3 out of 5 eggsIs OK

Pros: A lot of interior space, easy to work with.

Cons: Even though the spec said LED fan, well guess what, NO LED at all =(, and twice the case come in damage and bent, the second time around it was minor so i don't feel like bothering about it anymore, cuz i don't want to wait any longer for RMA.

Other Thoughts: wish the side where the motherboard would have more easy access hole for all my wiring.

5 out of 5 eggsHuge

Pros: This thing is huge I went from a tiny that barely fit my motherboard to this and now my motherboard looks tiny in it. It has good air flow once you buy more fans for it and enough room for anything.

Cons: you can't fit 200mm fans that aren't NZXT fans the holes won't line up and you'll have to screw it in.

1 out of 5 eggsWhat a nightmare

Pros: Man, what a day, not working at all it is funny that everything is working outside of case but when you install back all that motherboard, PSU, video card and fans not working at all, I am very disappointed. I end up calling EVGA, btw what a tech support from those guys. we couldnt figure out. I call them cause motherboard, PSU and video card is EVGA, I would never change that brand. Quality stuff and great service

First with though it was PSU we tested it is working then we tested motherboard and it is fine and PSU also is fine. course these tests were outside of the case. but no luck once you out back everything nada. I am returning back to newegg.

EVGA 500W PSU
EVGA Z87 FTW motherboard
EVGA GTX 570 video card
EVGA Corsair memory

Cons: First with though it was PSU we tested it is working then we tested motherboard and it is fine and PSU also is fine. course these tests were outside of the case. but no luck once you out back everything nada. I am returning back to newegg.

Other Thoughts: Nothing realy, as I explained above

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, Valued NZXT Customer

We deeply apologize for the experience at this point it seems that there is a contact within the case itself that is causing a short. In turn keeping the system from powering up so grounding issues are tricky to pin point as it can be a loose stand off or a pin connection that is loose and making contact with the case. It’s very strange to see that the system would just start up for a second then shut off after. If you could please visit our website at www.nzxt.com/support/. Once there we will need you to submit a request at the top right corner giving us a detailed description of the issue. Also you can contact us at +1-800-228-9395 for further trouble shooting.

Kind regards,
NZXT Support.

2 out of 5 eggsVery disappointed with this case

Pros: *The design
*Air flow is good
*Fan control is nice
*Enough room for upgrades

Cons: *Expansion slots don't line up
*One of the LEDs in front doesn't work
*Cable management could be a little better
*HDD trays are not easy to get the HDD inside the tray without popping out the pins

Other Thoughts: I could ignore the other problems, but i cannot ignore the fact that the expansion slots do not line up. I don't think any case should be made with such little care, this isn't a new case so i am confused why they are still even selling it with this problem. I am going to return this as soon as possible.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, Valued NZXT Customer

We are thankful for the feedback on our Phantom enthusiast case, its very strange to hear the the alignment of your expansion slots are not setting correctly. We have not heard of any reports from any other users with the same issue that being said we would happily assist you with some troubleshooting sets. In regards to the LED’s in the front not working we will happily replace those LED’s for you free of charge all we would need is an invoice on file as we base warranty off of the initial date of purchase. The clearance behind the motherboard was given about 23mm’s of clearance for cable management which was enough for enthusiasts at its time of release. It is totally dependent on the current build and placement of the adjacent cables that would totally define its quality of clearance. If the HDD is a 5.25 which most HDD’s are it should slide in easily perhaps a screw is in the way of bays themselves. None the less we are here to serve you and assist you with any questions you might have. If you would simply visit our website at www.nzxt.com/support/. At the top right you will see a submit request tab within there will have detailed information we will need to assist you further.
If you have any further questions or concerns feel free to contact us at 1-800-228-9395.

Kind Regards,

NZXT Support.

2 out of 5 eggsBetter Options Out There

Pros: I will start off by saying that I purchased this case from a different vendor, however, as I have had my current build in it for going on 3 years now, I felt obligated to write a review.

-Nice looking case (depending on your personal taste)
-Decent airflow (an included front intake fan would've made this great)
-Integrated fan controller (not a lot of cases in price range feature this)
-Plenty of room for drives (both platter and SSD)
-Will fit nearly any graphics card (I have had a EVGA GTX580 in mine, and never have space issues)
-Good cable management options

Cons: Now come the cons, a few of which, are big enough in my opinion to outweigh the pros.

-No included front intake fan (I would be hard-pressed to find a case in this price range that doesn't include a front intake fan)
-Fan options are largely restricted to NZXT brand-only fans (which are not cheap!)
-Case is a haven for thumb-prints/smudges!
-The case is advertised as having "extra room" behind the motherboard for cable management, the amount of room behind the motherboard tray is average at best.

Perhaps the biggest con for me with this case I ran into when I first purchased it, and I should have returned it. Perhaps it was my mistake for not letting the problem warn me to stay away.

