Building off of the original Tempest's award winning design, the EVO brings advanced cooling power, expandability and cable management. The Tempest EVO maximizes airflow circulation with Dual 120mm intake, dual 140mm top exhaust, side 120mm, and a rear 120mm fan. NZXT even redesigned the fan blade design so that they effectively deliver more air at lower noise levels. Additionally, the bottom mounted PSU provides better airflow and separation of heat from the CPU.

The Tempest EVO puts a premium on expandability with E-ATX support allowing for compatibility with higher end graphics cards, power supplies and server boards while the server-like HDD space holds up to 8 HDDs ensuring that enthusiasts can make significant upgrades to their system without having to replace the chassis. Installation and upgrades are a breeze with pre-drilled cable routing on the motherboard allowing for a cleaner look and improved airflow. The case also features added space behind the motherboard panel from a punched side panel design that allows for easy heatsink removal. Tempest EVO is well equipped for overclocking and watercooling enthusiasts with pre-drilled watercooling tube access and support for a dual 120mm radiator at the top panel.

4 out of 5 eggsLove this case!

Pros: Very roomy.
Excellent layout.
Ease of use.
Great air flow.
Many fan mounting points.
Air filters in bottom and front.
Top vent supports large radiators.
No stupid front door!

Cons: Access to the top fan area, say to replace a fan, is cumbersome.
Like many my top fans gave out, however it took mine about four years to do so.
Not aluminum?

Other Thoughts: Not sure, but I get the impression this was a first series model for NZXT so it has a few rough spots. That said however, they're really not that bad. Some of these reviewers must be expecting a lot but it's a steel full tower budget case, there's a LOT of bang for the buck here.

The top fans did fail on mine like others have stated. Maybe I got lucky but mine lasted four years. Just get a couple of good fans to put in there and you'll be fine and not have to take it apart for a long time. That however, does bring up the bit about it being somewhat cumbersome to do so. But then, it's more of a traditional old school case in this area which is one of the things that makes me think it's a transitional model.

Some don't like the drive cage being secured by a single screw and I can understand that. However, it is very secure on mine so again maybe I got lucky?

There's plenty of air flow here and you can set it up about any way you like. The air filter on the bottom is a nice touch IMO.

I've bought three of these cases, my main gaming rig, our home server and a friend's gaming rig. All are still going strong some five years later.

It's good enough that I'm really nervous about considering another one to eventually replace it. If they made one of these in aluminum I'd pounce on it.

I would and have suggested this case without hesitation. If you want a nice, roomy case but don't want to drop three hundred on an overpriced aluminum box then consider this one!

Pros: Good airflow
Blue LEDS
Decent Price
Plenty of room

Cons: Most of the blue LEDs on the 120mm case fans went out within the first year, the fans limped by another year. The 2 140mm fans lasted roughly 2 years. I just replaced them and it was no fun task.

Other Thoughts: To replace the top fans you must unsnap the front of the tower. Once removed there are 2 screws at the top you must remove. Now you need to open up the side of the case and look up where you will see several screws holding the top of the case on. If the case was empty that would be no problem, but when you have an aftermarket heatsink and your mobo is still mounted it is difficult. When I put everything back together I only put the front mount screws back in. This is perfectly fine if you don't plan on moving your case around a lot. Also don't try to lift the case by the top piece either, which you shouldn't do even with the other screws in place.

2 out of 5 eggsTerrible

Pros: It does look snazzy.
Comes with all the fans

Cons: PCI slots were made too thin and short on my case.
PCI slots don't line up with my motherboard.
The HDD tool less system is weak and flimsy.
The HDD cages are extremely difficult to get out.
Very little cable management space for someone that does not have a modular PSU.

Other Thoughts: This case was great until I bought PCI cards for my computer, now nothing fits and I'm not happy. Because of this product, I'm no longer buying nzxt products.

3 out of 5 eggsGood not great

Pros: Lots of room, great cooling

Cons: Power button mount stinks. If you turn the power off using the button you have to press it very lightly or it will slide out of the mount rendering everything dead. This is an unacceptable fatal flaw of the case.

Other Thoughts: I have to leave the computer on for fear of having to unplug everything, take it out of my desk, take off the side panel and reseat the power switch. NZXT make the mount a little bit stronger!

5 out of 5 eggsBest case I've ever had

Pros: This case is absolutly amazing. I have the older version which has the silver interior instead of black, and it has been in use for close to 4 years now, and still looks like brand new. It has seen many builds and has stood the test of time. Even the top fans that people have issues with are still running like new. Cable management is easy and has enough space to fit my two GTX 295's with room to spare.

Cons: None for me, would buy again.

Other Thoughts: May buy another just to have the black interior, as I constantly look at my tower. Awesome case for the money.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Case but Fans Broke

Pros: The case is large, and has room for everything I have put in to it. Front panel USB ports make charging my phone and other devices very easy.

Cons: Perhaps it is only because I have used this case for so long, but the fans are giving me issues. Both fans on the top of the case do not work properly. One of them is completely stuck and will not spin at all, and the other is very loose and rattles the case when the fan speed increases due to using the processor more.

Other Thoughts: I have used this case for over 2 years now, and basically have been buying new computer components and putting them in this case. This is the first case I have actually used longer than 8 months, and it has survived a move packed in a box halfway across the world by moving companies who don't care about your stuff.

The only reason I took one egg from this case is because of the fan issues I'm having, but again I have to say it may be because I've had this case for over 2 years now and it is the longest I have ever used a case for.

2 out of 5 eggsPower button is cheaply made

Pros: Nice design on the tower. Lots of fans, good cooling properties. Easy to hide cables for a clean look. Had the case for two years now and none of the fans have burnt out.

Cons: The power button is held in by two little plastic tabs that break easily. Mine broke in about 3 months. I shut down my CPU every night to save on the electric bill but if you don't then I wouldn't really worry about it. Reset button is housed the same but has not broke yet.

Other Thoughts: I would not buy another NZXT due to the power button breaking on this one.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Case

Pros: Lots of room for cable management, vents, and so on. Sturdy for the most part and honestly feels like a good case.

Cons: The PSU I ordered mainly for a new graphics card I was getting doesn't seem compatible with the case fans. Curious if someone knew what PSU's properly work with this case and require which plugins.

Other Thoughts: Great case, just do your research ahead of time. :P
