3 out of 5 eggsDaisy-chain not possible

Pros: Sharp looking

Cons: Cannot connect the fan(s) to front panel guage or speed control. The wiring has a two pin female molex where there should be a male making it impossible to complete any chain. Because of this, the fan speed control and guage are completely useless.

Manufacturer Response:

You would attach the female plug to the remaining male connector when you daisy chain the fans together. They would not plug into the power supply directly.

5 out of 5 eggsSo much room for activities!

Pros: Roomy. I like the clip to remove the front drive bays, very classy.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I have never had a case with the power supply slot on the bottom. It took much arcane voodoo to get cables to reach.

The side mount HDD bays are a very tight fit. I had a dead power supply that had elbow sata power adapters so I spliced that onto some molex and thought I was good. Even with the adapter from a corsiar 650tx-c it was still too big to get the side panel on. I ended up setting the HDD on the bottom of the external drive bay. the power adapter I tried to use is 15mm deep. I also had to use an extender for the main power cable. Be sure you have the cable to support the type of case.

3 out of 5 eggsApevia X-Cruiser Case

Pros: The visual look of the case is dramatic if you like bright red LEDs on the front and side panel. The case has great air flow supporting up to 5 120mm fans and one 200mm fan on the side panel. 5 fans are included with case and they are quiet. All the panel gauges and controls work as advertised.

Cons: The steel used in the case is thin and light. The construction of the 3.5 drive cage is questionable since it sits so close to the left access panel that there is no room to attach the sata and power connectors to the hard drive (since drive faces the side panel), so I had to use an adapter and mount the 3.5 inch drive in 5.25 inch drive bay. Not cool! Bad design or construction. Those 3.5 inch bays can only be used for 2.5 drives (with mount adapter). The fans are quiet but air output is rather low. These are not Power Management fans, so you can't tell the revolutions but I guess they run about 1000 RPM. Seems Apevia put a lot of resources into fans and gauges and cut back on other components.

Other Thoughts: The case looks good, but it is definitely a 'Value' type case for budget builders. For about the same price, other cases like the mid-range HAF 912 offers better quality case construction but less fans.

5 out of 5 eggsBeauty & The Beast

Pros: 1. HUGE IMPROVEMENTS over Cruiser 2 Series.
2. Power supply is now bottom mounted.
3. Huge Side Panel Fan for direct airflow over your GPU and CPU.
4. Comes with 2 LED 120mm, 2 black 120mm and 1 huge 240mm LED fan pre-installed and all fans are whisper quite.
5. Full cable routing support on all areas surrounding the motherboard. Love this one because the last series was a joke in this department.
6. Integrated Fan Controller with support for upto 5 fans in series.
7. Integrated Audio Meter.
8. Integrated Temperature Sensor. Not the most accurate but if you place it below your CPU heat sink, you will get a good reading with margin of error of +-5 degrees.
9. Cannot stress this one enough. It is really gorgeous. Very flashy yet extremely functional.
11. All required screws and accessories included. Zip ties included as well.
10. With a rebate, you are only paying $50 for this. A separate fan controller alone costs $15+.

A MUST BUY. Apevia is now doing things right.

Cons: Not really a con but if you are too picky or perfectionist, you might find that the routing holes for the 3 or 4 pin CPU power cable above the motherboard are a little small. Not a big deal if you remove the top left fan, route your CPU cable or other cables from that area the way you want and then re-install the fan. With the fan installed, it is almost impossible to route a molex cable or 2/4 pin CPU cable.
But that small issue is not that big to not give this Beauty & The Beast 5 eggs. Nice job Apevia.

Other Thoughts: Give it a try. You will like it.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Case. 1 DOA Fan

Pros: Cooling options
Front gauges are a cool feature
USB 3.0 support

Cons: One of the 5 fans was DOA, otherwise would have been at least a 4 egg

Other Thoughts: Make sure you check the size of your components before ordering any case!

Manufacturer Response:

You can do an RMA through us for the case fan to get an exchange on it if you are still under our warranty period. You can contact Apevia's customer service at service@apevia.com or call at (909) 718-0789. We try to reply to all calls and e-mails as soon as we can.
