality case. The metal is firm, powder-coating is uniform, pink colors are vivid

Comes with a ton of fans! Two on the top, one on the back, one on the front, and one that lights up on the side panel. Vents on the bottom and top so you can get great airflow up and out the case. All the wires on the fans can be daisy-chained so you don't have to worry about consuming all your plugs just for fans.

The door seems firm, swings smoothly, and not flimsy at all. The layout behind the door is clean and uniform. I like the USB on top of the front panel instead of behind the door. Power / Reset are inside but that's OK; don't use them as often. The hinge on the door is interesting; it's like a telescoping cover... subtle and trick.

The gauges on the front look sweet. They are kinda retro / steam punk. Love the overall design with it's sharp lines.

Cons: Very minor difference in pink color between front panel and case; barely noticeable.

Wiring inside is a bit of a SNAFU. There's just a TON of wires between the 5 fans, 4 gauges, front panel, and USB ports. Good luck trying to do some acceptable wire management. I didn't like how they combined some cables like USB 2 and 3 so if you aren't using USB 3 you have this huge blue cable that dangles there and nothing you can do about it since the UBB 2 cable only has a 1" lead off it.

Thankfully it's for a 10 y/o girl and she won't care. However it does have a transparent panel so the idea is to show off your setup. Yet the way the cables are combined and put into the case aren't really conducive to this idea.

Other Thoughts: Honestly... I kind of wanted one myself even though it's pink! It's a very excellent compromise of price, function, and design. All three are in a good spot but not 5 stars on all of them or any one of them. That's why I gave it 4 out of 5.

If they had done the wiring better... 5 out of 5.

4 out of 5 eggsLooks great, runs well, but setup is a pain.

Pros: The case is one of the few with this color. Front gauges are red-lit, which is useful for all-nighters - red doesn't interfere with sleep. Fans run quiet and well, and there's a lot of them. The matte plastic front looks nice, going with the color, while the rest of it is metal. The inclusion of a USB 3.0 port, as well as a fan speed controller is welcome.

Cons: The paint on the metal portion is easily scratched. Metal tabs blocking PCI-E slots are break-off, not modular. Fans and wires feel flimsy. Both sides of the case must be opened for installing components, as I found that hard drives must go in the right side, facing the front, and many of the cables have to run though the (very narrow) right side.

User manual has low-resolution black and white photos with poor contrast - hard to tell what is being shown in the images.

Other Thoughts: Once set up, it is functional and with form that I have not seen elsewhere.
As a first-time build, I like it, but most people will need to make sure you have access to outside help while setting it up if you're a new builder.

4 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Roomy - I had enough extra width to install a light strip at the top without obstructing the side panel mounts or top fan mounts. I could probably add another with room to spare as well.
It's also relatively lightweight, without feeling flimsy or having sharp edges. Then again, my own machine is a beast, so my perspective might not be worthwhile here.
There is also an unexpected storage bonus; if you like, you can have 4 standard hard drives and an SSD mounted in this without any extra hardware. There's a spot on the bottom of the HDD bays for the SSD to be mounted on the bottom without interfering with a drive in what would otherwise be the lowest spot.
Black interior.

Cons: The front panel is extremely difficult to get off - it's a standard clip type, but it just refuses to come off easily. Unfortunately, there is no other way to get to the front fan if you should, say, want to replace it with a larger one, or just replace it in general if it goes bad.
The included lighting is not nearly enough to get the case looking like the first picture - if you want that you'll have to replace basically every fan but the 200mm with an LED fan, and maybe add some extra lighting. I just added the strip to up the lighting a bit - I don't need it to be visible from miles away. The fans I added or replaced were not LED.
The power/reset buttons are behind the door. Not ideal. Also, if you have any plans for expansion cards or water cooling, better hope they're permanent - the case uses punch-out for these options.

Other Thoughts: The documentation wasn't too clear on the fan mounts, so I thought I'd shed some light on it.
6-7 fan mounts total
1x 200mm side / 2x 120mm (mounted: 200mm included)
3x 140mm / 3x 120mm (1x front, 2x top) (mounted: 3x 120mm included)
2x 120mm (1x bottom, 1x rear) (not included)
In a standard configuration (front/side intake, rear/top exhaust) a build with all fans at maximum size will yield slightly positive air pressure.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's Huge

Pros: Everything fits. I got a $20 rebate on it. Looks cool for my GF.

Cons: The front Headset Jack gives me static sound. The metal inserts for the graphic cards can't be reattached once they are off.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than expected

Pros: The case feels durable even with sides removed, the front cover is very solid and the plastic feels heavy and durable, especially at the hinge points.

There are plenty of cable tie anchor points on the backboard to keep your cable dressing looking clean and the screw holes line up well requiring no force or torque to get things to fit.

The top two fan openings can accommodate two 140mm, and there are openings on the bottom for two 120mm. I played with the idea of replacing the case feet to give myself a couple inches of clearance and bottom mounting two 120's to force more air into the power supply and case. Instead I will just move one 120mm provided fan from the top to the bottom inside the case and just enjoy the extra venting for the power supply without an addition of a fan.

Cons: The only con I have for this case is more related to the product images for the case. It's hard to tell the exact color of the case until you unpack it. If you google FF99CC , that is the approximate color of the case. There is no metallic or reflective quality to the finish, it's what painters would call an eggshell finish.

This is not Newegg's fault since they use provided product images and hopefully my review will help people make an informed decision.

Other Thoughts: FF99CC is the color code for actual finish tint.

Fan Openings: (2) 140mm
(3) 120mm
(1) 200mm

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Sturdy steel construction
-USB 3.0 on the top panel.
-side facing, rail mounted hard drive bays. I hate front facing hard drives where you have to pull the front of the case off or fight for room pushing them in place around cables/videocards etc.
-Black painted interior
-2 large fan mounts up top for a potential radiator up to 240mm.
-5 included fans with a speed controler on the top panel. One ginormous fan on the window that gives great top down cooling to the entire motherboard.
-LOTS of space for watercooling (may have to do that someday...

Cons: -Pepto pink... but hey, she loves it, and it matches 90% of the rest of the stuff she owns.
-Power/Reset buttons are behind the front door.
-Side panel fan has some motor noise.
-Lower drive bay rivited in so removing it would take some doing.
-USB and Front panel audio cables could be longer. Had to run the FPA cable over the motherboard.
-The dials on the front are so hard to read they are practically useless.

Other Thoughts: Great case. I usually build my cases, but if I ever have to buy another, this is definately an option!