When I (and others reported this same issues as well) installed my motherboard, before even attempting to install my graphics card, I could tell that the expansion slots on my motherboard did not line up correctly with the expansion slots on the case. I thought perhaps that this could be an issue with my particular model of motherboard, however, I installed a ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ board I also had and it had the same exact issue. So, in order for me to install my graphics card/sound card, I had to physically bend the dividers between the expansion slots on the case to get the card to install and seat correctly.

It is because of this somewhat terrible experience that I will be weary of purchasing an NZXT case again, and many of the people I know (lots of gamer/IT friends) also have seen this, many of whom were shocked that NZXT would sell such a product.

Other Thoughts: Please do your research before buying this case; it may seem like an extremely good deal for a full tower at this price point.

Always remember, you get what you pay for!

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, Valued NZXT Customer

We are thankful for the feedback on our phantom enthusiast case and were also thankful for being a loyal nzxt customer. We are aware that it does not come with a front intake fan this being a fact it was relied on the rest of the fans to actually exhaust the heat. In turn we do still have the 140mm fans in stock at this time. As for the case to only take our NZXT FN Fans it was released at a time which the cases schematics were set to use a selected set of model fans that being our FN series. Other models such as the FS,FX,FZ series fans have a different alignment with the screw holes for the case, Thus giving the case only the selection for the FN series fans. The smudges and thumbprints can not be helped as the outer shell is ABS plastic which was used to achieve the curves and shapes of the case. The room behind the motherboard was given about 23mm’s of clearance for cable management which was enough for enthusiasts at its time of release. In regards to the alignment with your asus motherboard we have not had any issues other issues regarding the alignment of internal hardware. Please visit our website at www.nzxt.com/support/ at the top right you will see a submit request button at which you can submit a ticket for any damaged parts free of charge. All of our cases come with a 2 year warranty from the initial date of purchase supplied with the invoice. If you have any further questions or concerns feel free to contact us at 1-800-228-9395.

Kind Regards,

NZXT Support.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this case

Pros: -SO MUCH SPACE
-Beautiful Design
-Includes its own fan control!
-Comes with 4 fans
-Durable
-Easy to open/close (thumbtack screws)

I've owned this case for about 4 years and i decided to buy another for the computer i was building for my brother. You cant go wrong with this case.

Cons: It can be too big for some people, but thats why i like it.

Other Thoughts: At $100 this is my favorite case. I'd pay $200 for it if that was what it sold for.

5 out of 5 eggsPhantom

Pros: Good cable management
The fans are quiet when they are on low
Lots of room for motherboard and high end cards
Gloss black finish is nice

Cons: The side panels take getting use to, but that really isn't a con, when you pull the top panel off it feels like it is going to break other than that it is a really good case.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid case for price

Pros: -Plenty of space
-Good cable management
-Good airflow
-Plenty of fan slots
-Easily removable front and top panels
Side notes:
The case comes with fan filters on its fan slots which is nice so you don't have to go buy any. The case also looks very nice which depending on your preference can either be extremely important or not at all.

Cons: -Case is a fingerprint magnet
-Front and top panels feel a bit cheap
Side notes:
If you are using a high end air cooler that takes up a lot of real estate in your case you will not be able to use the side 200mm fan.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this beast

Pros: *Interior space - crossfire no problem
*Cable management - lots of room behind mobo tray
*Top-mounted audio and USB
*Good airflow - heat never a problem
*Fans not loud at all - six fans and a 1000 wt ps
*Style - nothing else like it
*NZXT quality - very well-engineered

Cons: Does not make me toast

Other Thoughts: I have had this monster for 3 years now and still love it. The space inside I can fit two 7870 cards in crossfire no problem. Also an extended 1000 watt ps.
Fan controller has worked great for 3 years.
This is not a small case. With 3x HDD; 2x SSD; 2x 7870; big power supply, etc, it is about as heavy and ungainly as a window air conditioner. Do not recommend taking it to LAN parties.
Unless you want to show it off. ;-)
If you place it on carpet I recommend you use spacers for best air flow.
My Phantom has travelled cross country and back with me for jobs and shows minimal wear and tear.

5 out of 5 eggsOverall Great Case

Pros: Plenty of room, fairly good air flow, nice shape and design, very sturdy

Cons: All but one fan indicator LED went out within a year

Other Thoughts: It's been great for my first solo build, most of my college friends love the design and the color of the LED's. It's a pretty sturdy case, being in a college apartment it can get knocked around every now and then even when I think it's out of the way. It has lots of room for cable management and expansion. The fan indicator LED's going out kinda bugs me but it's not a huge deal, I can still adjust the speed and everything else works. Would have liked more room with the top fans to fit some of the bigger liquid CPU coolers but again its a minor detail for me.
