3 out of 5 eggsLooks can be deceiving

Pros: Nice looking case, the metal is not flimsy.

Cons: The connectors in this case are terrible, loose wires, and molex pins and sockets were loose. Also, could use more room on the side of the case to run the wiring.

4 out of 5 eggsPoor HDD mounting.

Pros: Looks sweet, seems to be enough room for what I'd like. Power supply fit perfectly, as well as my DVD burner. Still need to mount my motherboard when I receive it though.

Cons: When you mount the hard drive, you need to put it in backwards in order for the case to be able to close. This is the only flaw I've noticed SO FAR. Unless you want to keep your case open. Which is probably a dumb thing to do. But if you mount it in backwards it will fit. You just have to manipulate some cables around.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's alright

Pros: There is plenty of room IF you're not going to do anything too fancy and don't have a full ATX Mobo. The fans that come with it plug directly into molex in the PSU and there's plenty of them to move air, although you might want to flip a few to intake fans. There are two tool less 5.25" slots on top, the rest need screws, but they're easy to get to.

Cons: There's no space once you want to add onto a project. I bought a corsair H100i to overclock a Fx-6300 I had in there, but there was no were to even mount the radiator, let alone the fans. Eventually I just put the radiator in the 5.25" bay area and zip tied it in there out of site and it looks just fine. I also have a huge 11" graphics card in it as well, fit's nice but trying to fit another for SLI or CrossFire probably wouldn't work out too well. Not a lot of options for cable management either and the color scheme of the cables already in the case for the power btn, LED's and USB 3.0's is just horrible and I had to take extra time to cover them up with electrical tape or heat shrink. Than there are no filters for any of the fans so expect to clean it out regularly, especially if you're using the stock fans. The metal on the case isn't folded in some areas too which can be dangerous when say trying to loosen hard to reach screws and as it breaks loose your thumb gets sliced by the edge (I know this from experience).

Other Thoughts: This is a great case for someone who's on a budget and is a first time builder that doesn't want to do anything crazy. Even sticking decent size air cooler in it will be a challenge. I also think they should have had a choice for a clear side panel with no fan because after a while it does it annoying, at least for me. Along with that the finish on the outside can get scratched easily if not watched. The hard drive area seems a bit cramped once you get more than two in there. Once you stick in the right fans in the case too, it is really quiet and seems like they should have put PWM capable fans in there to begin with (along with some filter covers).

All in all this is a great case for the money but lacks some things where if you spend just a little more money you can get them with different cases.

4 out of 5 eggsVery attractive budget case.

Pros: Great look, great color choices and it has plenty of space for most projects. All panel switch wires and front USB wires are hidden within the backplate of the case. Five case fans, including the 22mm red glowing fan are definitely what sold me. For a good reason too, because the case stays very cool altogether.

Cons: One con that costed this review one egg from five; a wire easily came out from the power switch plug that hooks up to the mobo. Some electric tape later solved the issue but it made me feel like I bought a cheap item, but, then again, I look at this case and all those feelings go away.

3 out of 5 eggsAPEVIA X-Hermes Black/Red Computer Case ATX

Pros: Eye appeal, quality cooling fans, enough room for components and wiring.

Cons: Low end construction & material, poor HDD installation design, misleading install instructions and poor cable management.

Other Thoughts: I don't normally write a review for New Egg products and purchases because nearly 100% of purchases from New Egg meet or exceed quality and performance expected. The Apevia X-Hermes case is an exception. A 3 1/2" mechanical HDD could not be installed in the allotted internal bay. The 3 1/2" drive, when mounted in any recommended configuration, protruded beyond the case walls. The side panel could not be installed. A 3 1/2" x 5 1/4" adapter was fabricated to allow for the drive installation in a 5 1/4" bay. 2 - 2 1/2" SSD drives were easily installed in the internal HDD bay, but were also infringing/touching the side panel when the panel was installed. Overall case materials and design were much less than expected. Installing the MB and components took twice than time versus other cases purchased from New Egg in the past. I can not recommend the APEVIA X-Hermes computer case to others.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing look for the price, and great airflow

Pros: the ventalation the case comes with is great, lots of fans lights and airflow

Cons: i bit small for what i needed for i got the all in one captain240 cooler and it was everthing i could do to the the ram and radiator to fit in the case, if your going to get a liquid cooler for clocking i would recommend a full case rofl (lesson learned but still awesome :))

3 out of 5 eggsLights.

Pros: Good airflow, big space for little price, great look.

Cons: The front of the case doesn't actually glow red. And if you pop out a section in the front breaks easy.

Other Thoughts: I had replaced all of the fans that it came with out and put in same size and brand fans that glow red to match the side panel. Gives the case am even greater look. In a dark room it makes it look BA.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: It looks mean as soon as you get it out of the box. Comes with 5 fans which you can not beat at this price. Everything works great. Fits my XFX R9 280x and it is a huge card. Keeps everything cool.

Cons: Not really a con because you should expect this with a mid tower, but I had to take off the 200mm fan so I could fit in a hyper 212 evo.

2 out of 5 eggsBelow Average Quality

Pros: Price, looks

Cons: One of the wires on the molex connectors was loose and came out at some point. The wire shorted out somewhere in the case and fried my PSU.

Other Thoughts: I was originally pretty happy with this case. It looks cool, comes with a lot of fans, has some decent features, even though the quality was not the greatest. Well now I'm not so happy with it since it fried my PSU. I replaced it with a corsair carbide 500r and what a difference (air flow, fan noise, cable management, overall build quality is so much better). I will never go with a cheap off brand case again.
